We specifically went to try their weekend brunch because the menu looked so enticing. Advertised hours were opening at 11:00. We arrived at 11:10. The doors were locked. We tried to peak through the window and saw someone who was in no hurry to unlock the doors. 2-3 minutes later she unlocked the door and said I'm not quite ready but you can come on in. She walks away and we seat ourselves. The table is very sticky to the touch, so we moved to another table. All the tables were quite sticky. Between feeling like the place was unclean and the lack of hospitality shown to us, we left, and went somewhere else. Too bad! We will never go back, but the breakfast menu looked so great. This is a chain so maybe one in a different city would be OK, but I would NOT recommend anyone go to this location. read more

Came in on a Monday afternoon and the service was great. The store itself wasn't super busy but honestly, I really enjoyed that since we got extra attention from the servers the food came out fast and was delicious. The espresso martini shots are a must. I also had two margaritas which were delicious and I ordered dessert to go the banana cake and it was good. Server also told me that they are dog friendly so I will definitely come back next time and bring my dog in. They also have specials throughout the week which also offer great deals. originally we came in for the soft serve margaritas, which was only served at the Dallas location, which was a misunderstanding but instead we had great food. First impression is this is more "bar" than "restaurant". I didn't see anyone eating when we arrived at 7:00pm. For the record we came for both BBQ and whiskey tasting that was happening at 8:00pm. Unfortunately the server knew nothing about the tasting. She conveyed it was just for invited guest so that's why she didn't know anything about it. Well, if you consider the invite was published on Facebook and everyone was invited... Moving on- The ambiance is definitely "bar". Lots of booze on the wall behind the bar, many beers to choose from on tap and in bottles and cans. High top tables almost exclusively. There were some half-booths in a back room. I'm not a fan of the high top tables as the chairs tend to become uncomfortable after an hour or so. But I get it- it's a bar vibe. We ordered various combo plates that included pastrami, brisket, pork belly burnt ends, and various sides like fries and glazed carrots. Also the deviled eggs as an appetizer. My impression was the pastrami, a very thick slice, was tasty, but served on the "less than warm" side and was kind of tough. I prefer food to be hot or at least very warm. So this was a disappointment. It was also very dry, so I suspect it had been pre- sliced, which is not good for bbq. The pork belly burnt ends were large cubes of pork belly that were probably 2 to 4 bites each, depending on how big a bite you want to take. It required a knife to cut which is not a great sign for pork belly. It was also served "not hot". I'd rather see smaller bites and served very warm to hot. Again, probably pre-sliced and smoked that way, then reheated. I feel this is the problem: they don't serve enough of any particular bbq item to keep it fresh, in a warmer, wrapped, and sliced to order. Too bad as the selections all sounded great on the menu. On to the sides- the glazed carrots and fries were both excellent. Best glazed carrots I've ever had. Deviled eggs: panko breaded and fried the hard boiled egg half's then filled. Served warm. Predominant flavors is like the yolk from an old hard boiled egg that's been in the fridge a while. Loved the concept but flavor not to my liking. I took one home and later ate it cold out of my fridge and it tasted much better. IDGI. Desert: cake was delicious. I did t care for the topping. At 8:00 pm folks from Milam and Greene distillery stopped by and introduced themselves and said we could have whatever we wanted from their brand- shots, cocktails- on them. They were super nice. Didn't know this was a bar mostly so I'll grade it on a scale. The Brisket was pretty good. I wouldn't compare it to a smoke house but it was decent. The fried deviled eggs were probably the only thing I would go back for. All in all if I'm in the area and have a craving I could see myself eating here again. The appetizers and drinks were spot on delicious :). Burger didn't really taste much yet was made from brisket, so I'm surprised there wasn't more flavor. Our server ended up being the manager cause I think the waitress was new and overwhelmed. Manager was very polite and knowledgeable about the dishes and drinks (but he was the manager, so I'd expect no less, lol). This was the first place I'd been to that tried to gouge on tipping. They might need to pay their staff more if they need the customers to give 35% tip to their staff. We probably wont be back unfortunately, cause it was a decent place and open late, but I'd have just gotten drinks if I'd known they'd make me feel bad for not giving 35% instead of the usual 20%. Usually, when I order a brisket plate, its contents alone usually satisfy my appetite. If it was not for the fried okra, the amount of brisket and the slice of Texas toast would not have satiated me. The pickles and red onions must have meant to be garnishment. Unfortunately, I did not realize I was overcharged for the beer until I was home. When I ordered my beer, I pointed to the Yuengling Traditional Lager on the printed menu priced at $4.50. On my bill, it shows Yuengling Flight Draft at $6.50. Fortunately, I only ordered one glass; otherwise, the overcharge would have been multiplied. As for the service, there were several regulars at the bar. Near the Austin Ranch community in The Colony is Barrel & Bones. A restaurant that I just started hearing about recently, and the news was so good that I had to have the Que Crew pay them a visit. The décor feels more like a trendy bar, with a wall of alcohol choices and a main room that is mostly high tables. There's also a side room with 2 pool tables and a couple of Golden Tee games, and there are several outdoor tables along with a fire pit that makes for a nice place to spend an evening with a drink and some good food. Speaking of the food, you'll find all the Texas