It was my turn, dining alone but nothing about a table for one at Scotty's is lonely. The staff are immediately welcoming and every customer is every employee's charge. Four different people helped me or just checked in. The Gina breakfast combos have lots to offer for breakfast. But I was thrilled this 9:30 am to be assured the whole menu was available. I was looking for something less common and was excited to see potato latkes with sour cream and apple sauce as an option. That would have been great but then the waitress (Salome maybe) said, "Do you like corned beef?" The Schmoozer is 3 enormous latkes with thinly shaved and lightly grilled corn beef on top with an over easy egg atop that. Seriously, I can declare victory for finding something I'd never had before. Never would have found it without the nudge. Had to cut myself off with all the coffee offers. Just a great vibe. You rarely see a 4.9 rating and even more rarely that high based on so many reviews. But I understand why - like in so many things in life, it is about the people. And the joy they bring to every conversation. And I will just add, in this age when some would divide us, this dining room is filled with all manner of folks, reveling together over food in fellowship.

By the time we walked to the host stand--literally within seconds--we were told we had already lost our spot. They put us back on the waitlist and told us it would be about 20 minutes. After waiting around 25 minutes, we received another text saying our table was ready. Once again, we went straight to the host stand, only to be told there wasn't actually a table available. We asked if we could at least sit at the bar, but since we were a party of four, that wasn't an option. Instead, they added us to the waitlist for a third time and told us to wait another 20 minutes. The most disappointing part was watching more than 10 couples get seated while we continued to be overlooked. It felt like the waitlist system was completely disorganized, and the staff offered no real explanation or solution. After wasting nearly an hour, we decided to leave and have brunch somewhere else. Fortunately, the other restaurant was excellent. Unfortunately, this place turned what should have been a relaxing brunch into a frustrating and disappointing experience.

We are in the Eastmoor Area, so this was close. Stav's is a traditional dinner with some two-tops along the wall and the counter. There were two open tables, and we were seated right away. Our server was right there, asking about coffee or drinks and offering a menu. Coffee was served in a good-sized mug. I had a western omelet with hash browns, rye toast, and coffee. My wife had a mushroom omelet. Our food was out very quickly. Our meal was good but not extraordinary. If you are looking for a breakfast or lunch place on the Eastside, give these folks a try.
