I have dined here many times. Service is excellent and it is a nice place to eat. Food taste great! My only complaint is that even though the price per item goes up and up the quantity goes down and down. Alas I have decided to move on. I can receive a much larger quantity for the same or lesser price. Often I have contested the amount of brisket on a sandwich because half of it was pure fat !!! The bun has been reduced more and more and now it is so small I think I am receiving finger food. This is really reflected by the small amount of people eating here. read more

Everything was perfect. I've been to many HEB True Texas BBQs but this one was by far the BEST. We had ribs, turkey and moist brisket. All the meat was cooked to perfection. Boy they've gone downhill. I mean it's bad. It used to be a good place to get decent bbq like it was never going to win competitions but it was a fair deal. Now, I'd say never go to the HEB bbq place in Huntsville. Never. I paid over $22 for a 2 meat ate with 2 sides and what did I get? I got 4 slices of room temperature brisket that was a sickly light grey and slimy ah. The bean and greens were just water and it was all so gross I couldn't finish it. read more

I cannot believe how great this bbq is. I am hooked on their ribs, fatty brisket and pulled pork. They are cooked to perfection. The staff is always very sweet and they rarely mess up orders. The only complaint I have is sometimes the portions for the price are not the best, like the brisket chili. Other than that ,5 stars. read more

I stopped here specifically to try the torpedos. Based on the size the cashier told me they were, I ordered one. It was, at the most, half the size he had told me. To get a second one, it was going to be an hour and a half because they would have to cook another one. Apparently the one they handed me was the only one they had prepared. What barbecue place expects a customer to wait an hour and a half for them to cook the order. I just got a refund. I love H-E-B but this was an epic fail. read more

This cute little gem is hidden inside HEB!! The layout and decorations are super cute! I'm not a huge Barbeque eater, but my husband loves it so we stopped in for a quick bite! The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable! I tried the sausage and it was delicious!! The Barbecue sauce was very good as well! My husband wasn't a fan of the brisket. It was very fatty. The Mac and cheese lacked in flavor and the potato salad was just ok. Hated to leave a negative review but we are just being honest. read more

When I first moved to Huntsville in the beginning of 2020, True Texas BBQ was the first place I've ever ate at in town. I must say I was honestly really surprised at this gem of a place. Till this day, this is still my favorite BBQ place in town. It can be a little pricey, but you get what you pay for, and that's moist meats. I always get the brisket and ribs for my meats and they never fail to disappoint, not even once in 2 years. read more

Numbers...... Food: 5 out of 10.... I was highly disappointed in the food I received from here. I got the Brisket nachos and you can't fathom the disappointment because I heard some many good things. The sausage was extremely dry... How do you mess up sausage? The Brisket Nachos were just drenched in grease. Food was offensively inedible! The brisket was salty with no flavor and drenched in grease! The bbq sauce was standardly subpar. The mac and cheese was chalky and bland. The green beans also had no seasoning whatsoever! Tomatoes are NOT a seasoning! This food tasted like hospital food. Sad and very dissatisfied and dissapointed. Spectacular BBQ joint located inside the HEB. The ribs were juicy and peeled straight off the bone, the turkey was juicy and SO good, the Texas BBQ was spicy and delicious, complimented the food very well, you can have a brew or have a regular drink, overall it was a spectacular dining experience at a good cost read more

We have been to BBQ places all over Texas, and the brisket here is one of our favorites. We also put the brisket beans at the top of our list as well. To us, this is True Texas BBQ, as it's name states. Personally, we feel the quality of the brisket should weigh heaviest in a restaurant review like this one. Yes, it's inside a grocery store, so don't expect an environment like a Texas Roadhouse or Salt Grass Steakhouse. First time for me. Arrived to this location at 6:53pm just to my disappointment they were out of turkey! After contemplating to leave I instead ordered chicken, sliced brisket , beans and green beans to go After trying everything out the food was absolutely delicious minus the green beans that had way to many diced tomato to my liking. A hidden gem inside HEB that will hopefully become a mainstay of locations near my home. Fatty brisket rivals Rudy's and Woody's and definitely try the brisket beans. Also had the sauced chopped brisket, which was a great option if you like some added flavor. BBQ sauces were good, but the meat didn't need it. Taking off a star for cleanliness.
