Sorry to hear that this location in Plaza Frontenac is closing after more than 50 years! However,…read morethe last time I was in the store about a year ago, I was dismayed. The stock in the men's department was disappointing, now I know why - they weren't paying suppliers and many vendors had stopped sending them clothes. The designers that were featured were only for hip-hop and athletic styles. Gone were the elegant clothes I was expecting. The same was true when I was recently in Las Vegas and New Orleans, those stores are also on the closure list. Sad times in retail and for luxury brands. Au revoir SAKS.

On today I visited the store arriving about 1pm and had unfortunately received deplorable customer…read moreservice from an associate, Tracy. I was working with my associate, Lori; however, I was inquiring about a product that was more in the scope of Tracy. Lori attempted to engage Tracy's knowledge and not only did Tracy disrespect Lori, she disregarded me as a customer of Saks. I wanted a particular Kilian fragrance and Tracy did confirm that the one I wanted had been discontinued to Lori. I then addressed Tracy inquiring if there was one similar to my original inquiry. Tracy said yes and proceeded to walk in the direction of the Kilian counter. She then abruptly turned around and said "you all can go over there and find it." To be clear, she was not working with anyone at that time, so we were not keeping her from another customer and after saying her last comment, she went right back to looking on her phone. She was totally dismissive to me and had it not been for Lori standing there, I would have let Tracy know in that moment how ridiculous behavior was. As a long time customer of Saks, I know that your associates are not trained to behave in such a manner. Makes me wonder if I was Caucasian if she would have reacted differently. There are far too many options of where I can spend my money that sell the same items, if this behavior is acceptable then maybe I need to go elsewhere. This interaction reduced my rating; however, please know my associate Lori is a 5 star and beyond.

I guess I'm running out of time to review this location. It closes late next month!…read more I've only shopped here a few times and I've never bought anything. It's too fancy/expensive for me. It's like Dillard's, but a fraction of the size/floors, and even more sparsely merchandised. Positives: The staff gives you plenty of space. The store is never crowded. Um, maybe those sound negative... I didn't mean it that way. I visited today hoping to see some sort of a going out of business sale. I adore those. No such thing. Only an anniversary sale worded something like "prices go up August 4." What an original way to communicate such.

I suppose I would've formatted this as a normal review but it's Nordstorm Rack. Specifically the…read moreone in Galleria where I am pretty sure I have memorized all of the employee's faces. I actually haven't, because that's creepy, but let's just say that I tend to shop here a lot. Nordstrom Rack! Okay, Where do I start? Pros: - Wide variety of merchandise, lots to choose from. - Well organized shelfs, not much out of place. - Easy to navigate, arrows and signs all that other jazz really help. - They're not understaffed. That's a problem I see in most retail, but there is help in almost every corner of the store. - Presentation. Store seemed clean, organized and the way they present merchandise is awesome. It has a nice aesthetic to it. - Restrooms were decently clean. Cons - Returns can have a long wait, be sure that you have a receipt or a email pulled up. That too, and because maybe ten other people just so happen to have to return stuff on that specific time and day for some reason. - Trash cans were overfilling, I mean overfilling. I wish that the janitor service here could improve. - Some staff tend to be impatient, definitely. There are some good eggs, but some can just be meanies. - Some prices were unfair in my opinion. It's not their fault, but I just wish that some brands could lower their prices. I do still enjoy shopping here, but I definitely think there is more to be improved. Other than that, keep up the good work. A decent retail chain.
