worst company and customer service ever. We hired them for a year and our lawn looked terrible, we had a lot of weeds and it looked like they were only treating part of our lawn. I had to call several times to have them re-treat. Finally we just wanted to cancel them and they said they want to send out a manager to talk to us about our lawn. They sent out a salesman who just wanted to sign us up for tree/shrub service (really?). We called back and the "manager" said he was going to give us 3 free treatments to "make it right". Well, don't give them your credit card to keep on file because they charged me for 2 treatments that were supposed to be free. I had to call several times requesting a credit and finally just disputed it through my bank. I told them to only come on Wednesday's and they just showed up other days. After 3 months of service, my lawn is thicker and greener but persistent weeds are rampant. Before you sign the service agreement, make sure you have the correct sq footage of your property because that is what will be treated (usually). 1,900 vs 12,000 sq foot is a huge difference. I should have opted out once I realized this, but was told that if the entire yard is supposed to be done, that is what will be done. Once in a while you will get a employee to do the whole yard and not do what is on the contract. Then there are times they will come and do exactly what is on the order ie: 1,900 sq ft VS 12,000 sq ft. If you get Anthony, he will do your entire lawn no matter what the agreement says re: sq footage. One worker came and flipped the hose here and there and was gone in 5-7 minutes max. (I watched) He did 900 sq ft according to the ticket and yes I have 12,000 sq ft. I am back to doing it all myself. Not good business practices just to get a sale. Once this is corrected by home office, you sh be in good hands. I wanted Anthony every time but that did not happen. We sh have trust in who we hire. Just because a sign is in your yard, does not mean they did they work. Sh not have to watch every move. Suggesting we all just do it and get some exercise. read more

They called me back after they saw this review. They should have called me back after my 20 calls to them to get help. They aerated my lawn without permission, gave me terrible service and now they want me call them back. Fat chance. Run the other way. Stay away from this company. They are terrible!!!!! read more

I have been using TruGreen for several years in a row now, and I have been satisfied with their lawn care service. Our subdivision was on former farm land, so it had a lot of weeds, but the monthly treatments have been keeping the weeds at bay, and the fertilizer keeps the grass green from spring to fall. I like how the lawn technician spot-treats some trouble spots, and I really like the note they leave on the doorknob with details about the service they performed. The only thing I don't like is that they call too often offering other services. read more

I was a semi-satisfied customer for over 15 years. I built a pool and outdoor fireplace, and laid 8-10 pallets of new expensive Zoysia sod. The grass was struggling early June and I requested someone to come out and talk to me about it. I couldn't get anyone to come out, return my calls, etc. It was unbelievable to me that they cared so little about my years of customer loyalty. I switched to a higher rated company and already feel the difference in effective communication and concern for me as a customer. And my new zoysia is now growing gangbusters. It's a shame TG had to lose my business simply because they didn't care. read more

The worst service ever. I paid for front, side and back lawn to be treated. Only front lawn was treated the first few month. After spring this year, front lawn started to look terrible, full of weeds. I called back and they sent a tech out 5 different times with no result. I asked to get half of the money back and they refused to. The management only know how to say "no". I will report to BBB next. Stay away from this company!!! read more

I had signed up for the company to call me. I was interested in having my yard done. Not an emergency but interested. Starting at 8:14 am this morning, TruGreen started calling my phone every 30 minutes. They did not leave a message. I was at work and needless to say my boss was not very happy. After 11 calls, my manager asked me to deal with it. Yep, I dealt with it. I asked them to put me on their Do Not Call List. They lost my and potentially other members of my family business. Hired them earlier this year, paid up front. Had new lawn installed last year and now trugreen has killed it. Totally brown. I will sue them in court, but everyone else needs to know they are terrible. Will harm your lawn and you will never hear from them. never do what they say will do. Paid for a year in advance, cancelled the service before they could bill me again. Gave up one treatment that was paid for and did not care, just didn't want to deal with them any further. Horrible service!! When I managed to get them to show up, the treatments were partial. Have home security cameras so I had a chance to watch them. Not once did they treat the entire yard, usually 50-60% of it. Call them back to do it right, they show up with a 2 gallon hand sprayer and spot treat only. They were trouble from start to finish. As for the weeds, saw no decrease in weeds. When they fertilized saw no significant greening of the grass. When I followed up treating it myself, presto, deep green grass. Not sure if they ever actually applied anything to my yard other than water. Don't go anywhere near these guys or you will be writing the same review as the rest of us. read more

