I read that so many people like this BBQ, so definitely had to try it out. Atmosphere - 4/5 - Tucked away in HEB, but it is a pretty good sized dining area. It loses a point because you have to leave your shopping cart (if you bought groceries) in front of the restaurant. Although there is a person standing and watching your items, I still feel a little uneasy about it. Personally, I would probably eat before I shop going forward. Staff - 5/5 - Typical BBQ Staff. Friendly and helpful. Food - 4/5 - It is good, not great BBQ. Do not compare it to the top BBQ places, and you will be just fine. Ordered the following: 3 Meat Plate ($18.99...Add $2.75 to switch for ribs) - Did the Ribs, and 2 types of brisket with cornbread, brisket beans, and mac & cheese. They ran out of burnt ends :/ Ribs - 4/5 - Really good meaty ribs. Definitely recommend. Fatty Brisket - 3.5/5 - Typical fatty brisket. Lean Brisket - 3/5 - Little on the dry side. Chopped Natural Brisket Sandwich ($6.19) - 4/5 - Def recommend for the taste and price. Smother it with sauce and you are good to go. Pulled Pork Sandwich ($4.59) - 5/5 - Cannot beat the price for a pulled pork sandwich. Cornbread (varies, but also comes as a side) - 4/5 - comes in a skillet. I recommend getting this. Brisket Beans - (see above) - 4/5 - Really good beans with brisket in it. I recommend this as well. Mac & Cheese - (see above) - 4/5 - If it isn't Kraft, then I am happy with it. Really good...especially for the kiddos. Bread Pudding (Seasonal) - 4/5 - If they have it, I recommend it. Keep in mind that I love bread pudding. Also, they have a good happy hour (hh) for beer (3-7 pm). This is a BBQ chain restaurant, so expect BBQ chain quality. Is it bad BBQ? No, not at all. It is what it is designed for. You want a quick fix for BBQ, and it is right there while you shop. Would I go back? Yes, because the price isn't too bad for the items (especially the sandwiches). HEB really has it all haha.

Solid BBQ and a good price point. I'm new to H‑E‑B, and decided to order lunch from True Texas on a whim. TTBBQ slow smokes all their meat in-house, made fresh everyday. They sell until they're sold out, which sounds like may happen often. I ordered lunch through their app, which was really easy and quick. The pickup part was a bit trickier because they have only been open for a few days, and lines are wrapped around the building just to get in. Luckily, they have a drive-thru window, so I was able to pull up and get my order that way. The wait time around 1pm was still around 20 minutes in the drive-thru. I'm sure this will change once the craziness dies down. I ordered a brisket baked potato, 1/4 white meat chicken with a side of spicy bbq sauce, mac & cheese, and creamed corn. The potato was delicious - well cooked and generously topped. The brisket was tasty, with smoked flavors really coming through. My only gripe was that the brisket portion I got was mostly fat, and I hate fatty meats to begin with. It just may have been my luck, but it sucked all the same. The bbq sauce was nice, but wasn't terribly spicy. I'd call it a mild plus. The chicken was amazing, tender, juicy and well marinated. Would definitely get this again. The creamed corn was good, kernels we're crispy and not mushy. Mac & cheese was ok - a bit on the salty side, and the cheese was a smidge grainy tasting. Overall, I will definitely eat here again. Can't wait to try everything that they have to offer.

This review is for the food ONLY - not wait time. The brisket is very good for the convenience. I have had worse brisket at brick and mortar restaurants. It was incredibly tender - meaning no knife was needed to cut it. The turkey is similar to any chain barbecue spot, dry but flavorful. I personally wasn't a fan of the baked potato only because I prefer my baked potato to be mixed and mashed already. If you are a fan of cakey, bread pudding like peach cobbler, this is for you. I prefer my peach cobbler to be flakey and more similar to the complimentary cobbler from Hutchins (definitely worth going to) The sides were all really great as well, I didn't get a picture of the macaroni and cheese but it was incredibly cheesy and thick, not soupy like many other macaroni and cheese sides tend to be. Super thick and definitely heavy. I really really enjoyed the cole slaw but I have had better creamed corn. Overall, if I'm craving bbq and find myself at HEB, I will probably go here again.

Come one come all!! H-E-B is here baby! I am SOOO excited that H-E-B is now in my local community. I was there on day one. The big day. The one. The only Grand Opening day September 21, 2022. Of course I had to try True Texas BBQ and snag a couple of their notorious buttered tortillas. Oh by the way I forgot to mention, True Texas BBQ is located inside the H-E-B. Don't feel like getting out of your car for some delicious bbq? We'll no problem! They have drive thru so you can wear your comfy pajamas at your leisure while enjoying a nice hot plate of TX bbq! I got the turkey plate comes with two sides. I chose potato salad and mac and cheese. MMM can't wait to go back for that banana pudding. Swing on by support H-E-B! Nobody does it better than my HEB! Toodaloo for now folks!

