Yay I found my KC nail salon! It's taken a year, but this place is the best in my neighborhood (Plaza/Westport). Pros: 1. Gentle! 2. Wine! 3. The main thing i look for in a salon - precise and accurate polish application - my regular mani looked perfect for 9 days before it chipped! 4. Great massage chairs 5. Small and they take their time - I didn't feel rushed through like I have at some larger/busier salons. The caveat is that you should probably make an appointment in advance! 6. Clean The only thing I wish they had was a mani/pedi deal. My favorite place in Dallas had a deal for $32 mani/pedi and I've seen some places that have a $35 deal for the combo. It's a little pricey, but I will pay extra to ensure I don't walk out with cut cuticles and air bubbles. read more

This is my favorite place to get my nails done. They will work with you to find a good appointment time and they are always flexible. Pedicures turn out amazing. They are very thorough and do not just rush through them. I've gone here for dip nails multiple times and they always turn out great. The nails are always smooth and even. I've tried a ton of different places, but this one is definitely the best. read more

New to the area and didn't want to go downtown to my usual salon. Called and ask if they had availability for a pedicure. Made an appointment an hour out and said I could come earlier or later. I was told 4 would be great. When I arrived I was asked to wait or come back in 30 minutes because they got busy with walk ins. When I headed toward the door suddenly a time was available. The lady who did my pedicure was extremely unprofessional and made me feel terrible about my skin (which I vocalized on 3 occasions that it was due to a medication side effect). Definitely wont be going back. $30 and it was not comfortable or enjoyable. If you're a regular there they do know you by name and are nice/professional to them. I'd recommend going elsewhere read more

I was very hesitant to try a new nail place but after all I was very satisfied. I went in for acrylics but after explaining my goal is to grow my nails, they educated and recommended me to try dip powder. Jenny was my nail tech and throughout the whole process, she asked questions to make sure I was satisfied with the length, color etc. I have been to many nail salons and this by far has climbed up my list due to its customer service and the overall result. Walked in last minute the day before Christmas Eve and they were able to start a manicure for my friend and I within 15 minutes. I've had my nails done in many wonderful cities -- NYC, Montreal, Los Angeles -- with terrific nail techs, but never have I experienced the level of skill and caring that I do with Ann and her team at True Nails. Honestly, I've had total strangers of all ages compliment me on my nails, and my boyfriend thinks that they're super sexy (they are). Best nail shop! It's such a cute and nice shop. Staff is very friendly and goes out of their way to make you feel pampered. This is the only place I trust with dip! Prior to meeting the lovely folks at True Nails, I tried dip at other shops and it was a mess. I experienced chunky nails, messy work, and even a tech who refused to trim my nails. Just when I was about to give up on dip, True Nails changed my perspective. It's the best place to treat yourself. read more

This is my very first Yelp review. After my nails had been butchered and breaking from another Westport nail salon, I looked on Yelp, saw the 5 star reviews on True Nails and called to make an appointment for that day. Ann got me in, asked me questions about my nails and what I wanted out of my nail appointment with her. She then proceeded to begin the long process of removing the shoddy work of the previous nail salon with patience and care. She explained the damage to my nails and told me what we needed to to do get my nails back in healthy shape. She never made me feel rushed and took care in making sure my nails looked beautiful. It was the best nail service I've ever had. I will be back and can't wait to get a pedicure from Helen. Be sure to make an appointment but even if you walk in, it's worth the wait. read more

I've been to several nail salons in the Westport and surrounding areas. Some are okay, most are very hit and miss. True Nails is not one of those salons. I love this place and it's the only place I will go from now on. If you make an appointment, they will honor it. As such, if you walk in, it may take a bit longer to get you in. Ann takes her time and makes sure that you're happy every step of the way. If you want as fast as possible or as cheap as possible, go elsewhere. If you want consistent, high quality pampering, please go to this salon. read more

Went with my grandma to get our nails done and it did not go very well. I had shown the lady what I wanted and asked if she could do it and she assured me that she could. They turned out nothing like what I asked for. Then why cutting my cuticles I started bleeding very bad. There is dried blood mixed in with my gel nails. There are also air pockets and bumps throughout my nails. Will not be back. read more

