This time because of ankle injury I did curbside and it was 10 minutes after before it was brought out, as the woman I could hear was negatively talking about me to another customer for me coming in for it. I tipped due to the fact I ordered curbside ahead of time and she didn't even say anything to me such as an apology for it taking 10 minutes past ready time to bring it out. To hear her being unpleasant about me to another guest not knowing my story was just disappointing and bad look for the business. We come here often for our regular smoothies, this time we decided to try the stitch smoothie with blue spirulina. It was very watered down and almost flavorless. We asked if we could swap to his normal drink order. We were told immediately no, and it isn't their fault if it doesn't taste good. I honestly never care to write reviews, but today I had an experience here that left me baffled and disappointed at the horrible customer service of this place. We bring our kids here for smoothies ALL THE TIME and while the people have never been overly friendly or welcoming, we overlooked it as we enjoyed their smoothies well enough. Today I ordered a smoothie for my son and paid 99 cents for their 'edible straw'. The older woman there handed him the straw and walked away. Within 10 seconds of him having it we noticed it was broken inside the paper wrapping. I told my son not to open it and we could ask for an unbroken straw. I politely apologized for 'being a pain' and asked if we could get one that wasn't broken. I was immediately met with hostility when she told me that she "checked" before handing it to us and it wasn't broken. Pointing at my 6 year old and insisting he is the one who broke the straw. Ridiculous. To be honest, even if he had accidentally broken it, it would have been ACCIDENTAL and she could have been nicer in her response to us. I probably would have just paid for another. I was so taken aback by how rude she was and then she proceeded to grab the box of unused straws to show me how none of them are broken "SEEEEE" she said. At this point my irritation took over so I showed her that I could clearly see a broken one in the box and pulled it out to show her. She still rudely refused and emphasized it was my sons fault. We left with the broken straw and will never go back. As someone who has spent my entire life working in customer relations, I can say this is absolutely horrible business and I will never spend another dime there. Tropical Smoothie Cafe has definitely been another welcome addition to the Bellevue area. We have a lot of "grab n go" type places, but not many healthy ones. The good: They have a great variety of smoothies and you can customize your healthiness level options on them. Their sandwiches and wraps are delicious. I'm personally a huge fan of the chicken pesto flatbread. Also, they have plenty of combination options for smoothie/wrap needs. The bad: Service. I know it's quick serve in and out, but the several times I've been there nobody has greeted me while they stand and look at their phones or just didn't care (minus the young gentleman with the glasses in the evening, I don't know your name but you are always helpful!). They do have an app so you can order ahead of time and just run in and pick it up without dealing with many human beings. If you order a combo though, you DO get chips with it so make sure to go to the chip rack and grab your bag since it's up to you to do that. Overall, I will return here for quick, healthy meals and I look forward to them working out all the opening kinks hopefully soon. read more

Initial frustration was we added smoothies to our food purchases and I noticed we were charged full price. I pointed to the large sign that stated the add-on discount (this is also a very common Tropical Smoothie add-on deal) and was told "we don't do that anymore". If so, it was confusing to me why the advertisement was still viewable to the public. I wasn't going to argue over a couple dollars so I moved on. We received our food fairly quickly but they seem to be rationing ingredients. I had 2 small pieces of chicken in my flatbread. We received a Baja chicken wrap that was mainly lettuce. The managers have absolutely no customer service understanding and are so rude to customers. The food is overpriced for really terrible quality (obviously frozen chicken, sour lettuce every time). I made my last visit here after being sent a coupon for filling out the survey the store sent me, then being told "we do not accept coupons ever." I explained that I was sent the coupon from the store and all the manager repeated was "no coupons never." I was so confused as to why they had sent it to me. The slaw is usually premade, today it was put some kale in a cup and squirt some dressing on it. When I got home, the slaw had spilled in the bag, a big mess!