Hello Linda's, As per the usual when you see one of my reviews, then you know that I am here to put you up on food game or I'm trying to save you! Let me tell you I randomly decided to try this place, because even though I typically eat more plant based sometimes you want a rib & you miss home! Off the top the customer service was amazing & she was patient as I was trying to make up mind. Plus, the young lady taking my order gave out great recommendations! Now on to the good part Linda's the ribs!!! These ribs tasted like Gods love had been tossed on them! Perhaps, someone blessed them before I got a chance to bless & eat them ,because these ribs were everything!!! Linda's It's only because I share with you all that I can let y'all know that I ate almost all of them before I got home. The Taurus in me wanted to turn around and get more, but I opted not to be greedy ! I put this on Taurus and as someone from Missouri that you need to do yourself a favor and go get these ribs! Listen Linda's even the pickles were fire !!! I didn't eat any of the sides, but when they need a brand ambassador, then all they have to do is call me me up! If you have a rib craving and you're from Missouri then do drop in on them you won't regret it!!! Treat yourself & don't cheat yourself!!!

Tried today. The dude at the counter wanted us to use the kiosk for first visit. We can't ask questions to a kiosk. But ok. He confirms they don't use or cook bacon inside the restaurant. This is a win for some of us. :) We order & cut to share Texas torpedo that is a little tough & it looks crazy. Confirm with another who explains - his misunderstanding might be they are made elsewhere & shipped in. They warm them but don't cook them. We rechecked l kiosk to make sure we weren't stupid. It seriously says brisket & cream cheese. The bacon & nasty sausage was an added, unpleasant surprise. Wasted $5. Proper communication goes a long way, considering the large quantity of halal & kosher foods sold in the store here.

Ok went and tried HEB BBQ, and yes no where near, Hutchins or Tenders or Hurtados, but if you are on a budget, and want decent bbq, better than Dickeys maybe on par with Rudys, then HEB BBQ is a no brainer I tried the 3 meat plater, and wow does have tons of meat (Really in the end its all about the meat) 3 huge ribs, almost fall off the bone, more like a little peel off the bone, lol, lots of sliced brisket, I tried the lean, and yes was somewhat dry, but I have had worst. The sausage about the same as anywhere else, the bbq sauce was 2 options a peppery one, and mild sweet one, I enjoyed both. The also have a drive thru, if you download the True Texas BBQ app, you can order online. While not the best, it's ok bbq if you are craving it, but on a budget, this is another option, and they open at 11am everyday. I could not finish it all, because it was a lot of food, and yes they have sliced bread at your request I can say I do recommend it. Oh forgot had the potato salad side, it was good, and had the green chili cheddar corn bread (Not good at all) could not taste any green chili or cheddar, dry cornbread.

While I was in Frisco, I knew I had to find a good Texas BBQ spot, and after seeing Hutchins BBQ on social media, I had to give it a try. And let me tell you, it definitely did NOT disappoint! Hutchins BBQ was a little farther from The Star than I expected, but it was absolutely worth the drive. When I first walked up to the dine-in area, they offered me a sample of their pork sausage, and after tasting it, I was sold! I knew I had to order it. When I walked in, I was initially trying to figure out how the ordering worked, but the staff member who helped me was incredibly friendly and patient. The meat is priced by weight, and they even let me sample some of the other meats before deciding. I ended up getting the sausage and brisket, along with green beans and mac and cheese. My total came out to around $35-$40, which I thought was very reasonable for the amount and quality of food. After paying, I grabbed a drink and noticed the sauce and condiment area. I asked if there was an extra charge, and the employee told me it was free. I helped myself to some sour cream, bacon bits, and several BBQ sauces before sitting down to enjoy my meal. Everything was absolutely delicious. Every bite tasted like Texas BBQ should taste! And then came an unexpected bonus. After I finished eating, one of the employees who was cleaning told me to help myself to the free desserts: ice cream, banana pudding, and peach cobbler. Yes, you read that right... FREE! I tried the banana pudding and it was so good that I actually went back for seconds. It was the perfect way to finish the meal. I even boxed up some of my food to take with me, and I left extremely pleased with my experience. The food was fantastic, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the whole experience felt welcoming from beginning to end. As someone visiting from Las Vegas, Hutchins BBQ gave me exactly what I was hoping for when I came to Texas: amazing BBQ, great hospitality, and a meal I won't forget. I highly recommend Hutchins BBQ to anyone looking for authentic Texas BBQ! I can't wait to come back again.

