I ordered a Sunrise Sunset smoothie and a cup of water. Paid $8. When I got my smoothie, I was tasting hints of banana....very odd, because the Sunrise Sunset only contains: mango, strawberry, pineapple, and orange juice...so I take another sip to make sure I'm not mistaken, and I was not. I have a mild allergy to bananas. So I go back inside and ask them if they can kindly remake it, I only took two sips. I'm tasting banana, I'm fully aware that the smoothie doesn't contain banana but I'm tasting it and it's something I'm allergic too. The employee I spoke with told me she'll remake it. When she went to the owner to tell her everything I said, the owner immediately looked me in my eyes and said they were not remaking it. She (the owner) then went on to say that she made it herself, she made it correctly, and that she won't be making it again. I demanded that I have my money back if she couldn't make the accommodation and she told me no. She was adamant about having made the smoothie correctly and that she wouldn't remake it or refund me. Roaches and sawdust as fillers in your Smoothies... Store doesn't seem to care about customers. New policy is go online and talk "to them". This place won't last very long... Headquarters doesn't care as well. Store substituted romaine lettuce with iceberg lettuce. Asked for cilantro to be added to the Thai Chicken salad--they replied they don't have cilantro. Called store letting them know the salad is made wrong, they said they were closed and to come back tomorrow. Went to store next day and store would not refund money. John, cashier, told me to call number on receipt and speak to "Sasha". Called same number I called last night from receipt and no Sasha. Pass the buck is their motto so far.... you think you're buying something healthy when in reality it's substituted with garbage. You the customer are NOT worthy to make things right other than to STEAL your money or give you garbage. The avocolada smoothie was also a hit. The Bahama Mama might make you smack someone's mama. I mean... I hope not but it was that good LOL. Service here was fast and friendly for me on every visit. You could easily make this 24oz of blended fresh fruit and veggies a meal as I could not finish mine in one sitting but I also got to try the chicken taco - loved it after I asked for no bacon.... The fish taco - is tasty, I just wish there were a non Tilapia alternative.... And the Thai Chicken wrap - also delicious but ask them to go light on the sauce for you. The price point of $5.00 plus tax during peak hours with half off smoothies from 7am-9am on week days is a great value for a smoothie sized to replace a meal. There is a decent variety of smoothies, I can easily say that every smoothie, I have tried, has been delicious with and without turbinado (sugar). The food is tasty, very light as far as salads go. When it comes to spice, they don't mess around. The Caribbean jerk chicken and the buffalo chicken wrap are two spicy dishes! (This is coming from someone who has a high heat tolerance) They are both flavorful dishes, but one should know how spicy they actually are. The staff is wonderful, welcoming, attentive, and quick. Smoothies generally come out within five minutes of ordering in the restaurant. Food takes a little longer maybe five to ten minutes. If there is a problem with the order, the staff addresses it in a respectful manner. Getting the rewards app is well worth it in my opinion. Ordering from the app is kind of a pain, but if you buy a lot of smoothies you may as well rack up the reward points! Saturday 1 March 2020 I went to the Gambrills location, which was relatively busy at 11:00 AM, and purchased four smoothies to go. After waiting approximately 15 minutes I was handed a bag with a drink carrier and left. I got to my car and realized only 3 smoothies were in the bag so I went back inside and informed the cashier that I was missing a smoothie. She replied it's over there & pointed to a blender. I said I'm confused because it should be in my bag. She said he's making it, I responded he gave me a bag & said here you go so why is my order still being made. Silence. A cranky man from the sandwich station shouted what's the problem and the cashier tells him he's making her smoothie so she's just gonna have to wait. Cranky sandwich guy shouts it's coming you just need to wait. I stare at the group of misfits and realized I should just be happy that they're not contaminating the food. Eventually I was handed my long lost smoothie. Oh, the door is broken and swings wildly when opened. I was very impressed with Tropical Smoothie. I've been eyeing this spot for a while and finally stopped in to check out their menu. I ordered an Açaí smoothie and a chicken flat bread sandwich. The sandwich was toasted and well put together. It's not very filling but a healthy alternative if you want a light lunch. You have the option to get a bag of chips, fruit or their kale salad. I opted for the kale salad but probably won't get that again. It's was so small it was literally gone in three swallows. I entered Tropical Smoothie at 8:55 pm on a Wednesday evening. Although they closed at 9:00, I was greeted with a smile and my order was placed without complaint. Shaquille even offered to turn the oven back on to make my wrap. I told him no thank you because I knew it was late and I didn't want to keep the staff there past closing. I truly appreciate the customer service and willingness to serve me despite closing in a few minutes. I was craving something filling but not too heavy while passing through the Crofton and stumbled across this newly opened Tropical Smoothie Cafe'. Man...the staff was so nice, food fresh and the place was aesthetically pleasing to my tired eyes after a long day of motorcycle riding! They are definitely doing something right here, usually when places open it's a little clumsy from the start...but they really had their stuff together. I hope that they maintain these standards which I suspect they will because this is a veteran and woman owned business. Cute smoothie place! I got the peanut paradise smoothie which consisted of peanut butter, banana, yogurt, and soy protein. Although my smoothie was good I wasn't completely impressed. My smoothie was still very grainy from the protein not being blended well and I also didn't like how they only offered 24oz smoothies. My smoothie was 715 calories smhhhhh. So much for being healthy right? A smaller size smoothie would've cut down on the calories significantly. I'd be up to giving this place one more chance if I brought a friend who could have the other half of my smoothie lol. read more

