On Monday I went into the Cafe and I was pleasantly welcomed by an Employee who would go on to take my order. His name was Justin and he helped me order a smoothie. I went on to buy a Bahama Mama which was a recommendation by Justin. The smoothie was done quickly and tasted really good. He also mentioned a survey at the bottom of the receipt for a $1.99 smoothie which I appreciated because most of the time I just throw out the receipt. I see that there are different types of bad comments but I really think that all the guys who work at tropical smoothie cafe try to do their best because sometimes it can be difficult, sometimes many do not understand that. In my experience being there they have always been respectful and coordinated, they recommend new smoothies and they are really very good. good job they keep improving read more

The staff was very accommodating and the service was quick. They allowed me to order a custom smoothie despite there not being an option on menu. I had a smoothie with carrots, apples, pomegrante, ginger, and lime. The smoothie was about $6.50 for a large cup. read more

Horrible service & horrible smoothie. One smoothie taste like water the other powder & artificial sugar. Instead of staff trying to make it better you rather whisper to each other. Be mindful of how you treat your customers never know who I am could be a secret shopper rating on performance. These 2 would have definitely failed & need a customer service class. First time and last time here. Being the first time.. I got a smoothie and a flatbread. As I was ordering I had two people speaking to me at the same time. And the person making all the food kept cutting me off and not let finish my question. The cashier was very nice. The girl making my chipotle chicken club did not give me what I ordered. No pepper jack cheese and ranch dressing instead of chipotle mayo. Sandwich was cold as well as her attitude. I watched her throw a bag a chips at some other patrons sitting at counter. I saw their reaction. Wasn't good. All I have to say is if you don't like your job quit! We love this place. Service is friendly and warm. They help you figure out which coupon gives you your best deal and the food is exceptional too-new sandwiches are great-salads were always good and smoothies are tasty too. Smoothies are good service is not...am there a lot probably about 3-5 times a week because i do like the smoothies. Just very frustrating when they are busy and their employees can not handle it. Ive waited 5-10 minutes at the counter clearly waiting to order and just see 2-4 employees continuously taking care of online orders and not caring about who is in store. I've had tropical smoothie cafe plenty of times here and in other locations, some in FL that's where I grew up. This doesn't necessarily apply to just the Merrick location, and granted I'm looking on Uber eats but I can't help but say my god have prices gotten outrageous. Even in the age of this hyper inflation, $9.49 for a smoothie? Prices are already higher on Uber eats/door dash menus so restaurants can make up for having to pay these companies to use their services. But seriously. $10 for a smoothie and $10 for a subpar wrap is insane. The food is not that good, it's literally microwaved and portions are small. By the time it gets to my door with fees and tip it's pretty much $30. Some might say that's the age we're living in but I'm just here to say it's simply not worth it and I'd love to have a conversation with someone who thinks it is. I came at 2 Pm on a Thursday, there were about 3-4 other people already waiting for food/smoothies. My smoothie came out in about 5 minutes, my food (a wrap) on the other hand took 30 minutes, No joke. I waited for about 15-20 minutes after ordering and finally said something about the wait. The staff served about 4-5 people first & I ended up waiting for another 10-15 minutes...I finished my smoothie by the time my food was done. The first tine I tried this place the guy who took my order wasn't paying attention and he sent me home with an apple as a side when I had ordered an orange, Next time I thought I'd try their recommended combo. I don't know why they call it a watermelon mojito because all I tasted is the strawberries. And the bbq chicken flat bread said it contained pulled chicken, cole slaw, cheddar cheese and sweet bbq sauce. Though tropical smoothie is amazing, this one is terrible. We typically order tropical smoothie to get picked up by ourselves or through ubereats. The drinks are NEVER labeled which has been a huge issue. The peanut paradise is never fully blended and we always have chunks of peanut butter found at the bottom. Truly disappointing, as this is the closest one to our school and staff often like to order from here but no longer will. read more

I came here to get a smoothie one afternoon. I waited about 30 minutes to get just a smoothie, it was very frustrating. They only had two people working and they were both working continuously the entire time I was there. They were clearly short staffed and customers were waiting ridiculous amounts of time waiting for their orders. I love Tropical Smoothie Cafe, I tried this location and it wasn't the exception, I ordered online, it took me 7 min driving there and my smoothie was already in the pick ups fridge. I also noticed they have a sign with a promotion of 3.99 smoothies before 10 am which I think it's fabulous. read more

I'm a fan of Tropical Smoothie in general but this location is ridiculous. They seem short staffed and overwhelmed all the time. They REALLY need more people working the counter and the orders. Also, this location is always out of a certain product, whether it be almonds, turkey or bananas. BANANAS! That's the main ingredient in almost all the smoothies. How do you not have bananas?! I use to love this place. Tonight, I experienced the absolute worst customer service. We walk in and we're the only customers. They look at us like we have ten heads and don't say a word until we order. About ten minutes goes by, more customers come in and they give our food to the wrong people. These people open up the sandwich are picking at it, trying to see if it's the right one. We go up to the counter asking if ours will be ready soon because we saw others getting there order. The people realize that they got ours by mistake, roll it back up and give it back to the girl. The girl behind the counter then takes it without even looking and hands it to me without saying anything. This is how viruses spread. I told her I do not want that after someone else touched it! She offered 0 apology, took it back with an attitude and continued helping someone else. This is extremely unsanitary and unprofessional. Why would I want food that I just saw a stranger open and touch?! Especially with the corona virus being a concern for New York, you would think people would take better caution. We got our order another ten minutes later and again, not one apology for the wait or for the mistake on their part. We won't be returning to this location. read more

I have been to several Tropical Smoothie locations before and I have always had a great experience...that is why I was completely surprised that in the Merrick location, it was not the same. The staff is completely RUDE! The first time I went, my order was wrong. When I brought it to their attention, the girl rolled her eyes. I am understanding to the fact that mistakes can happen, so I gave them a second try. I love most of the Tropical Smoothie branches, but my visit to the Merrick location was awful. There were three employees working who did nothing but talk to each other and I was ignored for a good 5 minutes before they even took my order (there was no one else on line and only one other person waiting for their order). I waited for about 20 minutes to get my smoothie and sandwich and the employees couldn't seem to care less. When I finally got handed my order the employee didn't even look at me and just kept talking to the other employees. Would not recommend. read more

I always enjoy a trip to Tropical Smoothie, and I was excited to see a new location I wasn't aware of. I ordered a chicken Caesar salad with no tomatoes and a Mocha Madness smoothie. The salad was great! The lettuce was crisp and the chicken was warm! The cheese was nice and moist and the Caesar dressing was very flavorful. The smoothie was very good as well! On an unrelated note, the girl who made and brought out my order was super cute. read more

I went there few times and I always liked it. This place is affordable and smoothies are delicious. They are a little short on staff, but employees are very nice and helpful. I would totally recommend it for summer afternoon with friends.
