    Can't wait to fall asleep

Savannah is a beautiful city. This Tru by Hilton fit right in. Friendly Staff. Clean room and a comfy king size bed. I was on the side opposite the street. There was minimal noise. It made for a really restful night.

My husband and I chose to stay in Midtown for this trip to Savannah instead of the Riverfront. The hotel was just perfect for an overnight stay. It's conveniently located near shopping and restaurants. We were greeted by the front desk staff upon entering. The lobby was clean as well as the back patio area. The room was clean and had everything we needed. The beds were pretty comfortable platform beds. I like the fact that they have squeeze bottles instead of the pump ones for body wash, lotion, shampoo and conditioner. I'm not one for unpacking my suitcase or travel backpack. So not having any drawers in the room didn't bother me at all. Not having a closet, again didn't bother me either. There is a bar to hang your items if you just absolutely have to. There's an iron and ironing board, as well as a mini fridge. A small desk/work space and a bench for sitting or luggage. There's also hooks for hanging other items. The breakfast was decent. Eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits, grits, pancakes, bagels, fruit, cereal, yogurt.

One of the smoothest experiences for checking in and checking out. Great location; close to tons of stores and restaurants. Well-lit parking lot. Clean facilities; the elevators always smelled fresh. Clean room. Gotta love breakfast that's included. I liked that the board by the elevators highlighted local spots for food and entertainment.

We stayed at this hotel in Savannah because it had free parking and free breakfast. The rate was really good and it was only 6 miles from downtown. You definitely need a car to go to/from the Historic distric. We got a room that was nice and compact. Clean and very well appointed. The pillows were very soft, so I asked if they had firmer pillows and they brought me two within like 5 minutes of the phone call. The breakfast was ok, all the hot items were very salty for me....sausage and the eggs. Nice selection of cereal, grits and yogurt. We stayed a Sunday night and around midnight up until 1:30am, the lounge across the way (The Odyssey) started letting their patrons leave....they made such much noise....it was hard to sleep for a few hours. Next time, ask for a room facing the front of the building, not the Odyssey side. Nice common areas to play a few fun games and even board games. Tru by Hilton is an American brand of hotels trademarked by Hilton Worldwide. The hotel brand was announced in January 2016 and it was designed to compete against Aloft, Comfort Inn and La Quinta. The goal was to create rooms of 228 square feet with "clever" bathrooms. The brand uses platform beds instead of box springs and uses a landing zone where guests can place their luggage and hang their clothes rather than a dresser. Hilton realized that they could shrink the width of the room from the typical 12 feet to 10 feet because typically the TV cabinet would take up 2 feet, but with flat screen TV's the space could be spared. The desk that was decided to be used is a portable chair attached to a table allowing the guest to use the chair wherever they want in the room. As of 2021, there were over 180 properties.

My Google review didn't show up, guess they (Tru Hotel) paid to have it removed. I'm here writing on Yelp. This was our second stay here this year and this stay was not good. Our first stay back the first week of April 2022 there was an older African American lady that was super nice, professional, accommodating. She provided white glove service, we had an amazing room with a nice comfortable bed. Hence our return to TRU Savannah Midtown for a second stay. Second stay this past Sunday 2022. The bed was hard as a rock! Your beds should be consistent. The noise level incredible! You can hear the people above you and beside you! Hotel should have used sound proof sheetrock. The room was smaller from the first time we stayed at the property. The hotel floor (2nd) smelled like a marijuana smoke fest. It smelled bad! The pillow was dirty! I always check sheets, pillows, etc. Please review uploaded picture. Needless to say, we will not stay at this Hilton property in Savannah again!

Nice assortment of shampoo conditioner and soap

The room was clean. The bed linens were fresh and the bathroom was clean. However there was a strange odor in the room that wouldn't go away. The free breakfast well that was a joke. Not what was in add at all. See pictures below.

Had to return and change my rating as the team sent me a email that was passive aggressive because they didn't like my review. I will not be recommending this Hilton establishment to anyone stay at a Home2. Room is minimalist which is fine by me as we usually don't hang out in them. Not recommending for those Military TDY or PCS as just to small for a long stay. The shower was great. Bed was nice with good pillows. We usually stay in the Home2 but on this trip we wanted to be closer to our daughter as it was a short trip. I usually walk up and down the stairs so I judge the overall cleanliness by the stairwells yup I know most forgotten spot by cleaners and not usually seen by many. The stairwell had one just one bud yep I know what a dubby bud looks like I was young once. And, we had kids now grown adults. This stairwell was used by the staff so they should of seen it. In Savannah so expected let me lead off as Savannah is not my favorite place people are rude in general. But, Miles was pleasant and was there the most. Met him at check in and out. There was a young woman also didn't catch her name but wasn't same caliber at Miles in the customer service realm. She and husband or boyfriend worked morning shift on our first morning. Breakfast is alright the coffee strong and hot. Let's go back to the room. It was clean AC not cool enough for us and loud but no louder than other units at other hotels. Walls thin heard everything next door. Shades not darkening so room bright at night. Light socket without proper cover. Would I stay here again? Answer no mainly because it wasn't dark enough for us. Oh forgot to meant the sign the woman put out as she showed off her new car to a vendor during the busiest checkout times and breakfast which needed to be changed as it was stained and unprofessional.