Moved from Olathe to midtown, so needed to find a new nail salon. So glad I checked reviews first to find True Nails! Staff was SO friendly and talkative. My nails were well taken care off, and my dip manicure turned out even and smooth. Two major advantages that made me feel very comfortable: most everyone who walked in was greeted by their name-that means it's a place filled with regulars which is always a good sign! I also didn't feel like they were rushing my nails, something that I often find at other salons. I'll definitely be back!! read more

Love! This is the only salon I will ever go to and I recommend it to all my friends and family. Anh is a professional and does really great work! She is efficient but never rushes me and I always love the way my nails turn out. There are tons of colors to choose from for dip/gel/and regular polish. If you have ever had a bad dip experience you need to try True Nails- I thought I hated dip before I started going here. The pedicures are great too. The atmosphere is relaxing and clean and there is always parking available. I appreciate that they give good advice on how to keep your nails healthy instead of just saying yes to everything. They are great to schedule with and always consistent. read more

I first met Anh a year and a half ago. I had had an awful experience at a different salon a few days before and prayed she could fix the disaster that was now my nails. She did an AMAZING job. She truly knows how to care for your nails. It's not just slapping some dip on there and sending you on your way. No no no! She makes sure to care for your nails and that they are staying healthy, then applies the dip, then cares for your cuticles and anything else that needs to be taken care of so your nails look radiant. No extra cost for this service!!! My dip can last anywhere from 3-4 weeks with no ragged edges ever!! She knows what she's doing and she truly cares about quality and your nails. On top of her magnificent work, the salon itself is sooo cute. It never smells of any chemicals! EVER!! I love this as I'm very sensitive to smells. Anh herself is extraordinary. She says hi to you by name when you walk into the salon. She remembers all of her clients... by name!! I watched her in action the other day as a new client walked in and said Michelle had recommended he come here for a pedicure. She almost immediately knew exactly who he was talking about and started to ask questions about how certain things in her life were going, proving that she did in fact know exactly who this Michelle was. I was so impressed! With as many clients as she sees in a day, she still takes the time to get to know you as a person AS WELL AS care for your nails in a way no other salon has ever done for me! My husband had his very first pedicure here by Helen. He has not stopped talking about how great of a job she did! She cared for his toenails (which were pretty bad by the way) and gave him a great foot/leg massage. I got a basic pedicure done at True Nails and all the ladies there were wonderful! My friends had appointments, and called to squeeze me in a few hours early. They made it happen! We wore masks and washed hands as COVID precautions. Everything was clean and tidy. Price was more than reasonable. I would definitely return! read more

After checking out the reviews on here, I can see why it's highly rated, as this is one of the easiest 5-star ratings I have ever given to a business. The technicians were very welcoming and will either chat with you or leave you be while attending to you; they also seem to have a lot of repeat customers. It's very clean and modern on the inside (even though they don't use liners for their basins), and the prices are reasonable. Long story short, this is my new nail salon. read more

I first went here because it was the only place in the area with a 5-star rating. After my first visit I figured out why it had such high ratings. I have now been going to True Nails for over 2 years and it's the only place I would ever go or trust to do my nails! Every time I get my nails done here they last up to 3 and even 4 weeks. I attempted to schedule an appointment, and the earliest available date was August 31. Instead of…read moreconfirming it, I received a message stating that my appointment was "pending upon approval." I called multiple times, but your phone line was unavailable and no one returned my calls. When I emailed--sarcastically--asking whose approval you were waiting for, I was informed that my appointment had "expired," even though no appointment ever existed to begin with. I followed up to express my surprise that such a simple request required approval. Instead of addressing the issue, you blocked my telephone number. Blocking a customer for questioning your process is discriminatory and unacceptable. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau to report this conduct. Kansas City does not tolerate opaque or authoritarian business practices. Despite this, I still need the appointment and intend to be a consistent monthly customer--provided this situation is corrected immediately.
