However today, Abby of what I'm told was the manager, had a terrible attitude and demeanor about her this morning. While in the drive thru today, I couldn't see of reach the machine they make you pay on, so when I shifted to see it I apparently pressed a button. Told her I didn't know how to get back, she rolled her eyes, took my card and was just outright rude. Treating your guests that way is no way to operate a shift to lead by example. read more

I had NO idea how much I would love Tropical Smoothie Cafe's HUMMUS VEGGIE BOWL! As you'd expect, the bowl features hummus, guac, romaine, kale, spinach, warm rice, black beans, pickled red onions, and tomatoes, topped with just a bit of ranch dressing. While I totally hate when I have to give a bad review and believe me it's a rarity, I feel it's only appropriate to be honest whenever visiting an establishment regardless of the experience. To get right to the point, my husband and I waited over 35 minutes in the drive thru. While waiting I had to use the ladies room so hopped out of the vehicle and headed inside where I saw many customers waiting for their orders, many of which had not the happiest of looks on their faces. When I made my way to the bathroom area there was a sign on the ladies room door stating it was out of order. I'd just finished a large bottle of water so Nature was calling and opted to use the men's room as it was a singular bathroom. When walking in my feet were sticking to the floor. I'm sure there could be a number of reasons why but I had to go so I went. I was brought up being told if a restaurant's bathroom isn't the cleanest to beware. This of course made me question do I really want to eat here? As I was leaving the restaurant I overheard a very unhappy customer saying that he'd waited over a half hour for his food and wishes to be refunded and that he no longer wanted the order. Can't say that I blame him. After getting back into my vehicle I relayed this info to my husband. We debated just pulling out of the drive thru but after waiting 25 minutes we figured what's a couple more minutes as we'd just finally placed the order at the intercom. Another 10 minutes went by waiting behind the vehicle in front of us whom was at the drive thru window when my husband said, we've been in this drive thru 35 minutes. From the looks of it, it was highly probable we were going to be waiting another 10-15 minutes before actually getting our food and with that thought we decided to leave as we'd begun to wonder what the actually quality of the food was going to be at this point and didn't want to waste our money or anymore time going in to get a refund should the food been gross. While we're sympathetic to the hit the restaurant industry had taken due to Covid, we've been told by others in the industry that things are really starting to turn around so we're unsure what exactly is causing the issue here but we wish them the best. read more

