When the 4 other customers that came in after me, they were all greeted. My complete this time is regarding the tall Hispanic girl with long hair that rang up my item. Trudy's Hallmark near Marble Slab, in Sugar Land, doesn't recognize that to promote ethnic diversity, you must also include cards with white people on them. Yes, we are STILL here and you are slowly but surely finding that out. Take down your blinders and look around. I should be able to respect, recognize, have multi-ethnic friends and still pick out an anniversary card for my wife that has a straight and white married couple on it. Working with this store over the phone and at the stores has been SUPER frustrating. The inventory of a certain item was unavailable. Yes it was a popular product and they did not plan accordingly. We had to go to another store to find the product only to learn that they had one left and it wasn't working properly. After a long frustrating call to order it over the phone, we tried online. That was initially a fiasco as well. The account wasn't accepting the rewards number and we had to call for assistance. The phone call was handled by someone with a strong foreign accent and we couldn't understand them. And they couldn't understand us either. They put us on hold several times. We finally just stopped the call and hung up. Once we got the online account issue resolved, we ordered the product. It arrived after a couple days, but it didn't work. I contacted the customer care team on the phone and they couldn't understand my situation again. She couldn't even find the order. My last attempt was through the online chat. I had Abril H help me and she resolved my issue by sending a new item. As I said, this has been a nightmare. All over one product. The manager was saying something about they make two scents and I picked up the lighter version I called the company they said that it was not true. My wife and I went to Trudy's Hallmark the day after Christmas. She had two coupons, one for 30% off and the other a $5 rewards coupon. They accepted BOTH coupons with no issues. So, we bought a $25 marked item (regular not sale price) and paid about $12 for it. Not a bad deal to me. So, if you sign up for their rewards you do get some benefits out of it. Sometimes they send you multiple coupons (email and house mail). You need to look at the numbers to make sure they are not duplicated. They won't accept duplicate discounts. I think this is the issue some people are having when they try to use coupons and they won't accept them. The coupons are scanned at the register so it's not like they are denying the coupons for reasons some may suggest. I think this is a policy at most retail stores. read more

I use to shop here all the time. I love Hallmark but I will never go back to this store. Two years ago on Tuesday December 2nd is a day that still bothers me. I like everyone else was shopping for gifts and Christmas orngments but while checking out with an older women. I was in shock for being hated for my skin color she treated me with such hate, the tone of her shaky voice was so unnecessary. I couldn't understand why she was talking to me that way. Why she was so mad at me? So rude over a normal transaction and using the purple coupons for members. I left and cried in the parking lot but hoped I was over assuming and reacting. I called my husband because I couldn't even drive I was so emotional. I left but couldn't shake it off and days later I returned the items. When asked why I was returning them I told the young cashier why. The cashier whispered that I should report her because she herself was disgusted with way she treated people for no reason. So I did. The manager defended her. I had to cover my face, as tears rolled down my face. I could barely get my words out. I still spoke softly not to disturb the other shoppers. I felt like she wasnt even listening to my concerns, like she wasnt even moved. I left and again cried in the parking lot. So I called and requested the main office and spoke to the owners son. He said she had worked there for years and he has never heard of any complaints but would look over the situation and requested my address to mail a gift card to use at another location in Pearland Tx. Horrible customer service. Went in to the shop on a Saturday around lunch time. I was with my fiancé. There were two other guests in the store. They were checking out. We were in the store for approximately ten minutes; I had every intention of making a purchase. The employee working could not be bothered to even acknowledge that we had come in to the store. She had plenty of time to chat with the elderly women at the cash register for ten minutes though. It would lead me to believe that the younger couple with tattoos and brightly colored hair were not her base customer group, therefore she didn't bother give us any attention. Too bad. We left empty handed, and I was pretty annoyed. I reached out to the shop via FB messenger with the complaint/feedback. They never responded. I reached out again. You can see their response. She was an older Caucasian lady and had an attitude problem when we checked out. (Sarcastic attitude when inquiring about the price of the items we purchased, which were on sale). I was surprised to find that this particular Trudy's Hallmark wasn't part of the Yelp listings. Well, I think they are quite deserving of a spot on Yelp so I listed them for all to see. Why? Because I happen to like this particular Hallmark. This store is well stocked, has a great variety, always clean, has a friendly and helpful staff and you can always find that last minute gift idea here. What more could you want from a card store? The Christmas ornaments are just too adorable. There's an ornament for everyone and, yes, even one for that Grinchy type person. There's many birthday, anniversary and other occasion cards to choose from, as well. They range from humorous to sentimental and "special occasion fancy" to "just because casual". Prices vary so you can spend what you want. The location is off Williams Trace in the First Colony Commons shopping area, rather than the actual freeway. We came out to this store to exchange a bracelet for a different size that they had and the other location did not and arrived there at 7:23pm and as we walked to the door a lady with an English accent came running to the door and I mean running to lock it before we got to it. I stopped her and asked if we could just get the bracelet exchanged and she starts to say something and closed the door and the operation hours are till 7:30 we drove out from Rosenberg just for this and I told her that she did not care. I love Hallmark and all the unique items that they carry, but after today I will not be returning to this location (customer service is horrible). I went in yesterday and purchased a frame (a couple weeks ago I purchased one from the same collection), and I did not realize that the wording was the exact same, so I went in to exchange the frame for something else today. I had a 40% off coupon that I used yesterday and she told me that I could not use it on the new item (basically coupon was no longer valid). I thought it was strange so I asked the other associate if that was correct, well Sheena did not like that I idea and was really rude and ugly to the young lady(she was loading my points that Sheena failed to do). I was in disbelief and if I didn't have my son with me I probably would have walked right back in and returned the item I purchased. I heard her from the front of the store say, "Did she ask you about it, I told her no its one time use" her tone and attitude was horrible.
