As a customer at Truefire Saturday night, I was very aware of the incident involving the 4 women and the little girl being escorted out the front door. OH my god. After much convincing by my boss, I gave this place a try for lunch one day. This Latin Fire pizza is hands down THE best pizza that I have ever tasted. The crust was perfect, the sauce was flavorful and rich, and the avocados were fresh and perfectly ripe. Brunch is amazing. I decided on the Trufire Omelette, even though there were so many other great items to choose from. I was not disappointed. Truthfully, the omelette looks and sounds like something that shouldn't work, with eggs, french fries, sour cream, salsa, cheese, and more on it. But it all comes together very nicely and is paired perfectly with a sweet potato hash. I had a blackberry mimosa to help wash it down and it was awesome. Service was amazing. Really amazing. We made a res and were seated immediately. We started with the paddle board. (Just know if you're sharing there isn't much cheese. Plenty of other items on the board especially the meats but 4 tiny tiny little wedges of cheese and then you've gotta split that by x people. There were 3 of us.) Delish esp the honeycomb and the yummy yummy hot bread. We each ordered separate. I ordered the Trumac because I can't not order it...it's so yummy. My friends order the salmon with spinach and quinoa salad and the other ordered the gyro platter. The gyyro meat is delish. I snagged a bite and it was the best I've had. It is a bit of a thicker cut (not super thin) but that's what made it so yummy. The tzatiki needed more taste but all the sides on the platter to add to the meat is good. (The pita bread comes with 4 small triangles. FYI if you're a pita bread lover there won't be enough pita to meat ratio). The salmon comes as once piece on the salad and it's huge! Nice portion there. For dessert we did the chocolate cake w chocolate ice cream. It was delish. Love the crunchy of the outside cake and the soft yumminess inside. Perfect if you want to share and just have a bite. Atmosphere was great. Because it's so dark in there it makes you feel like even though you're in a room of people you're separate from others. Kinda like when you were little if you closed your eyes you thought your parents couldnt see you anymore. Overall great night. Just be aware of odd portions for the cheese and pita. read more

Nice restaurant with good food. It was crowded for a Tuesday night, so that's a good sign. We had the Falafel Platter and Hummus as starters. The tzatziki and hummus were good. They could probably give a little more tzatziki on the actual platter, but they bring you more if you ask. I had the gyro platter which was good--its kind of a deconstructed gyro sandwich with potatoes. The prices were pretty good. It seems like a good place to meet up with friends after work. read more

Recently went to TruFire to celebrate a friends birthday. The food was great as is the atmosphere. The thing that will have me coming back time and again was the desert! My wife and I come here probably once a month or so, and I have to say, we have never been disappointed. Every meal we have, we also talk about how Frisco just can't grow fast enough, because we are looking forward to more places of this caliber to open up here. I never thought I would say this, but I'm tired of Tex-Mex and cheap Italian/pizza. The flat breads are delicious. Hamburgers, delicious. Specialty drinks, delicious. But my favorite dish there is probably the Diablo Chicken Pasta. It's delicious. Not to spicy, but spicy enough to keep me coming back for more. I really dig the vibe of the place too. Had a good experience once before so wanted to try again. Made a suggestion about the music volume and the waitress said the owners don't listen to their suggestions. She did not ask how we wanted the $12 burger cooked and it came out over well done. The bun was so soggy that it fell apart. Accidents happen but then the manager came over and did not handle the issue well. He haggled over how the burger usually comes out and then finally took it away to be redone. Vibrant Atmosphere. Good Service. Good Food. Had the Black Splash as many yelpers had recommended. It was yummy but was there any alcohol in it?....Had no kick :-( But I am sure the wine is definitely good there. I saw many people with wine glasses. Had the rosemary chicken pizza. It was very thin crusted and very garlic-y but tasty. Perfect amount of cheese and chicken was cooked well. I had to grab a lot of mint patties on my way out to deal with garlic smell though ...hahahaha... Hubby had the rib eye sandwich which he said was very flavorful. The sweet potato fries was awesome. It was lightly fried and sprinkled with Parmesan and garlic served with two dipping sauces.....so yummy...I must have eaten most of them ... I really love this place and would definitely wait if there were a line. The cozy ambiance and warm decor perfectly matches their modern Mediterranean/ Italian menu. TruFire is on the small side and has the perfect mix of high top, regular and outdoor seating. Drinks are always good with their fresh sangria being one of my faves. My son and I usually split a Tri-cheese pizza and order of sweet fries, while my fiance usually orders a pasta dish and requests it to be prepared vegetarian. The waitstaff is consistently accommodating and pleasant. I wouldn't come in flip flops, ratty jeans or with 10 kids in tow, but it's not overly dressy and well behaved children or teens could dine here with no problem. Me and my girlfriend tried this place for dinner recently and we really liked it! We were a little late for our reservation but they found another table for us quickly! I spoke with the owner who I met thru my work and told him the situation and after we ordered he brought out fried calamari for our table. The food was great! I had the ceasar salad and added chicken ! The dressing was good and very garlicy. My friend had a fish dish that came with huge tomatoes , he said they were the best he's had since he was a kid. The flourless chocolate Cake was delicious as well! Overall a good experience , however it was a little too loud for my taste, and the service could have been a little bit better, our drinks were frequently left empty, they were very nice at the host stand and the runners for food as well!I would def go back again for the food and nice atmosphere! read more