I went with a friend of mine for breakfast around 1030. First time for breakfast here for both of us. I ordered a couple tacos and a pancake. My friend got the breakfast platter and a pancake. We were given a number, got our drinks and went to ta table. About 20 minutes in, no food. We were greeted by a very nice member of staff and talked with him for a bit. But when that was done we realized it had been about 35 minutes. No food. A waiter comes by and asked if we had the pancakes. We said yes. He told us they were out because a football team came in right before we did and ended up ordering like all they had for the day. You can't make this up. So I asked ok but where's the rest of our food? I'll check on it he said. So I leaned over to the table next to us and ask if they were still waiting on their food since they had been there a while also and they said yes did you also order the pancakes? Lol We laughed and said yeah but we should get the rest of our food no? they ended up leaving. About 10 minutes later another waiter comes and asked if the manager had spoken to us. Nope just a waiter. So he goes to get him. He comes back 5 minutes later cause the manager was helping to cook and would be with us soon. So we def in well over an hour now. Manager finally comes and is the most apologetic he could possibly be. Told us straight up our other food was never made and he would make it right now. And he would comp our meal. So that was already a really good turnaround. But when he brings the food out he also brought us a rack of pork ribs because the initial employee we talked to told him about us wanting to try the pork ribs another time and he just gave us some. Could really not have asked him to have done more to make up for everything. That alone will make me return to this location a lot. The food was good, if not the greatest BBQ I've ever had, but the overall experience was much fun. The restaurant is in the form of a large barn with ample seating and a walk-through line where you can pick out your meat and then any sides and drinks you'd like. I enjoyed having the "conundrum" of trying to figure out which of the meats to try as they stare at you from the smoker, all saying, "Pick me!" My first visit to any BBQ place is nearly always to try the pulled pork, figuring that if they can't get that right, nothing else is likely all that good. That's not always true, but since pulled pork is one of my favorites, it's a good approach anyway. :) I took my platter laden with an abundant amount of pulled pork and then selected corn on the cob, cole slaw, a slice of custard pie, and a sweet tea. After paying, I made my way into the main dining area and selected a high-top wooden table along the wall that was, shall we say, very awkward to sit at based on how the stationary stool was positioned in conjunction with the table, so I moved to a nearby regular table that was just fine. There's plenty of outdoor seating, but based on the temperature that day, I chose to stay inside. Digging in, I found the pulled pork to be good, but it was a little dry and salty. The standard house BBQ sauce was good, though, and the corn on the cob was very nice. The cole slaw was about what you'd expect, and the custard pie was tasty, even if it wasn't the best I'd ever had. The sweet tea was excellent. What I probably loved most, though, was eating all this in that environment, with the Texas-American paraphernalia hanging on the walls and a radio station playing nothing but 80s and 90s country music over the speakers--the years when I loved country the most. I wanted a BBQ experience as big as Texas while I was here, and I got that. For that reason, my visit to Hard Eight was a hit, and I will happily visit again on a future trip.

Greasy and over powered with bacon and sweetness ruined what once was the best side they had there. Upon my most recent visit back two weeks ago I was hoping to find that they maybe realized they had made a mistake and went back to the original green beans but unfortunately that was not the case. Still those nasty greasy green beans. Eww! Also, my brisket sandwich this time was a no go. I asked for the lean cut but had to pick it apart to remove all of the fat in it which then made the bun super soggy. I was so disappointed again :( I'm not really sure what changes are being made and why but some things just need to stay the same. If it's not broke, don't try and fix it...

Our dear friends that are pastors in the area brought us to this establishment. The food was so delicious and exceptional! Some of the best BBQ, sides, and desserts we've ever eaten. Just Wow! .... They even have a fried bologna sandwich on the menu. So nostalgic of growing up. My husband ordered it and it was incredible! The brisket is melt in your mouth delicious, along with the other meats. So so good. Also don't sleep on the orange cake. My goodness! So good! Worth the trip from Houston to Lewisville (Dallas area) just to eat here. Great patio area also. You won't find better BBQ! .... Ohh!! And don't forget to order the cornbread! Heavenly Day!

I like to give restaurants more than one chance if the first visit leaves more to be desired;…read morehowever, the owner has made that impossible. First, the soda machine may need a good cleaning as none of the sodas we tried tasted quite right. Then, the catfish was inedible. The texture was rubbery and it was extremely difficult to cut into. I tried one bite and it was awful and seemed unsafe to eat. Something definitely went wrong in the kitchen. However, when this was brought to the owner's attention, he didn't apologize but instead tried to guilt me, the customer, with, "Aw, you didn't like my catfish?" The staff at the register showed him the catfish and I directly told him it was inedible and explained why. His response? "That's ok. You're not hurting my feelings." It wasn't personal and it's weird that he tried to make it about him. I doubt a single soul wants to eat rubbery catfish. A simple apology would have gone a lot further.
