Mixed review. Beef brisket- 1/3 pound but most of it was either burnt a bit too much so it was hard or too fat and burnt. Wish there was more softer meat parts to it. Potatoe Salad- this was good but I realized it had bacon in it, for me that's a hard pass. Mac& Cheese- I liked this but I guess I expected a yellow cheddar based cheese, not a whatever I had was. My hubby asked if the slaw had seeds and we were told no but it definitely had celery seeds in it which would send him to the hospital. Overall- it filled a spot. Not the best or worst either.

Delicious. This gem is outside of the riff raffle of the downtown area, so it was way less busy. We are Texans, love BBQ and this was some darn good brisket. You have to request onions and pickles, which was fine, they are free and the pickles are good. The cost is far less than what we are use to in Texas. The green beans on the other hand are less than spectacular. Very bland and could possibly have just come from a can. I still give it 5 stars bc it exceeded my expectations for Arkansas BBQ.

If you're wondering what Pork Nachos look like, here you go... Not a great presentation in my opinion but that's how they do it there.

Fantastic!! The Kickin' Apple bbq sauce is unique, full of flavor, and exceptional! Burnt ends were like candy! Just the way I like it...

Cafe 1217 - A Fresh Break from the Road Trip Diet…read more What a relief to stumble into Cafe 1217 after days of heading southwest on a steady rotation of BBQ, grits, and beans. Delicious, yes... but the body eventually starts asking for a vegetable and a reset. The space itself matches that feeling. Simply decorated, with bright murals, clean lines, and a cheerful, easygoing vibe that feels light the moment you walk in. My husband gave me full ordering authority, which is always a bold move. I went straight into tapas mode because everything on the menu looked too good to choose just one. We ended up with a spread: chicken pot pie (which quickly abandoned any "small plate" intentions), field greens and baby spinach, a shrimp and crawfish cake, and one of each of Rosy's authentic hand-rolled tamales. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and satisfying without that heavy, road-trip food fatigue. The mint lemonade was refreshing and delicious, a little on the sweet side, but it worked. Service, while perfectly fine, could benefit from a warmer welcome and a bit more guidance, especially for first-timers trying to navigate such an inviting menu. A little extra friendliness up front would go a long way here. Our only real regret? Not saving room for dessert. They looked very tempting, and we'll be thinking about that missed opportunity. If you're on the road and craving something lighter without sacrificing flavor, this spot is a welcome pause.

The restaurant itself is located in a historic brewhouse. With all of that being said... you can certainly expect a wait, especially during peak hours. For our party of three at about 11 on a weekday during the middle of spring break, it was about an hour wait. Thankfully, it wasn't too big of a problem. We still had some parts of Bathhouse Row that we had to explore. When there was a spot available, we got the notification through text. We headed on over. We were seated at a table right behind the host. It was shared with another pair but there was enough room so it wasn't too much of a problem. Usually, we don't drink. However, because of the uniqueness of this place, we just had to try. We aren't built for the Beer Bath that allows you to sample all 18 beers on tap. Instead, we opted for the flight which was more than enough for us. I'll be honest... I can't tell the difference at all between the different beers. Nevertheless, that speaks more to my inexperienced beer palate. The four taps that we got were all tasty and lasted us through the meal. For starter, we got the fried cauliflower. Crispy exterior that made our daily veggie intake that much more delicious. Paired very well with ranch. For main, I got Rose's Burger. The bacon jam provided a good amount of sweetness that was balanced by some of the spice from the pepperjack cheese and the savoriness of the burger itself. My mom got the reuben sandwhich. It was standard. My dad got the steak sandwich - it's basically a philly cheese. I thought it was particularly good especially since they use beer cheese made in-house. In terms of serivce, I will say that it was slow at times. However, as mentioned, this place is incredibly busy so definitely gotta give them some grace. In the future, I'd definitely come back again given the quality and uniqueness of Superior Bathhouse

We were a party of 2 that happened to arrive the same time as a party of 8-10 around 8pm. It was dark and our table wasn't really set up for service: there was no night lamp on the table to read the menu and it took forever to get napkins and silverware. We ordered hamburgers, fries and beer. Food was meh. Fries were cold and burger was mediocre at best. We still left a significant tip bc we truly talking w/our server, a Hot Springs local, who ultimately made our experience pleasant. It's nice to sit outside on the patio if the weather is nice. Indoors is loud.

The cinnamon rolls they had an entire page in the menu dedicated to some sweet, swirly cinnamon goodness options but all of them were $11.11 so I chose the classic one for $5 & change. Don't think I've ever seen a cafe or restaurant where most of their prices are with either the same 3 or 4 digits lol Reason why it's not 5 stars is the stimuli in that place was way more than I can handle. I ended up having to take deep breaths in car & take time to regulate my nervous system before driving off. Everything echoed & seemed like the decibel of sound doubled. From the blender for smoothies to the emptying out the coffee grounds from espresso machine against the trash can to the ear piercing drag of the chairs from patrons. Not the most peaceful place to eat & I certainly couldn't comfortably hold a phone conversation. Wouldn't hesitate to return but a to-go order it would be!