Our table had a couple of cocktails and a few bottles of beer. Cocktails were very good, but I wish they had draft/keg beer though. We shared the platter appetizer and it was really good and a nice start for the 4 of us. Main entries we had were the burgers, Chicken Marsala and mac-n-cheese. All were very good. I got the sweet potato fries with my burger and they were good, but I prefer them a bit crispier. Service was excellent and we only had a 30 minute wait at 6pm on a Saturday. The music was a little too loud for some of us at the table. They have a few TVs spread around so we could catch glimpses of the football games while waiting at the bar and during our meal. This is a great little spot. Great ambiance, wonderful food, and terrific service. Couldn't really ask for much more. We had the Lil Goat for an appetizer and it was really delicious! For dinner, my wife had the Texas Pecan Salad and added steak. I had a tough time deciding between the Ribeye Sandwich and the Carbonara. So I got both. :) The sandwich comes on a half loaf and the bread is a bit too hard for my liking. Taste was awesome! I would switch the bread to some sort of softer bun and add more caramelized onion sauce next time. Carbonara was really tasty, but I thought sure it was a half serving until I got the bill and saw they charged me for a full. Idk, maybe they thought since I was getting two, they could skimp. It was tiny. Like a kids portion, honestly. For dessert, we had the Lemon Cake and a Ricotta Cheesecake w Chocolate Cake Crust. Both were great, but the Lemon Cake was a nice light dessert and perfect for the end of a big meal. We had over half of the Cheesecake left over for the next day and I ate it today. Until last night I have had great experiences at this restaurant. Unfortunately, last night was not a peasant one. Our waitress was less than attentive, rather lackluster in hospitality, and not knowledgeable about the wines that were being carried. She admitted that she had not tried most of them, which seems ludicrous since that means her recommendations for wine pairings would be complete shots in the dark. The tomahawk pork chop I ordered could barely be cut through, it was lukewarm in the middle, and the bone fragments that had not been carefully butchered sliced open my mouth. Had it not been so dark where we were sitting I might have been better able to see what the problems with my food were. Rather than ambience lighting it was pretty much bat cave dark. Needless to say I didn't finish my dinner, but rather had it boxed to go. I am glad I did because it was not until I got home that I realized why I could not cut through the pork chop. The meat was so undercooked that it was completely raw in the middle. It was completely pink inside, not just slightly pink. I am upset that I had to experience this dinner last night and hope that it was a one time mistake. I would love to give them another chance, but I think my appetite for this place has been rather spoiled at this point. read more

I returned with two coworkers after talking with the manager, Sarah, and I must say that our experience was very good. Our server was warm and attentive. I tried a few different dishes, and I was much happier than the last few times. I ordered the ribeye and hash, which was well seasoned and tender. The hash was delicious, though a preponderance of butter and bacon certainly assisted in increasing both the flavor profile and the calorie count. We got the lil' goat for an appetizer, which was a unique and very delicious combination of goat cheese, tomatoes, basil, and jam over pita. I'd order that again. My coworkers ordered the sockeye salmon and the seared tuna salad, and they both very much enjoyed those healthier dishes. This visit certainly changed my opinion, and we will return again from time to time for lunch. read more