barbecue staples along with a few original items that you'll have to give a try. The originality begins with the appetizer list: Poblano Corn Fritters, Buffalo Fried Deviled Eggs, Smoked Brisket Queso, Smoked Fried Chicken Wings and Towered (Black & Tan) Onion Rings. All were tempting, but I wanted to try plenty of the entrees too, so I ordered the Corn Fritters and Fried Deviled Eggs for the table. The fritters are not like any other I've had. The outside is a crunchy cornmeal breading while the inside remains very soft and creamy. A departure from the usual more cornbread-like filling. The fried deviled-eggs are a must try. Crunchy breading on the egg white and then topped with the creamy whipped yolk is like nothing I've ever had before. The meats are sold by the 1/2 pound, as well as 2-meat and 3-meat combos, or you can go with a whole rack of ribs. I had to get the 3-meat so I could sample as much as possible. I chose brisket (moist), jalapeno sausage and porkbelly burnt ends (I also traded with another crew member for a rib) and my chosen side was loaded baked potato salad. First, for the meats! The jalapeno sausage is good, but it is very similar to what I've had at several other restaurants. The pork rib was good - could have been a little more tender - and it was topped with a sweet, sticky sauce. I saved the best for last! The moist brisket rivaled the best that I've had! It was tender, smokey, juicy and flavorful. No matter what I order on my next visit, it'll have to include the brisket! The loaded baked potato salad was also very good. All the flavors of a loaded baked potato, with a firmer bite of the potato salad chunks. All of the meals were also served with a slice of Texas toast and pickled onion and cucumber, which was really good and a good contrast to the barbecue. As far as value, I'd have to say it's average. The turkey and chicken are the best values at $10.99 per 1/2 pound, with 2-meat combos for $15.99 and 3-meat combos at $18.99. All in line with what you'll pay at most barbecue restaurants. Our service was terrific. Our server, Daniella, was attentive yet not bothersome, and she was very friendly and helpful. This is a great spot for dinner and drinks in a casual, friendly atmosphere. read more

I did trim out one bit of edible meat. The turkey was acceptable. My side was green beans with bacon sprinkled on top. I believe the bacon crumbles were commercially prepared and were not made onsite. The servers were very nice but service was very slow. Music was extremely loud, so it was hard to enjoy dinner conversation. There were different sitting areas, so we probably could have made a different decision. Yeah, I may have had the best ribs I've had since we've been in Texas. We stumbled across this gem on accident and were pleasantly surprised. I was impressed particularly by the flavor or the dry rub and the texture of the ribs! They were the most flavorful, moist and tender ribs I think I've ever had! I'm talking fall apart and perfectly smoked! That Rosemary Paloma was everything too!! The rosemary infused simple syrup was such a clever addition to the already genius drink! Three brisket birria tacos for $10 at their food truck over at Oak Highlands Brewery, what an amazing deal. These tacos were delicious and have the perfect level of spice, the brisket was juicy and super tender and each taco had an ample amount of meat and toppings. My only critique would be that I would have loved for them to be quesibirria tacos with a lovely, melty layer of cheese underneath the brisket but honestly, these were so delicious that I'll allow it. I stopped by the Colony location because I had time to kill before I met up with some friends at another place nearby. It was not busy at all on a late Saturday afternoon - around 5pm. Walked right in to a sign that said seat yourself. I was not greeted until I sat down at the bar and the bartender spoke to me. I mentioned this because the people that came in after me were greeted energetically. Yes, it makes a difference. I knew what i wanted to eat because I had already scoped out the menu online. I'm here for the smoked wings folks! I did take a few moments to decide on a drink. During this time the servers were pretty much huddled at the side of the bar chit-chatting and gossiping. This continued for most of the night. Eh. To accompany the smoked wings I'd been stalking, I ordered the chopped salad and asked for the dressing on the side - it was a blueberry vinaigrette and I wanted to taste it before my salad got drenched in it. Also ordered the Fancy AF cocktail without the egg white. Everything came out pretty timely, again, it wasn't busy at all so I had no issues there. They forgot to put the dressing on the side but that was okay because I actually liked the flavor and it wasn't super soaked. Listen, the chopped salad was amazing! The candied pecans were the added crunch/sweetness I didn't know I needed in my life! Wish they would've chopped the onions as well but pretty solid and filling salad on its own. Now the wings. THE WINGS. I asked for them crispy and these wings had the perfect crisp to them. First bite sent me to Smokey flavor heaven. The wings are legit. They're served with buffalo & ranch dipping sauces. You don't really need either but the buffalo sauce is definitely kicking. I enjoyed my meal and drink and would definitely come back to order the same exact thing. My husband and I met another couple here after a college football game. It was a bit chilly outside but we were able to sit outside by the fire pit. It was so nice being to enjoy a nice fireside drink! We really enjoyed our entire experience. Service was great. The manager and waitress were both so kind about letting us sit outside (we were the only ones out there). The waitress gave us all kind of recommendations on drinks and even some suggestions because they were out of a few things. We ordered two specialty Old Fashions and they were delicious! I highly recommend any of their specialty drinks rather than normal ones. I ordered the peach cobbler but was drastically underwhelmed with it. The peaches were good as was the ice cream, but the cobbler part left something to be desired. Needed some seasoning and to be changed up a bit. read more
