Cubanos is little more than a food stand located in a parking lot by a busy road, but service is efficient at and the food is solid. I recommend the ropa vieja bowl. The flavor was there, although the meat was a little tough,and the portions of everything were generous. The plantain chips were perhaps my favorite part surprisingly. My wife was craving a hot sandwich for lunch while we were out shopping, so after doing some research, we plugged the address into our GPS and headed over. When we arrived, the GPS led us to what appeared to be a parking lot. Off to the side was a small standalone shack where you walk up to a window to place your order. The menu is pretty limited, with only about five different Cuban-style sandwiches to choose from. After ordering, we waited about 15 minutes standing in the parking lot before our name was called and our Cuban sandwiches were ready. There are a few tables set up outside, but they're located right in the parking lot, so you're literally dining next to parked cars. While the sandwiches were good and clearly made fresh, they weren't memorable enough to overcome the lack of ambiance and overall dining experience. This is a decent spot for a quick bite, but some improvements for the customer area would go a long way toward making it a destination worth seeking out. read more

Everything needs improvement. Even the coffee was meh. Parking is very limited. If you aren't paying attention you will miss the small trailer on the side of the parking lot. There is no seating except for a picnic table under their sign in the parking lot. We went on a rainy day and had to drive to somewhere else to eat. Only to find out that it was not worth the drive. Pretty serviceable Cuban in a pretty convenient to me location. After trying the whole menu, the El Tampa is the only thing worth ordering. The salami adds a depth of salt and fat that's welcome to the somewhat bland roast pork, which can be hit or miss - I've had it fresh and juicy before, and I've had it rather dry and grainy before. I've had the bread nice and greasy and toasty and flat, but I've also had it a little fat and chewy and dry. Consistency is what's making it hit or miss. I wish they'd invest in some better mustard. The garlic aioli sounded like something fun and interesting but just over powered the sandwich. I wish they'd invest in some house made hot sauce, because I really think it'd take the sandwiches up a notch when offered. The selection of Jarritos, plantain chips and other options are nice. I've not tried any of the pastries, desserts or coffees, but I had a forgettably greasy ham and cheese croissant. There aren't many options like this in the area, it's well appreciated. The Cuban is a little better than Super Pan in terms of texture and authenticity, but is missing a note on flavor (Super Pan often has a delicious salty sandwich, but it's always just a hit too greasy and I don't like their bread). I'm still looking for that original Cubano experience I used to get at Kool Korners when I went to GA Tech back in the day - an irreplacable dream but it's what's set the bar. read more

I was in the area for a doctor's appointment and decided to get a "taste" of Sandy Springs. Glad that I gave this restaurant a try. It was fairly priced. I got the Pollo aka chicken sandwich, plantain chips, and Cuban espresso coffee. I normally don't drink coffee, but wanted to know what Cuban coffee tasted like. If you're in the area and craving a grab and go option that doesn't sacrifice flavor, try the Cuban sandwiches at Cubanos ATL. "El Miami" is the best sandwich on the menu in my opinion. Layers of roasted pork, sweet ham, melted Swiss cheese, a hit of acidity from the pickles and mustard all pressed between two slices of buttered Cuban bread. Delish. Great portions sizes too. I love that Cubanos offers vegan options. I recommend calling ahead to confirm that vegan options are in stock if you follow a strict vegan diet. They've been out when I've tried to order a vegan sandwich in the past. If you have a sweet tooth and are craving desert, try the caramel flan, a custard with a caramel sauce. We've had the really good authentic stuff in Miami many times and this place is so aligned with that....maybe even better. The bread stood out, it was a perfect combination of crispy and fluffy. Went here for the vegan jackfruit Cuban sandwich. Because I am vegan and my gf is pescatarian, this is the only item either of us can eat on the menu. We went on Thursday at 12:15pm and they were out of the vegan sandwiches. We tried again the next day, and luckily they had the vegan sandwiches this time. The service was kind and quick. This is a small food stand in the parking lot of a business plaza. They seem to get a good amount of business, at least at lunch time. There were several other customers at the time we went there. There is one picnic table next to the stand, and a bench on the other side you can use while waiting for your order, should you want to sit. There is no covering outside of the stand, so customers are out in the elements. They are a little pricey (but what's not these days?), but the sandwiches are a good size. No chips or sides are included with sandwiches. Now about the food! The jackfruit was seasoned and cooked really well -- nice flavor and texture. And they put PLENTY on the sandwich. The bread is also very good. And it's a sizeable sandwich -- it filled me up! It also comes with mustard, vegan cheese, and pickles (like a traditional cuban) -- I wish there were more of all these toppings! Overall, the sandwich was pretty dry. I needed more toppings, for sure. I added homemade cashew mayo to it to make it less dry. Additionally, I'm super picky about how my sandwiches are built (I want to get all the parts of the sandwich in each bite), and it was extremely lopsided. Most bites were solely jackfruit -- the cheese was only on about a third of the sandwich, and that side with the cheese had very little jackfruit. I rearranged it a little myself to get more of each item in more bites. I don't want to eat just jackfruit in a bite, nor do I want to eat just cheese and mustard in a bite. And there were MAX 4 little pickles in the whole sandwich. Overall, the sandwich was tasty, but could be better (it could be a personal thing). I will likely go back, but it won't be a regular spot for me. read more

