First time trying Tropical Smoothie Cafe out of my home state, I've got to say.... I've never felt more disappointed in a chain I'm accustomed to loving and having 0 issues with. The service was horrendous. The staff clueless, my order (which I placed 5 hours in advanced for pickup), just so happened to have disappeared while I was there waiting for at the pickup booth. I was given attitude and 0 customer service credit or sympathies. Not a clean smelling location. Please avoid this spot and hire new staff that care about thier jobs. read more

Greeted immediately when I walked in. The nice cashier helped me decide what I could choose and I wasn't disappointed.

I received an email for a $1 off an Avocadolada smoothie, which was a special offer for National Avocado Day. Who knew? I loaded the offer to my app with some concern. My TSC app has previously malfunctioned inside of the store, so I have been unable to redeem the offers that I receive from time to time. I finally contacted app support today, so the issue must have been resolved because the app finally worked inside of the location. The shop was just like the other TSC locations. There was no one in front of me when I entered, so I was waited on immediately. I ordered the beverage and within about two minutes or less, the drink was prepared. The staff member handed me the drink, but did not say anything. Before I visited today, I looked at some reviews for this drink because even at a discounted rate, I still needed to enjoy it. The one review that I found was hopeful, so I decided to let my enjoyment for avocado guide my decision. The color of the drink was very much like the Island Green, which is my go to TSC smoothie. The first few sips reminded me of the Island Green flavor and then it fell flat. It was like a homemade smoothie, where you have the banana and not the strawberries to create the balance or the almond milk without a little orange juice to add some acidity. Of the combination ingredients, I could not single out one of them while drinking it. I personally would not order it again, but it was worth a try. It was refreshing and it featured some relatively healthy ingredients, so all was not lost. read more

This establishment gets better with time and I must say, I'm glad I suck around to witness it. My review is a exclusively for the smoothies and the exceptional customer service. I always plan to return back to try one of those menu items that always looks so good but I am always on the fitness move. This location has been close to my neighborhood for almost 2 years now. 1st couple times I came things were a little sketchy. When I say sketchy, I mean the smoothies were bland and the customer service wasn't up to par. But now with my more recent visits, oh my goodness! Things are looking great! They speak to you as soon as you hit the threshold, they make your smoothies and you receive it within 3 minutes. Now I look forward to returning back to this place not only because of their customer service but for their well crafted smoothies. One day I'm gonna grow up and try a food item!! This branch just opened right near stevenson university which is a great location! I've gone twice now and each time there have been people waiting and the students love it so far so I'm sure it'll do well. I haven't tried their food yet but have tasted two smoothies and they're okay. The detox island green was pretty good, but a little grainy (to be expected with kale and spinach) and the paradise point also was okay. I wish they had different sizes, their smoothie cup size is gigantic and I can't finish it! What a waste. I wish I also knew and had a say in what it's blended with. I think it's yogurt but wish they had almond or coconut milk options advertised. It's a bit better than smoothie king, but I prefer raw juice or smoothie bars myself (check out sunset raw juice bar just up the road)! read more

Each time, at least on five occasions I've been given a chicken quesadilla. Which means I'm waiting even longer for my food after returning it! But on my last and final time tonight patronizing this establishment....I asked for my same order, of course it was incorrect....the young lady that had to remake the quesadillas actually had an attitude with me for asking the staff to correct my order...bottom line last time I'm coming here! read more

Smoothies from this location Are never sweet enough and don't taste like the description. I even added turbinado sugar and it's still not sweet. I can tell they forget to add all ingredients in the smoothie because it taste so bland and flavorless. read more

First off I'm mad at myself for not realizing that they had a Tropical Smoothie location within minutes from my house for at least 2 years now...where have I been and what have I been doing??? But I digress...I arrived here after a 4 mile walk and was pumped to be getting a smoothie decked out with protein. It was early 07'04'20 and no other customers were in store when I entered, there were 2 female employees on duty and I was pleasantly surprised to hear the music pumping loudly at that early hour but it was welcomed and added to me staying pumped after my walk. I was greeted upon entry and I placed my order for the CHIA BANANA BOOST®, it has roasted banana, chia seeds, almonds, whole grain oats, cinnamon, dates & coconut with your choice of peanut butter or strawberries, of course I went with the PB! After placing my order, two other customers came in, one placed a really large order and the other a regular size order. I left off a star because the wait for my smoothie was 12 minutes...instead of switching off with the employee on the side, the first employee who took my order, stopped making my smoothie, took the very large order and the 3rd customers orders before getting back to putting my smoothie together, that was a long wait in my opinion to have a smoothie blended up...it was my first time trying this flavor and although the whole grain oats had me on the fence, it was really good! I'll be giving this location another shot and hopefully the wait to yumminess won't be so long. read more