I find it really comforting when you walk into a place of business and they treat you like family or a respected customer. I've been to this location on several occasions over the years and I've always been treated with the up most respect from majority of the employees. Whether it's Shaq, Nate or Mark working, I'm always greeted walking into the Café. Most of the workers remember my smoothie and additional supplements so I have the quickest experience getting in and out. I appreciate the Café's dining area remaining closed during COVID-19 to protect its customers and staff members. The store's foyer is always cleaned and swept. The counter never or rarely looks a mess with blenders and/or different online orders. I believe I've seen the owners in there quite a few times as well which means they're truly engaged with their business. I can't imagine anyone having a bad experience with this store. I thank all the Café members for making my experience personal and efficient. I would chose this location over the Glen Burnie location any day! read more

So glad that they've added delivery during COVID. Both times I've ordered so far the orders have come on time or early, the smoothies arrived in perfect condition, not melted. I love the seasonal watermelon mojito smoothie and the bbq pork quesadilla. We've also enjoyed the chicken caprese sandwich, the pesto chicken flatbread, the kale/apple slaw, and the kiwi strawberry smoothie. The southwest quesadilla was just alright. Horrible customer service and rude employees. I have visited this location many times before because it's close to my house, and it seems each time gets worst ever visit. Last visit I am assuming it was the manger tried arguing with me that I had the right order when I did not. After someone else got involved and said it was the wrong order he just threw it up on the counter and walked away. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE I took the first order out to my car and then brought it back in after I realized it was wrong.I really hope they threw it out especially with COVID. I had parked in front of this place while I went in next door to get my hair cut and noticed the posters in the window of their mojo pork & swiss flatbread, thinking "Man, that sounds delicious!" After my haircut, I asked my stylist about the food, and she just got a dreamy look, moaned a little bit, and said "Just go". Alrighty then! So off I went, and was immediately greeted by one of the friendliest faces I've ever encountered. He explained the menu to me, telling me how they can customize anything. This is by far the worst Tropical Smoothie Cafe that I have ever been to. The workers looked at me like I was crazy as I made substitutions in my food. They would not substitute the rice that I wanted (they claim it is against their policy) but I have been to a host of TSCs and have never been questioned. So then they went to get the owner. That owner had NO type of manners. She was very disrespectful with a stank attitude. I was very supportive at first being that this is an African-American franchise. She was very rude and even other customers commented on her behavior. I will never go here again. On top of that my smoothies were short and my food was nasty. Fantastic! A blend of strawberries, bananas, and pineapples. It was refreshing on a 80 degree day. I ordered the Cali Chicken Flatbread, it is only available for a limited time. It has chicken, cheese, tomato, avocado, and lettuce. When I opened the flatbread it did not look appetizing at all. It didn't look like the picture, however it was so good it was hard to put down. I was shocked. The flatbread was so soft and yummy. I will defiantly be stopping at Tropical Smoothie again for a refreshing smoothie and flatbread. Been wanting to try TSC for some time, I decided to stop in on a weekday afternoon while in the area. The menu is pretty simple, with most smoothies costing $5.00 for 24 oz. I decided on the Paradise something smoothie, that included pineapple, strawberries and banana. I asked the clerk to hold the sugar, (I'm thinking the banana will give it the sweetness I desire) I tasted and instantly know I'd made a mistake! I guess the sweetner that they call turbo boost, is what gives the smoothie its flavor. This was my first time visiting this location. I arrived 5 minutes before closing time and was disappointed in the service and one of the two items I purchased. My Peanut Paradise smoothie was watery and did not have the thick and smooth consistency that I am used to. When I got the one cup it was wet because the smoothie had spilled over the side and time was not taken to wipe the cup dry before giving it to me. My husband enjoyed the Avocolada smoothie that was prepared by someone else. I could see it was thick and smooth like a smoothie is supposed to be. Closing time does not mean you give closing time service or products and if you do, at least you could have charged me a reduced closing time price for a reduction in the level of service rendered. I am a veteran and this is a veteran-owned business; I encourage you to step it up in the customer service area and product presentation area.