Worst Cubanos ever everything felt like it was made with Publix bought bread and meat.

We went here for lunch after reading all the positive reviews. When we arrived it was like a nice little tiny house in a parking lot with other businesses. Real cool looking spot. Excited to try the sandwiches my wife and I ordered two jerk sandwiches with chips and drinks for a grand total of $35! Expensive sandwiches I said to myself maybe it's inflation lol. So we sit down and eat our sandwiches meanwhile we met two older gentleman that we were having a conversation with so my wife and I didn't get to discuss the sandwiches until after we got in the car and left. So the first thing I said to her was "how are they charging $12 for deli sliced boars head turkey on toasted bread! She started laughing and said she was thinking the same thing! We were expecting marinated cooked chicken seasoned to perfection. So we went back and looked at previous yelpers sandwich pics and their chicken sandwiches looked different from ours. So I'm not sure if they ran out or what but nobody mentioned anything when we ordered. So until next time this review stays at a 2 because I feel tricked lol. I'll try the sandwich again and see if we get the correct one next time if so I will change the review rating. I heard about this place ok tiktok and wanted to try it since we were in the area. This location is a little shed in a parking lot. They had a lot of customers, and the service was quick. We ordered the El pollo especial (chicken sandwich) and a latte coffee with chocolate & caramel added. The sandwich had a nice crunch to it and the chicken was really soft with a subtle flavor. Doesn't feel super heavy. I also liked how smooth the coffee tasted. It wasn't super sweet but still really good! We would love to come back next time we are in Atlanta. read more

Cubano's ATL is doing it right! Their sandwiches are delicious and fresh. It was super easy to place our online order and pick-up from the little side window. This tiny house cranking out these amazing eats sits in a fairly busy shopping center parking lot, but we had no trouble finding a spot. We ordered the following: El Miami- Cuban Sandwich $11.99 El Pollo Sandwich $11.99 Breakfast Ham and Cheese Croissant $4.75 All three items were divine. The bread on both sandwiches was toasty with the perfect amount of butter - crisp, but still soft. The chicken sandwich was indeed more moist than the Cuban, both both were really good. The perfect balance between the amount of bread and the ingredients in the sandwiches. The ham and cheese croissant was adorned with a sweet glaze that really put this over the top. Simple and to the point. So incredibly satisfying. The croissant itself was buttery and soft, both salty and sweet with the glaze. Delicious. I grew up in Miami so this absolutely brought me all the way back home. We will definitely be back. Amazing job. Totally worth the hype. read more

