One of the pieces was about half the size of the other, so I contacted the restaurant to request a refund for the 1 piece of cake. Not only did they refuse to refund the $7 for the cake, but accused me of eating it. We were told this place was like Panera, but with a bigger menu, and the food was supposed to be just as good. Boy, we were misled. I ordered the 49er sandwich and a cup of potato soup. The sandwich was soggy and the meat and veggies were sparse. The soup was just above room temp and not flavorful at all. My wife ordered a bagel and lox. Not only did she not get it, when they finally brought it it was terrible. Apparently they don't know what lox is. Instead, what she got a salmon cake with capers on a bagel, and it was not edible. My brother got a southwest chicken panini, and he said it was just ok. Our first and last time eating there. Too many other places to go in Hot Springs to waste money at this place. Next time it will be Rocky's Corner, David's Burgers, Capos Tacos or anywhere else but this place. read more

A real hangout place in Hot Springs if only they could make it more hospitable. By 6PM, the chairs in front of the TV were turned over, the pungent smell of still wet Fabuloso welcomed you as you walked in. The restaurant closes at 9PM but the staff was ready to go home, d-med be the customer. A couple ordered and quickly ate their food in silence probably because their eyes were stinging from the freshly applied floor chemicals. The only other place I've experienced this kind of veiled rejection as a customer was at a local Mexican restaurant which rhymes with Don Jon. Why is this indifference and lack of hospitality spreading through our town? It felt as if the staff couldn't wait for us to leave so they could go home. Traveling with pups and popped in here for takeout. So glad I did. The guy at the front (didn't catch his name but younger guy) was so nice and made my sister and I something off menu from the coffee bar we requested. The coffee was amazing that he made. Well, where should I begin. I stopped in on January 26th 2023 at 4:30pm and I was expecting to get a nice hot cup of coffee but instead I got ice cold coffee from the self serve coffee dispenser after already paying for it. I informed the employee at the counter about the coffee being cold, and she replied, "Yes, I know it was made at 7am this morning." This practice goes against the industry standard for restaurants to brew a new pot of coffee after 4 hours to maintain freshness and to ensure that the coffee has not become contaminated due to being in a public dispensing area. I asked the employee if there was any hot coffee available. The employee said "No there isn't any hot coffee made, but I can see if I can get you a refund or you can put your cup in the microwave to warm up your coffee." It seems rather disturbing that an employee would rather offer a refund which would cost a business money instead of make fresh coffee. Unfortunately, the staff is not well informed about the fire dangers of putting Styrofoam products in the microwave and the cancer causing health risks of consuming food/drinks from microwaved containers. After several back and forth comments with the employee, she finally agreed to make a fresh pot of coffee. I am surprised by this restaurant on how it has changed. For years, I have stopped in for a cup of coffee, a cup of soup, and even brought my family in for meals on many occasions. Unfortunately, the quality of service is not like it has been in the past. I have concerns about the safety and the quality of the food they are preparing, especially since the employees don't seem to care about the customer. read more

The staff was extremely friendly and polite and the food was excellent. I got the portobello club which was one of the best portobello sandwiches I've had in quite a while. This used to be my favorite place in Hot Springs. I've been going there for a long time, and in spite of the fact they would forget my order half the time, they always knew I would be back soon for a bagel or cheesecake. I even forgave the guy vacuuming the floor one time when he rudely snapped at me to get out of my chair where I was eating and out of his way. But a few days ago something happened that scarred my relationship with these people forever. A lady came in with two little girls, one that looked about 8 and the other maybe 5. She constantly yelled at them, using profanity, F-this and F-ing that. They were at the table right next to me and my boyfriend, and when it didn't stop after at least 10 minutes, I finally went to the counter and told someone about it. The employee went to the back and came back in a few minutes, looked at the floor, fiddled with her hands, and said, "I-I'm sorry, there's nothing I can do about it... That's the owner's wife." ......I was stunned. Let me repeat: THE OWNER'S WIFE. I would insert my opinion here, but I think I've said enough without it. I got the loaded potato soup in a bread bowl and the bread bowl was absolutely the definition of French bread with zero flavor or buttery texture. Also, the soup was basically milk and potatoes and lacked any salt whatsoever. My boyfriend got the turkey sandwich and had one slice on lunch meat on the French bread they called sourdough. This is a great place- also very nice that your child can eat free after 5pm. The owners are very receptive to suggestions or issues. There have been several times that I've studied here as it is one of the few places in town that you can go to that has free wifi and quiet environment.