Incredibly disappointment in this company! We began our service earlier this month. Our first treatment was great. The second one was a nightmare. The technician arrived at our home at 11:17am. At 11:20 I received a message through the app asking me to rate my completed service. Three minutes for an entire yard?? We don't live on a postage stamp, I highly doubt you finished in that time. I called customer service and they told me "the technician will call you in 24-48 hours and you can dispute it with him". Now why in the world would I dispute this with the person who said he finished the yard in the first place? My husband was anything but happy with this response and called customer service back. They eventually transferred him to a local branch who apologized and called the technician themselves to send him back. Shortly after that call the technician called me. Claimed he did my yard and he was now 20 minutes away and they wanted him to go back. He told me to call my neighbors and ask them if he did it. I had already reached out to a neighbor who works from home across the street and she told me she never saw him in our yard. When I told him that I did not believe his claim he hung up on me. Really?? I called the company, they apologized, offered a free service etc. I did not want it and actually cancelled my service. Do you think I would ever trust this individual near my house again? Within 15 minutes I received a text message from the technician saying " 3 mins away you need to be home so you watch what you don't believe". Then another "Your home TREATED AGAIN .... understand lying to try and get free things is not humane at all you made me look as if I'm not doing my job to my higher up for extra services that's not very good at all but I understand forgiveness so God bless have a great day". TruGreen gave the generic apology and stated that this individuals views were not representative of theirs. We hired their company to make an informed decision on who to send to our home. TruGreen provided this man with my address and phone number, so whether or not they agree with his statements, his actions were their responsibility. I received an advertisement staying " Good Price No Contract". I called to see what the "good price" for one application was. I did not want a contract! Anyway, I called the person that left the advertisement on the door. He did not want to give me a price for one application, like mentioned in the ad. Instead I was confronted with high pressure sales tactics. It was worse than dealing with a used car salesman. I even told him several times to quit the sales talk and give me a price. He texted me a price for 3 applications. However, I told him repeatedly that I only wanted one. For 2 days I received approx. 20 calls from Chem lawn. I never returned any of these calls and never agreed to any service. However, I came home from work and received an invoice on my door as well as information concerning my Annual Contract. Supposedly service was performed on my yard without my authorization. I don't mind paying for something if I agree to it. However, we never agreed on a price or a time for this service. Further more, my yard does not look any different after 3 days. None of the weeds have started to die out. My next door neighbor had her yard treated by a competitor on the same day and there is a big difference. read more

I have never been so aggravated with any company as much as I have been with trugreen and the "service" they sell. I moved into a new home and the old tenants left the home a wreck. Lawn was awful blend of weeds and grass. The first few months I managed to get rid of the weeds with store brand fertilizers and taking care of the lawn myself. There were bare spots in a few places and "crab grass" I hired trugreen and they claimed they offer the "best" fertilizer and lawn care and within a season my lawn would be thick green and so on. Within 4-5 applications weeds started growing back, bare spots were still there and I saw NO CHANGE AT ALL. I did call and complain to get a "free visit" but instead I keep getting more sales pitches. Apparently for there commercial strength fertilizer to work I need to pay 180 a year for extra "this and that" yet the store "weak brand" I've been using works incomparable to theirs. I called and told them to stop all treatments until I spoke to a manager reguarding the results in my lawn I should be expecting. The very next day I get an automated message telling me I have a service scheduled the next day. So I called back and canceled the service all together. They swore up and down a manager would call me in quote "24-48 hours" two weeks later another automated message. I have canceled this service 5 TIMES. And still no call from a manager. And to top it all off, what pushed me over the edge to write this review where I will post everywhere I can tonight is, I came home today from work to a receipt on my mail box from non other than yes,... trugreen. Who came to service my lawn. I will be at the bank tomorrow opening a case and I will get my money back. But please support local small business and stay away from these big crooks. read more
