Despite this, I decided to give them another chance before writing a review. I love that it's locally owned and operated by two sisters. The store exuded a charming and cozy-home-like atmosphere. During my recent visit, I noticed one of the owners sitting at a table near the register, engrossed in her laptop. It took her a moment to rise and greet me, asking "How can I help you?" Her lack of enthusiastic and energetic greeting made me feel like I was bothering her, and I almost considered leaving. I ordered two acai bowls and was glad when she agreed to swap out one of the toppings since my mom is allergic to strawberries. The highlight of my experience was my interaction with the owner's mom, who explained that she was filling in for one of her daughters while handing me my order. Her friendly demeanor made the experience more enjoyable. While I wanted to give a 3-star review, I decided to bump it up to 4 stars because I admire their commitment to promoting good health. However, this review is really a 3-star review because despite following the recommended instructions to freeze the bowls first for 10 mins before eating, the texture of the Acai bowls had both an icy and watery texture. It lacked the creamy consistency that I usually look for in a good acai bowl. Additionally, the toppings were sparse. I felt like I only got a teaspoon of granola. For $12.50, the bowl size was significantly smaller compared to other places I've been to. Overall, although I live very close to the place, I most likely will not return. They also ask you what base you want, almond milk, oat, etc. Just not whole milk. My first red flag was that the screen does not tell you the price. I had to ask the worker for the prices and it was $8 for my smoothie. Hmm.. okay. For 2025 prices, that's pretty normal. But when I got it, it was already melted. Nearly liquid. I took a sip, hoping maybe the flavor would be good... nothing. There was not an ounce of flavor in it. Not only was it already melted and runny, but I'm serious when I say this was one of the worst smoothies I've had. I literally drove to HEB down the street to buy honey for it, and it just made the smoothie taste like honey with no flavor behind it. And sitting there waiting for it was so awkward.