This is a really nice pet-friendly hotel. Convenient off the expressway. I use this hotel when having to travel to the area. Not as fancy as other Hilton Hotels but for an overnight stay it's dooable.

The staff was very accommodating throughout our stay. Being that I lived in Savannah 20 years ago, I have bragged about how incredible Savannah's hospitality is and the staff here definitely showed up. Huge thank you to Joey, Jackie, Cindi, and Darnell or as I refer to them as the dream team for making our stay so incredible. I hope they promote you all into management. Our room was absolutely beautiful and comfortable. Honestly, one of the best beds I have ever slept on. Perfect if you have jet lag. I love that the toiletries have peppermint so you repeal bugs, which is a must in the south. Great alternative if you forget the bug spray. There's a coffee bar, restaurant, and a speakeasy bar that was Alice and wonderland themed. In the afternoon you are offered champagne, which is such a nice touch. They have bikes available to sightsee rather than walking. This hotel is close to everything in case you want to walk and explore shops, dining, etc. Overall, this hotel is beautifully decorated and charming. Something Savannah is known for. I highly recommend this hotel. Especially because it's pet friendly!

This is my second review. I originally removed my first post after management reached out to…read moreresolve the situation, but after a continuous cycle of shifting timelines and misleading information, I feel compelled to share the full experience. My AirPods were stolen by the staff here on the 17th. While I finally recovered them on the 29th, it was entirely due to my own efforts, not the hotel's. I had to file a police report and track the devices on the Find My app, watching them travel to a private residence before making their way back to the hotel days later. Getting answers from management was incredibly difficult. I was repeatedly promised callbacks--first at 3:00 PM, then at 4:00 PM--only to be completely ghosted for an entire day. Management only took the situation seriously after I posted my initial negative review. Once the review was live, the interim manager called immediately, offering 20k Hilton points as a goodwill gesture and claiming it would cover a night at "most places." Wanting to cooperate and focus on getting my property back, I agreed to take the review down. The poor communication continued with the shipping process. Management promised to overnight my AirPods the next morning, but the Find My tracking showed the AirPods still at the hotel until I followed up yet again to ask why it hadn't been dropped off at FedEx. It has now been a week since the points were promised, and they still have not arrived. When I followed up, the interim manager claimed the system takes two days to process them - meaning the request was never actually submitted when promised last weekend. Furthermore, the information provided about the loyalty program was incorrect: I was told the points do not expire, but Hilton corporate policy states they expire after 24 months of inactivity. The valuation is also incredibly misleading; 20k points does not cover a night at "most places," especially considering a single night at this exact property costs 66k points. While the staff member Michael was pleasant to deal with, the interim management team simply said whatever was necessary to get a negative review removed, with zero genuine follow-through. I highly advise travelers to keep a close eye on their belongings and be wary of management's promises.

You can hear your neighbors :) It's crazy how the elevator was being serviced DURING BREAKFAST one morning and everyone had to use the stairs. It was especially bad because someone in my party needed to use a walker due to their bad knees. We had to carry the walker up and down the stairs and they were literally crawling to go up and down. I asked one of the male staff about it in the front desk and they said that there was nothing they can do and that the elevators will be both back up at 8:30 AM. We went out and took a stroll, came back around 9:00 AM and the elevators were not yet fixed. It was just ridiculous! Later on in the day, they managed to get ONE of the elevators working :) The next morning, we went to breakfast at 7 AM and everything is broken! Only one elevator is working, there is no coffee at all, no pancakes, and even the juice machine got hit! It was honestly insane. If you go on vacation, just go somewhere else.

