My girlfriend lives nearby and when I first suggested this spot, I was surprised she had never tried it. We've been to Chop Chop Chicken several times since then and it's always so good. I love their Chop Chop Combo Bowl with their Spicy Chipotle Sauce, Habanero Sauce, and Garlic. I'm generally not the biggest fan of Jasmine rice but theirs is amazing. It turned out to be all that I wanted and needed. The gal behind the counter was friendly and very helpful. I asked about the different bowls (depends if you want rice with your steamed veggies or not), and the many sauces (3 free per order, which is plenty). I asked for her favorite and included it with my trio. I had the Chop Chop Chicken Bowl (with Habenero, Pomegranate, and Creamy Chipotle Sauces on the side). The chicken was nicely prepped. Moist, flavorful with a mild (maybe) paprika. This relatively neutral flavor is welcome because otherwise, those sauces are out of a job! But seriously, it's fun to try different sauces and see what you like. I liked the steamed veggies, too. Cooked just enough, they add a nice balance in flavor and texture here. The jasmine rice was perfectly ok, though probably the weakest element in the Bowl. There are several places near by - with chains, fast casual and even a few independent restaurants, too. Garlic sauce is herbaceous creamy garlic spread. Must have! Spicy chipotle is more smoky than it is spicy. This was my favorite! Creamy chipotle is very creamy, on the rich side but very tasty. Habanero, the spice hits late for me. But the spice is most definitely there so use with caution Pomegranate was so watery it was almost more like a vinaigrette. If you are health conscious but don't want a salad they can customize your bowl with more roasted veggies less rice or whatever combination you want. We got extra chicken for $6 extra on our bowl. I think that's what I'll get next time cuz the roasted veggies were really good! My bowl had a LOT of rice, I couldn't finish my bowl. Pro tip: you can ask for all the sauces! read more

Healthy and I appreciated the chicken wasn't cooked in heavy oil the way some restaurants can use. I did feel the veggies lacked seasoning? Idk while the bowl was a great healthy option, I felt it needed a little more than the pomegranate sauce. Maybe I needed the spicy chipotle.. the salad was fresh and had crisp lettuce. Simple with iceberg, tomato, onion and a vinaigrette that was mainly more on the bottom of the lettuce but an overall simple salad that was refreshing and light. I usually order the chop chop chicken (sometimes the combo) with half salad and half rice with two garlic sauce. Sometimes the chicken comes out a little burnt but when it's not, it's perfect with the nice soft fluffy basmati rice. The salad and their dressing is also pretty flavorful. Plus it comes with veggies. There's a location by USC that does not compare to this location at all. They had burnt chicken, hard rice (how do to you eff up rice?) and tasteless salad.
