It's summer, so I was hoping they wouldn't be crowded. I was reading their online menu. Most of their sandwiches have fun names. I looked at the steak sandwich section. There were no fun names. When I arrived at Koch's, I was greeted by a nice young man. I told him I review cheesesteaks but felt like I should get a sandwich that was more representative of Koch's. He suggested the Jewish Hoagie. I didn't realize how much he would change my life. I took my Jewish Hoagie to 2SP Brewing in Aston. I was taking pictures of my Jewish Hoagie at the bar. My new best friend Paul came over to ask where I got the hoagie. My Jewish Hoagie was amazing. Plus, it is fun to say 'My Jewish Haogie.'

I've heard great things from other crew members about this place, so I had to check it out. The shop itself is small and clean, and the staff was extremely friendly--honestly, friendlier than most people I've encountered in New York! I decided to go with the original cheesesteak, which comes with ribeye steak, fried onions, and Cooper Sharp cheese. When I finally found the place, I walked right in and there wasn't really a line to order. I got my order in right away, but I noticed there were about 10 people waiting for their food. After ordering, I ended up waiting about 25 minutes for one sandwich. To me, that was a little excessive and would probably keep me from coming back. There are plenty of other cheesesteak spots in Philadelphia that make a sandwich just as good, but get you your food much faster. That said, my rating is based on the cheesesteak itself and not the wait time. If I were rating the entire experience, this would probably be closer to three stars. As for the sandwich itself--it was hot, the meat was well seasoned and cooked to perfection, and it wasn't dry whatsoever. The Cooper Sharp cheese was melted throughout the sandwich, and there was just enough onion to complement the steak without overpowering it. The sandwich was a good size and had a generous amount of meat. You could really taste all of the individual elements, and they came together really well. Overall, it was a great cheesesteak. I understand that a freshly cooked sandwich takes time, but I was there around noon during the lunch rush, and I would expect a place like this to have sandwiches moving pretty quickly since everyone is there for lunch. Overall, it was a good experience. The staff was friendly, the cheesesteak was very good, and I'm glad I tried it. However, I probably wouldn't walk a mile to come back here again. Next time, I'll probably find a cheesesteak somewhere closer to the market and save myself the wait.

They serve you fresh waster (Drinks to order include Hanks, Boylan's, Harney and Sons, Teas etc.) and will serve you at the table or you can walk up and order at the counter. Their menu has a great mix of deli, steak, "chicken" steak, meatball, sausage and cutlet sandwiches with interesting flavor combos. You can also get breakfast (till 11AM) or a salad. They also have sides that include - tots, fried pickle chips, onion rings, fries, fried mozzarella and Zayda's pickle spears, chips and cherry pepper shooters. If you enjoy the somewhat newer Cooper sharp style that's out there you'll like theirs. The Cooper sharp was gooey, mixed in well with the meat and on the heavier side. The ribeye was thin cut, delicious and the portion was pretty hefty. Second visit I went with - The Nad - $15 Chicken cutlet, fresh mozzarella, prosciutto, arugula, Mike's Hot Honey that came on an unseeded Liscio's roll. The portion size was good, chicken was fresh with good breading, the hot honey was a tad on the heavy side, but the flavors all came together pretty good on this one. Sweet, salty, light bitterness from the arugula and some heat from the hot honey. I added Thin Cut Idaho fries to make it a combo for $3 extra and I have to say they were delicious. They smelled like McD's and tasted similar. They are cash only, but have an ATM on site. You can use a card if you order online. The one bathroom they have was pretty clean and organized. I will certainly stop back for a visit if I'm in the area to try out more of their menu. Thanks guys!