We were pleased with room placement with balcony in furthest east Bldg (3Muses). We were advised water-facing rooms can be noisy. On that note, by the third and final night, Friday, this past weekend, we learned that the cobblestone street outside was quite noisy as well. Fortunately, on weekend, just after midnight, revelry noise level moves down from the billiard Halls across from our room. (Ear plugs were furnished in the room :-) Even so, we enjoyed the balcony for the mornings and pre-dinner hour: it was ambience into our room as we were getting ready for our various comings/goings. The medium-ish sized pool featured brrrrr water; not yet nuked by summer's power! But it was enjoyable for a refresh. It got unbelievably crowded on Friday afternoon, so glad we generally came earlier in the day. Fortunately my work Conference: buffet style food supplied by JW was above-average, 4* food for Conference food (3* if judged on its own merit). But we enjoyed the on-site dining from which we tried small plates from the African restaurant, fish at the seafood bar outside the main building; my wife enjoyed the breakfast dishes from the coffee shop in the main building. Andaz Savannah Hyatt does not post signs nor mark the spots nor have any gate or signs to know what part of the garage they leased. Instead have sensors in the unmarked spots and tow without bothering to post any sign. Completely predatory. Sensors cost more than signs. They should put up signs. This is a very unethical dirty hotel that is doing harm to the city and the community. I went to a conference in Savannah, and carpooled with a coworker. We had gone to park at the Whittaker Street Parking Garage. On level P3, we went through an open gate to get in, and then needed a swipe card to get out. Half that floor is marked with "reserved for" signs, hanging from the ceiling and on the wall and concrete support columns by each parking spot. Those were something like reserved for a condo or something, not Andaz. Half is not marked at all. This is like a line down the middle half. The south part of the garage was marked; the north part was not. Line down the middle like 2 sections. Because the half that was marked said towing, my coworker had stayed in the car, and I went to go find the parking attendant to confirm we were parked in a public paid spot. On the street level, the security for Savannah said that where we were parked was OK, and that all reserved spots have to be marked. She told me where to find the parking attendant. The parking attendant said that all reserved spots are marked, and that unmarked spots are for the public paid parking. I went back to the car to tell my coworker that we were good to go. Well, it had taken me easily 20 minutes due to there is one single attendant. Lucky us, because when I got back, an Andaz Savannah Hyatt employee was there with my coworker saying he would towed. Apparently, rather than put up signs in their reserved spots, the Andaz Savannah Hyatt puts sensors pointed at each spot to detect a car, and then orders a tow. A sensor has to cost more than a sign. That's so dirty and immoral to not post a sign, and then to tow people. The two employees of the city and of the parking garage said that that was a public paid spot based on there not being any posted signs that it was reserved. Andaz Savannah Hyatt just cannot be bothered to communicate. They will tow, bill for the tow, mess up transmission on a four wheel drive, and stick that whole mess of theirs onto regular people. Because they can't be bother to even post a sign. Also to leave, we had to drive out an "in" gate, which apparently they leave the "in" gate permanently up for cars to drive through, then have a billing "out" gate that you have to swipe the card and be billed to leave. Like a trap. No signs when you come in, and no signs on their entire half of the P3 level. I am certain what they are doing is illegal, to tow without having any posted signs at all on their half of the garage. When I searched, Georgia law requires 12x18 inch no parking signs or a sign at the gate. Andaz Savannah Hyatt had a permanently open gate for entrance, closed gate for exit, and absolutely no signs on what the employee of Andaz said was the Andaz parking. And said he would have towed if my coworker weren't there in the car. Well, it's travelers and tourists, so Andaz Savannah Hyatt can get away with it, because they rob from people who don't live in the city. They break the law, and harm the community. This hotel is doing dirty. What else are they doing. Nope, nope, nope. Badly run and cannot be trusted. Even if you are not a customer, the Andaz Savannah Hyatt will harm you just for being nearby.

I would think that quiet hours for the pool would be 9 PM, but apparently they aren't. I believe they are 10 PM. There was a group of what appeared to be teenagers screaming nonstop for about three hours straight. I don't know, if I was staff at a hotel, I would probably tell them to keep it down after 8 PM, but that's just me. It sounds like the rooms on the other side of the hotel are really noisy as well, so I guess moving and wouldn't have done much. The valet took a really long time in the morning. I wouldn't have minded that if they would have told us in the beginning, but when you check in, they tell you to give them five minutes to retrieve your vehicle. It took the guy 20 minutes to respond to my request (I was first in the queue) and I had to go walk down and grab the car myself because I needed to leave immediately. It sounds like he was managing two properties, so not his fault. When not knowing where the valet was, the front desk wasn't helpful. She kind of dismissed the issue. She did end up calling him, but she didn't act like she cared about our situation at all in the beginning. It actually prompted us to take action and another gentleman waiting for his car went and looked in the valet garage to see if somebody was even there because he was having the same issues. Anyways, my first and last time staying at this hotel. Too many other options in the area. I really need a reliable valet, unfortunately.

