I want to start by saying I travel at least 2-3 times a year and I always try and choose 5 star resorts/hotels. I will compare this hotel/resort to the TRS Yucatán (which I went to last year). As soon as me and my family (5 adults total) arrived, we did not feel welcomed. We were shoved aside and told to hold on. In TRS Yucatán we were greeted with champagne. As soon as a desk was opened we were taken to check in, my husband happened to have misplaced the ticket for our luggage, she asked if we could find it, after shoveling through all the papers from traveling she finally caved in and said it's okay we don't need it. We were told to walk around the place because we couldn't be given a room until 3 pm (it was around 1pm when we arrived). Okay, so we walked a bit and when we were tired we decided to head back to the front desk. We sat and saw that it seemed rather empty, so we asked if the rooms were ready, they told us to have a seat and they will let us know. After around 5 minutes a gentleman came up to us to bring us to our rooms. They separated us in different buildings, which was very inconvenient. My parents met their butler the moment they went to their room. My husband and I did not meet our butler until the second day and that's because we went to a different butler to request reservations to restaurants. Our butler was almost never at his desk and on 2 occasions he did not greet us good morning, when I said it, he did not even look up. In TRS Yucatán, our butler would always check on us and make sure our day was provided with transportation to all activities. During my stay here we walked so much in the heat it was unfair because the way the hotel is advertised is that there's a Spa, restaurants, events, Sports Bar etc...now it does not mention that it's shared by another hotel, Grand Palladium (a family resort). So in order to go to those facilities you have to WALK to the other resort because the cars are never able to take you there because "it's not their route" or they "do not give rides to TRS people". When I go on vacation, especially an ADULTS only, I did not expect to keep bumping into children. That was not okay. In many restaurants we did not feel welcomed. I do not know what was going on with their staff. The only ones I recommend is La Adelita, Freddy was our waiter and he was amazing. Also, Capricho our waiter, Pedro, was wonderful. The hostesses (at the desk) in Capricho gave us looks, which was not necessary, same goes for el Gaucho. The spa was really nice and the people there were amazing, all of them, I went to the spa and gym everyday. Our room was two floors, the AC was not very good, one of our fridges was broken, which they claimed they fixed, and room service always came 1 hour later. I do not recommend this place. I will be staying here one more day and I honestly can't wait to go home. read more