I visited TruFire Saturday night to celebrate of my friend's birthday.  We were a party of 5. We placed our name on the wait list and had a drink at the bar next door.  Trufire was packed and there was no room to wait inside.  We received a call at 7:39pm to tell us our table was ready.  We walked inside the lobby at 7:43pm, and the hostess informed us that our table was being bused and would be ready shortly.  We waited behind the hostess stand and continued to visit among ourselves.  After another 10-15 minutes, we asked the hostess when the table would be ready, and she informed us that they had given the table to another guest.  (Despite the phone call where they were told we were closing out the bar tab and would be right there.)  I asked if there was a grace period or window of time before they give a table away to another guest.  She said that her manager made the decision and it was out of her control.  I asked to speak to the manager.  He walked by the hostess stand, and I expressed my concern that our table was given away to someone else.  I asked him why they wouldn't have waited the 5 minutes.  He stated, "First off, you're going to believe a 17-year-old?"  He apologized for the wait and stated that there are several people waiting and that there is nothing that can be done.  He said that they had several tables camp out because the football game (that was on in the bar) went into overtime, and customers were not leaving.  He thanked us for waiting and walked away.  He was smug and insincere.  We waited for an extra 20-25 minutes, and then were taken to a table.  The manager walks our group to a hightop table (cocktail table) in the bar that has 5 chairs around it.  Everyone proceeds to sit down, as I state the this table is really not big enough for 5 of us to eat dinner.  He states, "Well, there are 5 chairs that fit around this table, so it holds 5 people."  I tell him that we'd like to have a nice birthday dinner with bottles of wine, and this table is not big enough. He then proceeds to say, "Do you know what would have happened if I didn't give you the next table available."  Quite honestly, I was shocked that he was arguing with me.  We'd had been waiting almost 45 minutes and were ready to order appetizers and wine.  I asked if we could sit there until a larger table becomes available. He said absolutely not and asked how I could ask that when he could give this table to someone else waiting. As he walked around the table picking up the menus, I stated, "Now I feel like I'm arguing with my 14-year-old."  That must have struck a nerve because he turned around and started pointing his finger telling me that I was not going to talk to him like that and we all needed to leave the restaurant immediately.  One of my friends said calmly, "Sir, there is a child at this table, please watch your tone of voice."  He then stated, "well, she is arguing with me."  I looked at him and said "I'm barely speaking to you." He proceeded to repeatedly demand over and over for us to leave the restaurant.  I politely asked him if he was the general manager, and he yells, "of course I am!"  The two other girls in our party (who had sat there quietly while this unfolded) finally stood up from the table and shouted back at him for him to stop speaking to us like that and to stop his finger-pointing.  We all got up and walked out of the restaurant.  He followed us to the door and proceeds to walk outside of the restaurant as he is still arguing and screaming with one of the girls in our group.  He then proceeds to do one last finger-pointing movement while he shouts, "You are all banned from this restaurant forever and NEVER WELCOMED BACK."   As I sit here writing this, I am still speechless that this person is the General Manager in any service industry.  Truly amazing.  My friends were extremely upset and one of their husbands wrote a review.  Sarah, the business manager, (who I have not met, nor did I see during our visit to the restaurant) paints a story of us insulting and using profanity towards the manager.  I can assure you, as my 11-year-old daughter sat at the table, and considering I run a customer service department, I did not insult nor use profanity towards this manager.  He asked us to leave while we were all calmly sitting at the cocktail table. read more

TruFire is a unique restaurant. I started going because a former co worker's sister and brother in law own it. I have tried quite a few selections in the restaurant but my favorite is the Mediterrean Shrimp Salad. This is the best salad ever. The shrimp are plump and they give you a good number of them. The salad dressing, is just that dressing, not drowning. The dressing adds to the flavors instead of overpowering them. This is a great place to have drinks, lunch and dinner. The menu is mostly pasta, but they have some great fish dishes also. read more