I was honestly frustrated by my stay here, especially after reading past reviews…read more For years, guests have mentioned the truck noise, and management keeps replying with the same line about "sharing feedback with the appropriate teams." After staying here, it's clear nothing has actually changed, which is disappointing. I was on the 5th floor facing Bay Street, which turns out to be a major truck route near the interstate. The AC unit was loud, so I turned it off since it was cool outside. That's when the real issue became obvious. There's a traffic light right by the hotel, so trucks constantly stop, idle, and then accelerate again. The noise was incredibly loud, to the point where it felt like I was standing right on the sidewalk. Sleeping was difficult. It also made me wonder about room assignments. If this has been a known issue for years, you'd think they'd avoid placing guests with status in those rooms. A quieter-facing room would have made a big difference. There were a few other issues: * Couldn't access the pool or jacuzzi with the digital key (only the gym worked) * The jacuzzi itself looked worn and in need of refinishing * No complimentary water in the room or lobby, which is surprising given the Savannah heat (though there were cookies and coffee downstairs) * Toilet seat was oddly shaped and uncomfortable * Bedside lamp outlets were loose and didn't hold a charger securely * The clock on the nightstand was extremely bright at night with no way to dim it On the positive side, the lobby has a nice fireplace, and I appreciated the bathroom nightlight. All the staff I encountered seemed very young, under 30, which made me wonder if most roles here are entry-level. I couldn't help but notice a consistent pattern in who was working which positions, while visiting the south. Overall, the biggest issue is the noise and the lack of real action on something that's been raised repeatedly over the years.

Everyone was friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was included, plus an evening gathering with a historian one night, a singer one night, and a harpist. Every place from the restaurants to the waterfront were all a 10 minute walk or less! Highly recommend!

The Marshall House is located directly on Broughton St near shopping and restaurants, and it's within walking distance of pretty much everything you will want to see! You will barely need a rental car for your trip. Despite being on the main road, I found the hotel to be pretty quiet! The historic inn is beautifully restored. Each room is unique. If you're lucky enough to get a front-facing room on the second floor, you have access to the shared balcony overlooking the street. My room was cozy and comfortable! There are cozy bathrobes in each room. The Marshall House has some unique amenities. They provide bottled water (both cold and room temperature) by the main desk for hotel guests! So great during the summer heat. They also have a complimentary wine and cheese reception every evening in the Library with entertainment (musicians, lectures, trivia, etc.) so make sure to include that in your trip itinerary! Breakfast is also included with the price of the room. Breakfast is served in the atrium off the library. You are seated by the wonderful staff, and then you check off/circle your order on the menu they provide. Breakfast comes off of a buffet, so it's a little odd not to just help yourself, but service is super quick! The Marshall House is in the running for most haunted hotel in the country, but I didn't have any ghost encounters while I was there unfortunately. It was fun to hear the stories of other guests and to learn more about the history of the hotel! I highly recommend staying at the Marshall House if you're looking for a comfortable stay in the perfect walkable location!

There's something bittersweet about Hotel Bardo. It feels like someone really cared when they built…read moreit -- beautiful design, thoughtful touches, and great amenities. But since then, it seems like no one's paid attention to the details that actually make a stay feel 5-star. We stayed just one night and noticed several things that made the experience feel less than premium: * Curtain was literally held together with paper clips * Bathroom sink barely drained * No "do not disturb" hanger for the door, had to request one * Vacuuming started in the hallway at 7:15am * Gym had beautiful treadmills with screens and free earbuds -- but the internet was down, so none of t worked To their credit, they did offer to send someone to fix the sink... but on a one-night stay, why would I want to spend part of it with someone working on the pipes in my bathroom? That's something that should be checked before a guest ever walks into the room. There were some nice touches: a complimentary car service, wooden room keys, a convenient texting system, and solid amenities (though we didn't use many of them). That said, I couldn't help but feel like we were placed in a neglected room -- possibly because the stay was part of an Amex Platinum perk. And honestly, if I'd paid $275-$400+ out of pocket for this room, I'd be much more upset. Not trying to be petty -- but let's be real: at a true 5-star hotel, I expect a seamless experience where my basic needs are handled without me having to ask. Hotel Bardo, unfortunately, missed that mark.

The cons; during our stay, we had trouble the entire time getting the room to cool down, we had the air set at 64 but could not get the temp of the room beneath 73. I complained once and they said maintenance would take a look but nothing happened and I didn't get a follow up. We didn't get informed about ANY of the imenities of the property when we checked in including hotel cars, bikes, etc... also, the front desk staff told us there were pickleball and tennis courts so we walked over only to be let down that the courts were just for tennis, why would they lie about that? Lastly, it was dissapointing when we would go out to the pool and couldn't get two chairs for the both of us. All in all, I would probably go back but with some reservations, I agree with other reviews you don't get what you pay for here from a service perspective and 5 star treatment.