I ordered the chicken chipotle club with extra chipotle sauce on the side. When I received my order, there was almost no sauce on the club. I asked the worker if I could have the extra chipotle sauce that I had asked for. She asked her manager and the manager was telling her she put extra on it when I showed there was a drop of sauce on my club. The manager was talking to the worker and complaining when I was standing right there and being very rude, saying I have to pay extra if I want more when I ALREADY payed for extra. The manager was very rude and made my experience there VERY unenjoyable. I was being very nice and she was giving me an attitude. I did not appreciate it. Instead of just giving me extra after I asked nicely she was being disrespectful. Having recently moved back to MA from the greater DC area, we were missing our favorite spots and was so happy to see a Tropical Smoothie Cafe in Dartmouth! If you have their app, you can pay through it and earn points towards getting $5 off a purchase. Inside are a few tables and a bench to sit while waiting. During the warmer months that have tables outside. We have visited at different times of the day and they are consistently busy. Sometimes we have waited for our drinks or food for about 15-20 minutes. On occasion the smoothies (although still very tasty) have come out so thick that we couldn't drink them, we had to scoop them. literally doesn't matter the time of day, they're always slow. The last 4 visits I've been in line for 20+ mins. The final draw was when I had a craving for one at 7. I originally got here at 6, I was Stuck in line until 6:50. When I reached the window (at 6:50) they refused service. I understand closing a store in an appropriate manner but I was in line for that long & technically it wasn't 7 yet. I was furious. I just started coming to this place on Saturday. (Drive through) this is now my 4th time here and my second time here today. The workers on the speaker are very nice and respectful and helpful with questions that I had..... yesterday I was so sick, like deathly ill...... constant vomiting, nausea, brain zaps. Just felt so shitty. I got a bahama mama with extra coconut, chia seeds, and energy booster and by the time I had finished the smoothie I had felt 100% better. No more nausea, no more belly pain, no more vomiting, I had a lot more energy and was able to relax comfortably. This morning I had another smoothie of the same thing and still have not had the brain zaps back that I was dealing with for two weeks and I did not throw up today. I am trying to be a little healthier so right now I am in drive trough ordering another smoothie which is delicious by the way. The extra coconut really makes the drink, and I added a energy boost and vitamin c boost along with the chia seeds. The 99 cents for each boost is very absurd though. The first boost should be free and then 50 Cents after for each add on. I easily pay 8.90 for each smoothie. My only other complaint is that the lines are really really really long. I have been in drive through since 7:42. It's 7:54 and I still don't have my smoothie yet. I'll probably be coming here every day......... right now I am going to try one of their salads I ordered the Baja chicken one with no avocado. Probably a lot different than chipotle. Love the chia banana max smoothie and peanut butter cup ones! Tropical chicken sandwich is delicious too along with other sandwiches. My only issue is the drive thru orders. Convenient yet soooo slow. If it weren't for that this place would have five stars from me! Update. I recently used the app to order my food and you'd think it's less of a wait right ? Wrong. The food literally was done before my smoothie. The cashier asks "are you waiting for a smoothie?" And I replied with a yes, 5 minutes goes by and two people who came in after me in there ordered inside, and got their smoothies before me and were out! Meanwhile, I'm on a lunch break and decide that I'm eating inside rather than back at my job for lunch. I finish my sandwich and the kale slaw (which everything is on point and tastes great) but still no smoothie! I look at the counter and see two smoothies just sitting there, no one calls a name or anything and I walk up and ask, uh I ordered a smoothie that would be this color, is this mine? Sure enough it was mine, and it was just sitting there the entire time. All I got in return was a "my bad" by the cashier and nothing to compensate the terrible service. Literally my first time ever being here and I went with my boyfriend and we ordered but all I could smell was putrid garbage and that's all I could smell for my time inside the restaurant and when I finally got it I couldn't even take more then a couple of sips because it tasted of rotten fruit and even if it didn't I don't think I would have been able to stomach it due to the disgusting odor in the building. Only one register was open and the drive through. There were easily 8 people working in the kitchen area. Every smoothie I've gotten is refreshing and delicious. The ingredients used taste fresh and never freezerburnt or artificial. Although the smoothies can be pricy, the size of them is worth the money. It usually takes me a while to finish. On the other hand, the smoothies can sometimes be very thick which requires a little patience to let them thaw. Otherwise, the drinks are Grade A, with a very diverse selection. My one complaint is that the food, although delicious, can be rather pricy, and the waiting time on a busy night can take awhile. However, I've never had an unpleasant experience with any staff, and all the cashiers I've interacted with were really nice and let us take our time ordering. read more

I love tropical smoothie. This one unfortunately has a drive through, where I ever so stupidly went through thinking it will be faster. With one person in front of me, they ordered a single smoothie. My order had two wraps and a smoothie.. pulling up at the window after a 10 minute wait behind the people in front of me, I pull up and receive my food promptly- only to wait another 20 ( literally) minutes for JUST A SMOOTHIE!!! Smoothies are out of this world!! This is about our 5th visit to TPC and we enjoy it a lot. My 14 yr old daughter likes the Quesedillas and typically (being a kids size) that usually does the trick with the size of their smoothies on top of that being filling enough for a lunch. She also likes the Awesome Orange flavored smoothie. I have enjoyed the Totally Turkey as well as Turkey Bacon Ranch sandwiches. I have also tried Popeye's Favorite (toasted wrap) but wasn't much of a fan of the spinach artichoke spread. Very pleased with the friendliness and professionalism of all staff, even when my daughter dropped her smoothie outside, they refilled it for free. If I had any complaint it would be that the sizes of the large smoothie are big, and we haven't been able to finish them. Some flavors aren't listed in both sizes (small flavors kids meals only) and I think for less money ($4.29/ea for large size) the cups could be smaller and still be plenty enough. Long story short. Purchased 3 smoothies last week that were disgusting. Called store when I got home. Complained....they added my name to their book so the next time I went in I could receive 3 free. Went in today. I ordered 2, clerk proceeds to tell me I needed to take the 3 that were on the book. Told her we are only 2 as we stood in front of her. She insisted we must take the 3. I suggested getting a sandwich instead of the third. She told me that was fine then proceeds to ask for money. I told her I wanted to speak to the owner. She calls the own. The owners says no. I want to live this place for offering smoothies on the go, but do not be fooled: this is not health food! Any place that serves smoothies that run 700 calories and with 132grams of sugar (yes-see the menu's nutrition info) is serving the equivalent of ice cream milkshakes! They add Turbinado sugar to each smoothie and you wouldn't know it as it is written in tiny print on the menu up in the corner. You can request without or ask for splenda, but I do think they should remove the sugar all together. Delicous-yes. Health food? Not even close. read more
