Brand new family owned salon! I got the gel mani and deluxe pedi here from Summer and Tommy, the service was amazing and they did my nails perfectly. My skin is usually so dry and they took care of all of the hard callus. It was the best foot massage and left my skin feeling silky smooth! I had an amazing experience here. Went in for a full acrylic set, asked for an ombré color, they accommodated me and the results are high quality. Paid attention to detail, which is hard to find sometimes! I love my nails. The man who helped me was funny and pleasant... and offered me some hot tea. Two days before "I do" I went in for nails, toes, and waxing of JUST eyebrows and lip. "I make you look so pretty for your wedding" she dumped wax all over my face and ripped my skin off. Zero after treatment. My entire face and neck looked like this for two plus weeks and it scabbed over. Returned for a refund which had to be heavily fought for and then was partially issued because my nails were fine he said "leave your card with me and I'll think about it" I'm familiar with the redness after waxing. This was taken more than 24 hours later. I'd show you wedding photo proof but I wasn't able to have any thanks to them. Totally cancelled all of the events leading up to the wedding as I couldn't be in the sun. What makes me the most angry is that she knew my skin ripped off on the first pull and kept going. Always have the best time here with my girls! Everyone is so nice and and friendly while working with us to get exactly what we wanted! Got a full gel set and it did not disappoint! I highly recommend this new business! The location is convenient (right off highway 5), the prices are competitive, the shop is clean and comfortable. I want to share an excellent experience I had yesterday. I have seen the True Nails sign out by the Residence Inn for months so I walked in to give them some business. Their place is new, air conditioned and clean. One of the best mani/pedis I have ever had, it came with hot stone massage and the best conversation about cooking Vietnamese food. These women were wonderful to me and did such a nice job. They offer a nice menu of adult beverages on the house which I will try next time. They even shared their lunch with me . It really warms my heart to think that maybe Portland has not completely lost its way. I will definitely return because they checked every box, especially the most important one. They were just lovely people I highly recommend supporting this local business. read more

I was visiting for a work convention and just needed a gel manicure. I came in, without an appointment, and was rudely greeted by an older woman saying I don't have time come back. A younger woman came up and apologized, and asked if I wanted to make an appointment for 11:15, I said sure. She wrote down the service I wanted and I came back at 11:15 on the dot. Imagine my surprise when the older woman was filling the pedicure tub of another woman that had clearly just walked in. The younger woman whispered something to her. I guess they didn't think I was coming back. Idk all around the whole experience left a very bad taste in my mouth and I let everyone at the all women's convention I was attending not to go across the street to the nail salon down the hill. I would pass if visiting town. read more

I am in love with my nails. The gentleman that did my nails was very knowledgeable, took his time to make sure that everything from the shape to the design was to my liking, and he made me feel comfortable through the whole process. Sanitizer was provided at every station, and masks were worn! I showed him a picture of what I wanted and in my opinion, it looks better than the picture I provided. read more

Well, I made reservations for my granddaughter and I. She's seven and I knew she wouldn't want to wait for me. We got there and the manager who was supposed to do my nails was in the middle of an acrylic nail polish. The woman who was to do my granddaughters nails was available. It took 35 minutes to get my nails started in my granddaughters Nails we're done. I'm not happy. read more

I was very pleased with what Summer did for my nails when I was here today for a manicure. She was on time for our appointment, was very pleasant to talk to and my nails look wonderful. A plus was that she did the job from start to finish (not one person for this and another for that). I plan on being a weekly customer and am glad I made the change. They said it was $25 for a pedicure but it ended up being $38. She polished them well but put very minimal effort into it. I was the only one in there and I was out in 15 minutes. She didn't file my nails or scrub much or anything really. Definitely not a place I'd return to or recommend. In the end she was super friendly but only so I'd tip. It would've been much more had she put more effort into giving me the actual pedicure and not just doing a good job painting my toes. read more

In fact, I generally go about 1-2 yrs between cuts because they are always that bad but for the first time since I left Southern California, I've found a stylist that knows what they're doing. Kris took my shoulder length hair and cut it into an AMAZING shag. (And provided fantastic conversation while doing it, really they're super cool.) I love it so much! I've gone from a girl who only wore her hair in a ponytail or braids to keeping it unbound. I've gotten so many compliments and I just love the cut -- I can wear it straightened and curly and it looks just as good both ways. She responded very quickly to my message quickly when I expressed dissatisfaction with my hair afterward, and offered to redo the color but I'd rather wait for my hair to grow out as it's several inches too short and already has layers of color in it. I arrived at 11am for an appointment that my confirmation said would last until 1:30pm and we didn't finish until 4pm. She did my cut first and then did the baby lights- they added nice color and dimension to the hair as desired. But she then did my roots and combed the color through. While my color was processing, someone arrived for a haircut and had their haircut done while my color sat. Around 45 minutes later, my color was washed out and was darker than I expected- most of the baby lights were no longer visible. She mentioned the color will fade to be lighter as expected, but the result was surprising. I also asked for 2 inches or so to be cut, and mentioned I wanted to be able to put my hair in a ponytail still. When facing the mirror, the length was going great and she showed me it could still go in a ponytail. When turned around, I lost several inches for some reason and there was no going back. She took off even more in the back, and I left unable to put my hair in a ponytail. I'm not sure if there was a miscommunication and she thought I wanted the grow out to be able to be in a ponytail, but I don't think so since she initially showed me she could put it in a ponytail. By 4pm I was tired and hungry and ready to get home- she asked if I wanted to see the hair blown out and styled which I did but just wasn't up for given the 5 hours I'd been there so I said no. There was also another person waiting for their 4pm appointment to start. When I did straighten it at home, I was surprised by my hair. I've gotten cuts that suit curly hair on many occasions and have always been able to wear the cuts straight too. This cut when straight appears uneven and choppy. The transition to the short back is awkward. She'd mentioned that at the end she'd go through and do any evening, cutting of long pieces etc needed but by then, as I'd mentioned, someone had shown up for another appointment at 4 and no additional cutting was done. I'm not sure if it was an off day, if my hair just took a few hours longer than expected or if she typically stacks appointments but things seemed rushed between the clients. I've never had someone try to do a whole haircut while dye sits on and I felt like my dye was likely left on too long due to it which resulted in the darker hair and missing baby lights. I've included pictures of my hair before the appointment length wise, what I asked for, and what I got. Given the many positive reviews, I'd say this could be chalked up to an off experience but given the starkly different results I thought it was worth sharing.
