I have had 4 services at this salon. Experience 1, Sept 2013: Update to my Ombre. Caitlin was great, she made good conversation and was able to perfectly match the color. Experience 2, March 2014: Hair cut. I asked for a few inches off the bottom. She says, its not really worth it for a clean up if I am going to pay to have a cut with her. Ok? Lets go slightly shorter. My hair went from below my bra strap long to shoulder length. Now, I fully well realize it could've been a misunderstanding. I didn't write a review in the moment because management handled the situation so well (AFTER I CALLED AND ASKED FOR HELP.) They allowed me to come back about a month later to meet with a stylist who taught me how to do my new hair. SHE was great. Experience 3, April 2014: Make up application for professional head shots for work. Legit DISASTER. I asked repeatedly if she thought there was too much makeup, and if all the creasing was going to be an issue in the pictures (I obviously already knew the answer to this, but my pictures were schedule immediately after the make-up application.) She brought me to the front area where the lighting is better--still awful. Got the pictures back and wasn't sure if I should cry or laugh hysterically. In the end, I was able to find a few pictures at a distance that you couldn't see the terrible makeup application. Experience 4, July 2014: All over color-a Sombre (subtle ombre.) This is the straw that broke the camels back. I requested all over color in two shades lighter. I specifically mentioned this bc I knew I had to address the white hairs that were becoming more and more aggressive. I also wanted a lighter color thru the ends. I brought pictures, she assured me it would be great. The process didn't take as long as expected. We finished 45 mins earlier than the time scheduled. I ended up with SLIGHTLY lighter base, white hairs, and ORANGE highlights. As she dried my hair, she kept making excuses. I almost felt like she was blaming me--I don't even really know how to explain it. She hadn't realized that I had done this same procedure 3 years in a row, so I knew it was completely doable. She wouldn't take responsibility for it, and kept saying "I knew this was a possibility." What? You knew there was a possibility that my hair would be ORANGE but didn't think to mention it BEFORE we started? Oh, and she charged me for the all over color. WHAT?!?! It's NOTHING like what I asked for. Not even kinda. I know there is a science to color, I know that accidents happen. I can get my head around all that. I can even be sympathetic. I realize that I shouldn't have gone back after the first big fail (20/20 hindsight.) I should have written my mad review back in March. I take full responsibility for that. I have gone to this location for many years and they have never done a bad job. I stopped coming here a few years ago just because of convenience but today I went in for another haircut and my stylist did an amazing job for a fair price. I defiantly recommend Aveda products as well as they're hair services, although they do fare on the more expensive side of the spectrum. read more

Love this place. A neck and shoulder massage when I arrive. Yupin is the BEST with color. A separate relaxing room for shampoo. Included is a hand and arm massage while head wrapped in a warm towel. Overall I really like this salon - the color bar is cool and the shampoo room is really relaxing. With my first visit I wasn't happy with my cut or color, but I called back to let them know and they immediately set up a consult for me and had both corrected to my satisfaction. I was in town for a short while and needed a color. I made my appointment and let the girl know that I wanted an all over color and the length and thickness of my hair. When I arrived at the salon, I waited for 20 minutes past my appointment time (30 min total since I arrived 10 min early as they recommended) and was only taken after I asked the receptionist how much longer it would be. The stylist came out (I forgot her name, I dont think she even introduced herself) and took me back as she was still helping another client. She started applying color to my roots but did not do an all over color as requested. When asked about it, she said that there was not enough time to do an all over color since that is not what I made my appointment for. In the meantime however, she helped two other clients while still in the middle of doing my hair. She rushed through the application so much that she splashed color on my cell phone first... she apologized and just kept going, I had to ask for a towel to wipe it off. After that, she got color on my $900 purse. Again, she shrugged, apologized and kept going. When she was drying my hair, she was doing it so fast that she kept pulling my hair with the brush (Ive been getting my hair colored for over 10 years, I have a pretty high tolerance for these things). Then, the tip of the iceberg... she snapped a clip which flew into my face. She actually laughed and said "how many times will I have to apologize to you tonight" Soooo.... I thought maybe this was just her... maybe she is just a terrible stylist... Luckily I had an appointment the next morning to get my eyebrows waxed... learned the hard way that it wasnt just one rude stylist. The one waxing my brows was just as terrible. This place seems to have an assembly line feel... they just move people through as quickly as possible. I frequent aveda salons only and this is not a great representation of what I am used to. If I had to pick one plus it would be that the prices seem pretty low for an aveda salon. Maybe that's why they can afford to have such terrible service read more

