In town for a short vacay. After a long trail walk on a very warm day, we were ready for refreshing drinks. We decided to give Truewin a try since it was close and had good Yelp ratings. The interior was clean and the display was catchy. Their pricing is lower than other shops I have frequented. They also offer a Senior discount if ordered in person. The employee who was working did not have good customer service skills. She immediately directed me to the self serve kiosk. When I asked her if I can apply the discount there, she gave me a displeased look, flipped the tablet toward her, and said I'll help you here. I wished the menu included a description of each drink's ingredients. When I asked the employee, she seemed annoyed and answered so quickly that I had to request her to repeat what she said several times. Each time, she became more impatient. I opted for the lychee with tea jelly. I've had different types of jelly, yet never tried tea jelly. It had a good, strong tea flavor. Unfortunately, the drink itself was watery and I could barely taste the lychee. My son opted for the Lucky Jasmine milk tea and also said his drink tasted watered down. My friend who is not particular did not really care for her King mango pomelo either. Even though I didn't receive courteous service and our drinks were just mid, I still left a nominal tip. I worked in the service industry throughout HS and college and tips were always helpful. There's an old adage - "You get what you pay for". When I first came here a year ago, I gave it 5 stars and have been coming back every time I'm in the area. But my latest visit was so disappointing that I won't be coming back again. They no longer allow customers to use the bathroom or the wifi, and the ratio of boba in my drink was way too little. Normally I could overlook a one time boba ratio issue but all of these issues together make it seem like they're being deliberately stingy. Guess it's time to find a new favorite place. Each piece was perfectly coated with seasoning that was the perfect spice level, it was a good mix of legs/rings, and it was perfectly cooked, not rubbery at all! I actually tried their mixed fruit tea and I really like how it is aesthetic pleasing with the presentation with different layers of colors and fresh fruits from Boba to fresh strawberries to fresh orange slices which looks really nice. Also the Boba is really fresh and it was chewy and it has really nice sweet flavor to it. . I had to try their matcha black sesame drink with milk and it was so good and it was so pleasing with the layer and it was so pretty. I also added some boba in it because I love chewing the topping. . I also got to try the Ube flavor and the original flavor. I wish the souffle was hot otherwise it would have been perfect. The cream isn't too sweet and the strawberry one was my favorite. The Ube had a really nice coconut flavor and some Oreo dusting to it. I love their teas and I am a repeat customer. May favorites are the Cream Peach Green Tea and the Cream Grape Green Tea. The only thing that needs a lot of improvement is the service. The kiosk is the only way to order. And because the menu is huge, people take forever to decide what to get, occupying the kiosk for average 8min + per person. There is no service at all. The staff doesn't take the order from you or give recommendations. So even though it takes forever for the ppl to stand in front of the kiosk, you just have to wait. And the checkout automatically charges you 15% tips. Make sure to select your top option if you do not want to pay extra. The app doesn't have the discount/offer they text you. So using the app isn't really a choice if you want to take advantage of the discounts. I like the teas but hope to see improvement from the management on the ordering process. read more

I genuinely do like Truewin Tea Shoppe, however, my most recent visit left to be desired. I understand and truly expected it to be busy, especially when there is a special promotion going on, in this case it was buy 1 get 1 free on the drinks. My grip is why have ordering available through the Snackpass app, if it's only going to take twice as long, compared to ordering in store using the kiosk? I ordered ahead through the Snackpass app, and had my order placed at 3:09pm. I didn't get my drinks until almost 3:40ish! Yet, the people that stood in line at the store waiting to use the kiosks, got their drinks ahead of me and I had placed my order way before them... It turns out they have two separate printers, one that prints out kiosk orders and one that prints out app orders. Nevertheless, I think when they have such popular promotions, they need to have better system in place.
