We came in just wanting some soup and salad, cause we're out of town and needed something green and fresh. We were shocked by how good everything was for a fast casual restaurant. The staff was super nice and helpful. We chatted a bit and were torn over the menu because everything sounded great. My boyfriend got a pick 3, and I got a full salad plus cup of soup special. The portions are great. I had the Newks salad and chicken tortilla soup. He had the Italian sandwich, 1/2 garden salad with lemon vinaigrette, and the tomato bisque. Like I said, everything was really good and it's hard to say anything wasn't good. Tomato bisque was 3/5, but everything else was outstanding. We would come back again if we lived here. read more

Went to the newly redecorated Newk's today to share a special Mother's Day lunch with our gang (15) friends and family. We all had a variety of delicious dishes and the cake was a nice treat. The service was great and we received our meal quickly and with warm greeting. All of the employees were friendly and made everyone feel welcome! Went here for a bite to eat. I ordered the "new spicy chicken bacon wrap" it was so bad. It barely had any bacon, definitely did not have jalapeños, and it was most definitely not spicy. His are always just the right texture mixing the slightly crunchy outside with the soft inside of the delicious bread. My fruit was yummy as always! Newk's Eatery served its purpose, but it was nothing special. My group and I visited the restaurant around 7 p.m. for dinner. We each ordered a Pick a Pair meal: two Italian sandwiches with side salads (Caesar and Greek) and the chicken pesto sandwich with a cup of potato soup. The proportions were perfect! The sandwiches were tasty, but my group mate and I agreed that we think Subway's Italian sandwich is better (which says something). Our salads were drenched with dressing, so while tasty, they were a bit soggy. The cup of potato soup was served in a decently sized bowl and was delicious! If you order a fountain drink, you receive a large reusable Newk's cup (very excited about this). Upon arriving at Newk's, you order at a counter and then sit for your food to be brought to you. The staff member who checked us out was so, so friendly and helpful. One of my group mates was going to purchase a bottled water, but he recommended us a water cup to save money, which we did. The server who brought us our food was extremely friendly too. The restaurant itself was clean, along with the bathrooms. It wasn't too busy when we were there, so it was a perfect place to chat over dinner. I don't think I'd necessarily recommend Newk's for family and friends visiting Hot Springs. As I mentioned, the restaurant served its purpose, but it was nothing too special. read more

We had lunch at a nearby place and thought this looked good for a lighter supper. We were in town for a fun trip and wanted to try someplace new. The strip mall location is handy and the interior is reminiscent of a couple of chains you might know. They weren't super busy but had a medium crowd. One of the workers figured we were first timers and clueless. She answered our menu questions after approaching us. The cash register is located kind of odd but it works. She then took our order and was efficient but remained friendly. We were in at 8 and they close at 9. She told us they were having an employee party that night but not to feel rushed. She gave us a number and it cups. I got the tea made with Splenda. I wish everyone had this option!! So perfect. I also got the tomato soup... So perfectly made and a bowl right sized just for me. I got the pimento cheese sandwich because I love pimento cheese but usually it's not an option and my family doesn't share my enthusiasm. This was very light on the pimentos but flavored just right on that fresh baguette. I don't remember what my wife ordered... But I remember she thought it was also really good. The order taker came back to check on us and our food... And truthfully her friendliness really added to our night out. She again reminded us we shouldn't feel rushed while they were cleaning. On the way out a manager asked us how we liked our food and her concern for our experience was very genuine. Outside the door we were engaged by the same guy who opened the door for us and greeted us... I'm guessing he was the owner... I only then realized he had a smoker going outside for the employee party food. I'm guessing that the employees are well treated here and that's what makes for workers that care about their jobs and their customers. We left in great spirits and well fed.