This place is very very cute. It is in a small standalone home that looks like a rectangular tool shed. The workers here are super nice. Parking was not an issue here, so come on by if you are in the Sandy Springs area. You walk up about 5-10 steps to place your order (no shade) and rotate yourself over to their side window section (there is shade) to pick up your order. They have about 5 picnic style tables (one of them has an umbrella) for you to enjoy their food as soon as you get it. Of course you can also just pick up and take to go. Employees are wearing masks and there is hand sanitizer there to make sure you are clean clean. Napkins, straws, and utensils are located at the side window and you have to do it sort of yourself. I had the Cuban Coffee and the El Tampa. The Cuban Coffee was a delight and it tasted just like how my Cubano Fraternity brother makes his. I can call its authenticity out. That stuff is sooooo good. It is strong one. I respect this place so much more. The El Tampa sandwich was a meatzilla galore. So many meats coming in together in between two perfectly crispy and nice slices or bread. Crunchy outside and soft inside. Fantastic quality ingredients that came together to bring a tear in my eye. Blessed to have authentic Cuban sandwiches for my home and community. The vibe this place gives off is like a level up from a food truck. Almost like a fusion if a food truck and a small home had a child together. Overall will definitely come back. OMG! Pure deliciousness is all that needs to be said! Cubanos is a cute little house tucked away on a plaza lot. There was a long line, but the wait wasn't bad and was definitely worth it. I ordered El Pollo for myself and El Tampa for a friend (not shown, but they loved it by the way...) El Pollo-: the bread was fresh, soft and the perfect crisp on the outside. Not hard. Authentic Cuban sandwiches and coffee in the OTP! I love the tiny home concept too. It's so cute and brings a friendly and welcoming vibe. I ordered the El Pollo and it was big enough for me to take the second half home to eat for dinner haha. The sandwich is pressed and crispy on the outside and fresh&warm on the inside. I loved the secret aioli sauce in the El Pollo. Also ordered the iced Cafe Con Leche -- the mid-day pick-me-up I needed! Ask for some whipped cream and caramel drizzle if you like things sweet :). Don't forget the flan for dessert to top it all off. There's plenty of parking as it's located inside a shopping plaza right off Roswell Rd. This was a really cute spot to get a warm sandwich and a stiff espresso! The ambiance was surprisingly quaint given that it's almost like a food truck in a parking lot, but the "little house" aesthetic was a winner for me. There were large tables with umbrellas set up outside so you could sit and enjoy the fresh air while you waited or ate. I ordered online and the food was up super quick. The online system quoted me 15 minutes but they had my food bagged and waiting for me much sooner than that. The woman at the counter was very nice during the quick interaction. We ordered two Cuban sandwiches - the Miami (traditional) and the Tampa (which added salami). Both were very tasty! The bread was nice and crispy without being hard, and the meats were fresh-tasting without being stringy or gristly. We also ordered a Colada, which was a tiny cup with quite a bit of sweetened espresso. I'm accustomed to a Cuban Colada in Miami that is thick like syrup and very sweet, so the version at Cubano's is very different from that. This one was the usual thinness of espresso with more of a hint of sweetness. Though it wasn't what I was expecting, it was still very tasty (and the caffeine hit just right about an hour later! This is a tiny mobile restaurant located within a busy little plaza and small outside seating. Service was good and pretty fast. I ordered the #1 which is Cuban toast with butter and cafe con leche. The toast was good but bit too much butter and the coffee was really strong. The breakfast menu consists of about 4 items. This is for the Cumming location- Nothing is made when you order. They told us they couldn't serve us toast at 11:30am but they could give us a sandwich with the same bread. When asked if we could just get a piece of that, they said no. ‍ So we paid $12 for a premade sandwich that we watched be put on a grill, heated up for a couple minutes then handed to us. Boyfriend said it was extremely mediocre. I'm vegetarian so I couldn't eat anything here since they wouldn't serve toast alone. Ok I obsessed over this place when they arrived. The food is great. The owner is nice etc. however I had to stop going because I felt the value was off. It's been a month or so since my last visit.... The sandwich prices are just too high for not having any side included. The amount of chicken/ meat you get is also very minimal. If they had a quick way to just order / pickup coffee I would probably still visit, but that's also a challenge due to the long lines.
