I've known about Crofton Depot for a while but just recently got a chance to stop in on my lunch break, and I'm glad I did. So far I've tried the California Powerhouse and the Turkey Club, and both were stacked with fresh ingredients. The portions are solid, and you can tell they're not skimping on anything. The Powerhouse came on a Kaiser roll and the club on white bread, and both held up really well. I've gotten fries on the side each time. They're cooked well, but they come out unsalted and a little bland on their own. That said, once you add some ketchup, they're perfectly fine and do the job. Service has been quick both times I went. I stopped by around 11:30 during the week (Thursday and Friday), and there was no line either time. From ordering to getting my food was about 5 minutes total, so it's definitely a solid option for a quick lunch. The shop itself is very clean and welcoming, and the staff has been friendly and helpful on both visits. Ordering is simple, though I did notice some of the same sandwich names listed in different sections with different prices, which was a little confusing. I meant to ask about it but forgot. They have a wide selection of deli-style sandwiches (hot and cold), plus cheesesteaks and burgers, which I haven't tried yet. For a sandwich, fries, and a drink, it's been a little over $18, but with the portion sizes and quality, I think it's worth it. I'll definitely be back. I'm especially interested in trying their breakfast since this area doesn't have a lot of strong breakfast spots, so I'm curious to see how they compare. read more

Deli food made right. There is something comforting about a good deli breakfast and sandwich. Crofton Depot Deli does that. Simple and good. Prices are affordable, considering the cost increases. Food is made to order, yet I haven't had to wait more than 20 minutes when walking in. Most people carry out, but occasionally, they sit and watch loyal customers pick up their orders and see the staff interact with them. Always friendly and service-minded. I ordered the Signature, which is a chicken sandwich with pesto, provolone, lettuce, and tomato on a ciabatta bread, and a side of fries The sandwich alone was $11 and the fries were about $4.50 so I didn't spend more than $20. I guess that's norm for lunch these days. The sandwich was really good and had a great combination of flavors. The fries were crispy how I like them but they needed salt or seasoning. Holy moly. This place is beyond 5 stars. I've lived in crofton for 20+ years and have seen many places come and go over in this shopping center, but THIS place is amazing. I tried this spot for the first time today. The place is located off of Defense Highway, tucked away inside of a shopping center or "in the cut" as we used to say. There is a nice couple running the place. I was greeted upon entry and spent a few minutes looking over the menu. I settled on the Virginian sandwich with a bag of chips. It comes with turkey, ham, provolone, bacon, lettuce, tomato and honey mustard on a croissant. I added a bit of mayo. Now, I don't usually order cold sandwiches but this sandwich was pretty darn good. It was piled high with fresh ingredients. The croissant sent this thing over the top. Every sandwich I've had has been fresh and piled high with fixin's. My favorite is the Chicken Cordon Bleu sandwich. The place is small (less than 10 tables) and it does get busy around lunch time (11-12pm) so I would suggest calling in your to-go order if you're on a time crunch.