Been 3 times and every time I did not get the cut I wanted and I'm 2 for 1 on the coloring, which was so-so. I wasn't asking for a difficult haircut, just layers in my long hair and the first 2 times I got zero layers and the third a smidge but couldn't even really tell- AND I paid for a designer that third time. I asked (& had pics) of blended high & low lights and got blocky stripes. I also had to wait every time for my appointment and over 30 minutes that last time just for them to start on me. So, love their products, some staff very nice, some snooty, but for the price I really expected better...WAY better. Get they're products but go elsewhere for your cut & color. read more

I thought I had found a great place to get my hair cut when I moved to Cobb a few months ago. However the front desk staff at true obviously needs more training on how their business operates. I called several days ago to schedule a hair cut, but when I arrived today, I learned that my appointment had been arrantly scheduled for two weeks from now. As it turned out, I was actually speaking with the girl who supposedly scheduled my appointment. She acted as though the error was my fault even though I had confirmed the date and time with her two days ago. She did not even attempt to remedy her error with arranging me with another stylist that fit my schedule. Needless to say, I will never waste my time or money at true again. read more

I'm the kind of person that likes getting their hair cut about as much as I like going to the dentist, but today Randi made the experience very nice for me. She was sweet, took my lifestyle and needs into consideration and gave me a great haircut that will be very easy to maintain. The spa seems to normally offer the luxury resort experience, but Randi was fine with me skipping most of that. It's about the same price range as other hair salons in the area but also gives the hot towel and hand massage treatment. I'm very happy with my cut, and the other customers in there today seemed happy too- one lady seemed to just be hanging out! Will definitely be back. read more

I have been going to True for over a year now. The service there is worth every dollar! Kristin does my hair, but I have used other stylist when I made a last minute appointment. People stop me and comment on my hair! It's a wonderful experience. Not like salons where they start on you, then jump to another client and you sit there with wet hair or color waiting for them to return! The shampoo experience is amazing! AND, the products are all natural, earth friendly! You need to try True.. you won't go anywhere else! read more

In a nutshell--this is what I experienced. 1. Lack of personality in the stylists. They seem bored and grumpy. 2. Their attitude when asking if you would like a hand massage seems like they are put out and annoyed. 3. My only request was to "trim off the dead ends" I get home and take a close look at my hair--and I still have dead ends....everywhere! I actually have to reschedule to get another girl to trim my hair. This tells me that True Aveda hires inexperienced people who do not take pride in their work--and also that True Aveda does not provide training to the people who truly need it. 4. My favorite part is after being ignored the entire time during my haircut, I then get an earful when she tries to peddle me the Aveda products. They pressure you to buy something. They also wait by the register while you pay and practically look over your shoulder at the tip you write in. read more

I had an appointment today for a hair cut at 5:00PM. I woke up sick this morning and I am heading to the doctor. I have no voice, which is obvious over the phone. They tell me to move my appointment I will be charged a no show fee of $30! I am not just not showing up, but because I woke up sick this morning, not wanting to spread my germs to them, they want to charge me $30! I told them I would not pay their fee and they just lost a customer who drops $100-150 each appointment! UNREAL! read more

I have tried this salon in the past. I stopped going because they always made me wait way past my appointment time. I gave them another chance; time had passed and I hoped things would be better. The salon is lovely. The rest of the experience, not so much. My appointment was for 1:30. I got a phone call, an email, and a text message - all reminding me of the time of my appointment. I got there ten minutes early. I was told that I was early AND my stylist was running about twenty minutes behind. I waited the half hour. I then asked how much longer. I was told another 15-20 minutes. I explained my displeasure. A manager was going to come speak to me. Another 5 minutes passed. No one came to speak to me. I left. No follow up by the salon, even though they definitely know how to communicate with me. I will never enter that salon again. I will tell never send a friend. read more

I have now been seeing kaitlyn at true for over a year and I am always pleased. She is extremely nice and always does a fantastic job on my cut and color. The salon is an upgrade from a salon I use to patron in Douglasville. But I don't always get the hairstyle I ask for. Unfortunately, yesterday, Feb. 28, 2019, I was 12 minutes late for my appt and I was called on my cell, as I was approaching the parking lot, and was told by front desk clerk, Karli/Carli, that their would not be enough time to do everything that needs to be done to my hair. I have very short hair and was getting ends clipped/hair cut. They lost a loyal customer due to her incompetence of time management. read more

