Absolutely the worst business I have ever witnessed in my entire life!! I went in for a wound. The dr didn't even touch the wound, she just said "it's healing well". All she was interested in was looking at moles and cutting them off. I paid my total before I left the office. No one called me with results for well over 3 weeks. Once they called, they were only interested in making THREE more appointments to remove more of the moles. They refused to do all three at once due to "insurance". I reminded them that I was cash pay but again they told me they could not do it in one visit. All they want is to make as much money off of you as possible. Now let me discuss their phone system. YOU cannot GET A HOLD OF THEM! I've called the office, numbers online, on receipt, I've left messages, I've waited on hold for 40 mins, they NEVER call you back! I recently received another bill, which I'm happy to pay, but I have no idea what the extra cost is for and there is absolutely no way to get a hold of a person to ask. I don't understand the negative reviews. I am very very satisfied with Tru-Skin in Bastrop, so much so that I'm embarrassed to say how far I drive for an appointment here. Rural healthcare is the pits and thankfully quality drs and staff are coming to the more rural areas. I'm almost 70, spent my younger years on the beaches in Hawaii, Texas and Florida, therefore lots of sun damage. For the last 25 years I've seen a derm at least every 6 months. Many surgeries, excisions and treatments for BCCs and AK's. I've seen Dermatologists that run you thru like cattle, miss spots that the next one finds, Drs who don't see well and allow their nurses to spot the cancers. There are Drs that are more about the cosmetic side. And some that are hard to work with on the insurance side. And many clinics don't know about or offer the latest technologies. NONE OF THAT HERE. I see Dr. Ma at this clinic. She was recommended to me by a friend who sees her in Hallettsville. I had a great Dr but he moved. She's as good as my last if not better. She's knowledgeable, efficient, great at explaining, respectful and she's fast. The staff is also great: receptionists, billing, nurses.. they also offer the latest (and greatest) treatment for BCC and SCC which is GENTLE CURE. It's a commitment but well worth avoiding more disfiguring scars on my face. Their Radiology Technologists are the best. It beats Mohs surgery by a mile!! I highly recommend this clinic. read more

While I believe this office (Bastrop) does good work, they are very cut happy. I went in for hives and the doctor cut a spot off my leg and sent it pathology. This cost me $400. Never was I told an estimate for this procedure. I am sure I signed something in the million forms I filled out but it would be a curtesy to patients to have a reminder and full disclosure regarding bills outside the office at the time of the procedure. the folks at Tru-Skin Dermatology in Bastrop have a solid practice and many patients including me and my family. Their staff does a good job of scheduling appointments and processing patients, however they have a very odd and somewhat unkind setup for the person who handles co-payment and insurance verification. They have their unfortunate employee stuck inside a windowless room that looks like it was originally an equipment closet. There is only a small service window to process patients and it feels like the employee is being punished or something by being made to work inside this tiny space with very little connection with co-workers or the outside world. Certainly, the business owner can come up with a more humane solution for the person who works in this capacity. It always make me feel bad for their miserable situation! read more

I'm a new patient and I was able to make an appointment online without having to wait months to see a specialist. Bethany is so amazing and truly cares about your needs and concerns you may have. I have a pleasant time each visit. My Derm is Dr. T.O, and I feel comfortable knowing that my Derm is someone who is of my race and ethnicity. You have no idea how long I longed for a Derm that understands Black skin! I plan to go to Dr. T.O as long as possible. read more

Writing this review specific to the Bastrop location. They people are shysters. Due to previous billing issues (I paid in full after my visit and they sent me to collections re: other charges they 'left out') they make me sign a paper detailing the charges that I would have after my treatment. Today, after I signed the document with the line items and total, they SCRATCHED OUT the total and added another $90 to the bill. When I asked about it, they called me a liar, said that I signed it right in front of them - and that was B.S. When they looked into it and realized I was right, I was offered no apology, no excuse, only another bill. Lab fees went up almost 80% and there was no disclosure of that until after the money was owed. If the gold-plated apple watches were not enough to tip me off, the fact that they sell GIFT CARDS for their DOCTOR'S OFFICE should have been the clue - these people only care about money. read more
