This is a really cute hole in the wall spot. Parking is super limited but this plaza was also super empty. I came here for lunch on a Friday. There was no one in there and only one person came as my friend and I were leaving. Everything is made fresh to order so it can take about 20 minutes. The food was super delicious and I ate it up. The tiramisu is not made to order. It was frozen when we got it and stayed frozen for a good while. We didn't get to finish it. Service is super awesome. The lady is super nice. First time trying True Love Kitchen and it's definitely a small, hole-in-the-wall spot but those are usually the best kind. The food did not disappoint. I ordered the chicken and beef lula plate, and it was delicious. The meat was juicy, and cooked just right. The portions were solid, and everything tasted fresh and flavorful. Restaurant is small with a few tables. I got their Filet + Chicken Thigh Combo for about $20. It comes with rice, grilled jalapeño, grilled tomato, hummus and pita. As far as price goes, I think its a bit higher compared to other spots like Hummus Labs and Pops. The food is clean and simple and everything tasted great. We found this gem close to our office in Rosemead. It is located in the strip mall, a bit run down outside. But the service and food are so good! The owner (I think) is super nice and explained to us their signature dish and kept us informed on the progress of the food. Everything is freshly made including hummus. Greek salad is also awesome! The chicken kabob is to die for. So tender and so flavorful! Two colleagues ordered beef kabob. They said that they are very good too! They have a simple divider/plaster separating the dining area and kitchen so I don't know if they're planning on putting something more permanent in place in the future. The food took a while to prepare, and you can smell the smoke from the kitchen. Food: - Lule chicken and beef plate: Comes with a skewer of ground chicken and beef each served on a bed of rice, along with a roasted tomato and pepper, hummus, and Mediterranean salad, with a round of pita bread. I prefer my roasted tomato to be cooked for longer, but this one was on the firmer side. The portion and variety is decent for what you're paying for, but I did think the hummus, Mediterranean salad, and pita bread tasted store-bought as opposed to homemade. - Filet mignon plate: the filet mignon was really good, and can be cooked to your liking. It is more expensive, but it was very tender. Comes with all the sides mentioned. - Cheese bread: this was the special of the day, and was listed as homemade but didn't really taste like it either. It was served cold, in the filling was crumbled cheese. I guess I was expecting some kind of melted cheese on top of a sliced bread, but this was more of a cheese pastry to me. Overall, this is a good place for a quick lunch to go, but not the best spot for dining in, larger parties, or family settings.
