I placed an order here through the drive-through for a cheese quesadilla (no meat). I asked for no meat due to food allergies. I was served a chicken quesadilla, and when I went back to the restaurant, the employee remade the quesadilla but told me to smile and not be so upset. I explained that I had food allergies and was a vegetarian. He said not to be rude to the person who makes the food. I told him that the order was simple, and I didn't understand not being able to read a simple order that was laid out before him. Another of the employees looks at me and says, "Calm down, it was only steak or chicken, not that big a deal." To be talked to by people in this manner is unacceptable, and to top it off, when I complained that this occurred on the tropical smoothie website, my complaint was ignored. We wanted a smoothie after mountain biking all afternoon and chose this place as it was the first smoothie place to pop up near us and we were beyond satisfied! Besides smoothies, they've got sandwiches, wraps and salads. Everyone in my group is vegetarian so we were very pleased to find vegetarian options AND plant-based protein to substitute in place of meat. I was not expecting that in Hot Springs, Arkansas so what a treat!! The smoothies are one size and they are pretty big - it was the perfect shareable size for my boyfriend and I. The sandwiches come with a side to make it a complete meal. We both had the Green Goddess with plant-based protein and were very impressed with the quality and flavor! Not sure if this is a chain because we are not Arkansas residents but I definitely recommend you check this place out for a healthy, quick-bite to eat. read more

I have had many experiences with different tropical smoothie cafes in the Memphis, TN area which are amazing, but this was by far the worst Tropical Smoothie Cafe i have ever been to. I have come here twice. The first time I showed up, no workers were inside the store when it should have been open. I had to wait almost an hour for them to go inside and start everything up. The second time visiting which was a year later, I pulled into the drive thru and I could barely hear the worker. Though I asked for two meals but the worker never asked me what chips I wanted. After the whole drive through hassle I sat in their parking lot to eat and relax, but the chicken ended up being cold and the cheese was still not melted which resulted in a complete waste of my money, time, and patience. read more

I brought my 7 year old here because we both typically love Tropical Smoothie. I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 because the smoothies and the food (pb, banana, honey pita) tasted good. I'm giving 2 stars instead of 5 because of a few things. The place was littered with napkins, straw wrappers, etc. There were friends or family of an employee just hanging out & visiting loudly (not eating/drinking). One employee dropped a "f*#!" loud enough for myself and my child to hear. When he realized we heard him he sheepishly apologized. At that point I just packed up and left. I'm not sure if it's all younger employees that just don't care or what, but someone in management needs to come in and do some training. I don't want to pay that much for a smoothie then sit around and listen to you chat up your friends and use foul language. I was so excited tropical smoothie came to hot springs but the service wasn't great from day 1 and continues to decline. My husband drives to Little Rock almost every day and frequently stops at a location there but refuses to go to the one in hs. I have seen someone handle $ and make food without washing hands. The serving sizes continue to get smaller but price does not, I'm a vegetarian so the beyond meat was great, now I get a wrap with a few pieces of lettuce and a carrot shred and pay the same amount as before. I will not order another sandwich unless you bring back beyond meat. Others still have it so it's not a company wide choice. Instead of going to this place a few times a week now it's like once a year. I can blend up frozen fruit at home for a fraction of the cost. read more

Giving this place a one star rating is very disheartening. I reached out to tropical smoothie customer service, over two weeks ago, about some repeated bad experiences and have heard nothing back. My boyfriend and I are pretty regular customers. The staff doesn't know us by name but they recognize our faces, get excited when we come in, and have been told by more than one of them that we're, "kind of my favorite customers." We would go at least once every two weeks, sometimes more, for two smoothies. One of them has been bad on four separate occasions. My boyfriend always orders a sunrise sunset. We tend to go later in the day around the end of business or later, like 8pm. The first time this happened, he tasted it and said it tasted sour. I tried it and it tasted kind of flat, like maybe the orange juice was starting to sour. They remade it, tried it themselves, made another with fresh ingredients and all was good; no big deal. The second incident wasn't the very next visit but the one after that. Same thing happened. We ordered, tasted the smoothie and it was sour, they remade it and all was good. We didn't make too much of it because of the time of day we were going. I used to work in fast food. Anytime around 5pm is when you start to flip everything to prep for the next day. The next visit it happened again but it tasted worse. It was so much more sour and bitter like more than one ingredient had gone bad. He ordered something else and everything was fine but it was starting to become a problem. The last time went was on May 15th and it happened again expect this time he ordered an orange ginger glow with strawberries. Again, it tasted very sour, they remade it and we left. The more he drank it the more he kept saying it still didn't taste right. His palate is more sensitive than mine. I tried it and it didn't taste bad bit I could tell the ingredients weren't very fresh. While we were sipping on it we both found little white hairs. They were about 1/4in long and very coarse. Mine boyfriend has a mustache and beard so I initially thought it was from him because the hair I found was on the tip of the straw. The more I drank it, the more of them I found. There wasn't anyone there with white, not even a customer. Ginger grows thick, coarse hairs when it goes bad. The hairs were 1/4in long after being blended! If they were that long after being blended then they were most definitely noticeable beforehand. It really sucks that this is the only tropical smoothie cafe in my area and their customer service team won't even respond to me, even though I received an email stating they'd be in touch. read more