I've gone to Brittany twice (once for just a cut and once for cut and color). She had done a fantastic job times. She took time to listen to what I wanted in both cut and color and gave me realistic feedback about what would and would not work for me. I've gotten a TON of compliments from random strangers about how much they like my hair. The salon experience is great as well as the service. Easy to schedule appointments, great atmosphere. I've been going to Cade at True Salon. She has done my hair a few times and I absolutely love the cut and color. If it wasn't for Cade, I don't think I'd go back to this salon. It's very "snooty". Barely anyone is speaking and quite honestly I don't feel comfortable in the atmosphere at all. Although they offer you a drink upon arrival, I do feel like I'm in an assembly line when I'm getting my hair colored...I have not an opportunity whereby Cade was working on my hair only but double booked each time I've gone in. I don't know about you but if I'm dropping $150 for a cut and color, I feel that I deserve your undivided attention. I don't blame Cade for this as this is obviously the culture of the salon itself. read more

I was a walk-in. Was told my appointment would be at 215pm. Got there a bit early and they sent me back to be seated along with a glass of water. Very courteous staff. The girl that cut my hair asked me how I would liked to be styled and cut. We discussed it and she took me back to shampoo and then seated me to begin my cut. From the beginning of the cut it was obvious she didnt know what she was doing. The finished product was not what I asked for, has choppy lines on the sides where it should be blended, and to make matters worse, when the cut was finished, she didn't wipe or blow dry the hair that was clinging to my forehead and sides. I walked out with unstyled hair, cut hair clinging to my forehead and even a wad of hair on top of my left shoe. She could barely look at me as I stood in line to pay. Barely a "goodbye" or "see ya later". I've never had this kind of experience at a salon, especially at an Aveda salon. I will not go back there again. HORRIBLE! read more

Love this salon and have been going since they opened about 8 years ago! Have always had a wonderful experience from color, to cut, to touch up, to bang trim....all the way around! The shampoo experience is awesome with hot towel wrap and hand massage! I highly recommend Cade as a stylist, too, however, I know there are several really great ones! I was very disappointed in the customer service I received while at the salon this weekend. I was quoted a price over the phone 3 days earlier, then asked to pay a higher price when I checked out because my stylist had been promoted that day. When I questioned the charges, the whole situation made me feel very awkward. The manager did not want to make the situation right, but instead just said sorry. I will never go back to this salon again, and would really not suggest it to a friend. When I made my appointment I was quoted a price for a single process cut and color. The salon atmosphere fine, not very clean and not very well taken care of. My hair was left for over an hour and 15min. while my stylists helped another client. The color ended up black instead of brown and I was told that it will probably get lighter after a few washes. Upon check out I was charged $20 more than originally quoted. When I asked why I was old that the receptionist could ask the stylist to take less money, but if she changed the price she would loose her job. The entire experience was very awkward and unprofessional. The manger who quoted the price, said she was sorry about the situation and she would talk to the receptionist. Unless you want to pay more than expected, don't make an appointment. read more

I am a new client to true but since my visit with Tori I wont go any where else. Not only will I be requesting her from now on out, but so will my mother and my sister. She was wonderful. I got a half head of highlights deciding to switch it up, a little nervous because I had been coloring my hair dark for so long. She gave me exactly what I without even telling her! I now have the most stunning caramel highlights for fall. Not only that but the shampoo.... was incredible.. A blanket, hand massage, and head massage.. I could have stayed in there all day. She took her time, she wasn't too rough but gave enough pressure. During the hair cut we made some small talk, but me having such a busy schedule it was nice to have a stylist that didn't talk my ear off. I am so happy with my hair! I keep getting compliments and all I say is to go see Tori! read more

My mother was a satisfied customer for nearly 10 years going once every 5 weeks regularly. In February 2015 she had 2 back to back last minute cancellations due to icy conditions on the road which appeared suddenly (it is in true salon's policy to allow for cancellations due to weather). She is also a nurse and has to treat sick children regularly and often becomes ill herself which happened for her third appointment also suddenly. They decided to charge a cancellation fee for the last cancellation. The fee isn't the problem alone, it was the incredibly rude and disrespectful way they talked to a long time patron; applying the fee as if it was punitive. It upset her so much that I needed to take the phone and handle the conversation. I politely asked them to remove the fee, as my mother was very sick and it would not be appropriate for her to spread the illness and she will reschedule an appointment. They would not remove the fee and became irate with me for even asking. I asked to speak to the manager/owner of the business as this was unacceptable. After talking with the manager, hoping a more reasonable business mind would prevail, it quickly became clear that management encourages this behavior as the same rude and uppity attitude was shown after asking twice to remove the fee (as noted in the story above) and they would still rather lose a long term customer than to wave a cancellation fee. True Salon runs a poorly managed business with poor customer satisfaction. Keep this review in mind when you are deciding on a local salon. read more