I ordered online and went in 10 minutes later. My food was ready right after I walked in, but my smoothie must have gotten looked over. There were several other people inside and it took about 15 minutes for an employee to notice me and asked what i was waiting for. I got the buffalo chicken bowl with the plant based chicken (Beyond Chicken). As a vegetarian, i really enjoyed this option, and it allowed me to have many more options when ordering. Fresh salads and smoothies, at a reasonable price. I have been a few times after my workout to get something to refuel my body. I have enjoyed smoothies with and without pea protein, a hummus bowl and a chicken club on flat bread, that I split with my husband. All things have been delicious and filling. I like that the calories are posted next to each item, which help me to make a decision about a healthy choice. Yet, I was disappointed in the hummus bowl that I purchased. Since hummus is the first word in the name of this dish, I was expecting a serving that would signify that I was actually eating a meal with hummus as the main attribute. However, there was simply a tablespoon of hummus on my bowl. I immediately took it to the counter and they gave me a small condiment-bowl of hummus - without any issue. On another visit, my husband's mango smoothie was on the icy side and not like the smoothie he has ordered a few times before at this location and another near his job. So this is my 1st time trying this place. Just looking for alternative spots for my protein shakes. I gave it 3 stars to be fair. I think my expectations were set really high by the description of my drink and let's just say i was just bit underwhelmed. It wasn't bad, just not as flavorful as i had hoped! So I went to tropical smoothie in owings mills the service was great the young guy was very professional explained everything to me. Then I asked about using the bathroom he said they no longer let customers use it because they trash it. I'm like you charge me $13 for an ok grilled cheese and smoothie and I cannot use the bathroom the ownership needs to revisit this not happy. So I had to go next door to subway and spend $2 on some cookies to use the bathroom. read more

This is a very nice and convenient location. However some of the employees are not mindful of customer service. I left the gym early to make it to this location, he arrived at 8:50pm and the employee on duty said they were not serving food any longer because they close at 9pm. Literally all the food was put away and the food prep area was fully shut down. Not sure what close means but then it should say we close and don't serve before 9pm. Disappointed and may have to start going to another location. Would love to talk to the manager . read more

HORRIBLE SERVICE AND FOOD! *** Ordered hummus bowl, chicken pesto and smoothie in the middle of September. Bowl came with no hummus and no avocado (just rice and greens). I called the place and they offered the refund for the bowl. It's December now and still no refund. I've called the place several times and the manager assured me that the refund was on the way. While I was waiting for it I decided to give the place another try. Ordered 2 smoothies and in both found pieces of soft plastic! Unacceptable!!! Very satisfied! My mom suggested getting Smoothie King and I thought I remembered seeing there was a smoothie place closer to home. We decided to try Tropical Smoothie Cafe for dinner tonight. They were busy but everything came out correctly (even with modifications) and was delicious. A big plus is that they have a chicken substitute available - I'm a vegetarian and that really widened my menu options because I could get any of the wraps with the meatless version. Portions were really good and smoothies were delicious. Two of us got our smoothies without any sugar (you have the option of full sugar, splenda, half sugar, or no sugar) and they were still delicious and full of flavor! read more

I used to like going to this establishment every morning as I spent nearly $400 in 2 months. But today marks the day they will never get my money again. Or any of my friends. And boy do I know a lot of people because I am the one who told them about the place. My smoothies tasted bitter. I requested for a remake was denied multiple times then I finally asked for a refund! What company don't give you a refund or at least a remake of a product you are unhappy with. I'll wait. None. They will do either one to make sure the customer experience is a pleasant one. But MONICA THE "store manager" who has no one over her decided to take it upon herself and not remake my things or refund me and on top of it be very rude and disrespectful. the smoothies are usually good but not today. Got the kiwi quencher and they added so much sugar I spit it out. Smoothies are supposed to be kind of healthy otherwise they would be slushies- could not drink more than a sip AND don't get the bowls unless you want to throw away $8 on a bowl full of wilted brown inedible lettuce and 6 black beans. wont be ordering food there anymore- i doubt anyone who works there would have wanted to eat this joke of a mess. My advice- if a bowl comes with rice, let the lettuce be a topping, not the basis of the meal, pretty sure rice costs about the same as lettuce, also please dont add 4 cups of sugar to a 20 ounce drink. just a little common sense. read more

I have been here a few times since moving into the neighborhood The food is ok it does the trick. I like the variety of smoothies. Usually when I come here the employees give you that forced "hi can I help you" and I guess that's ok. I went in on this Saturday 10/20 and the employees were the most unfriendly and miserable I have seen. You could tell they did not want to be there especially the girl making the smoothies.
