The running joke with TrueGreen is that they that aren't bad if "You stay in top of them." but the reality is that they really just suck something awful. If aggressive sales tactics, inconsistent service leading to a dead lawn, unsolicited texts messages from random sales associates and poor account management are your thing then these guys are perfect for you. I signed up for a year of service for right around $1K, and after about 6 months it was clear that my pristine lawn was suffering badly. The service associates will find any reason not to do your yard if it's fenced, or if you have a pet. Turns out their slack service was a good thing because I'm only having to re-sod my front lawn on account of them being too lazy to service the back yard. So, $5K later I'll get my front lawn back next spring, and never let these clowns step foot on my property again. We'd laugh about it because we have them on camera doing just that about a dozen or so times throughout the year. I canceled my services, only to get one more $300 bill for the services they didn't perform, and when I told them they'd failed to complete any of their obligations they sent the bill to collections. They tend to come in with a strong-arm approach and leave the same way. I've found a great local company to do the same work with zero headache for a bit less, and that's what I'd recommend everyone do. Terrible Customer Service.....I've been a client of TruGreen now for since 2019. Called in this morning to review my treatment plan and could not get someone on the phone that gave a rats ass! The first person I spoke with was obliviously at home... I could not understand her, you could not hear her for all the noise in her house. She ended up lying to me and she hung up on me. The second time I called it took 5 minutes for the lady to get all the people out of her house so she could hear me! Called again and got someone in the Carribbean ! Trugreen needs to bring their staff into the office where they can see them but right now you guys are getting screwed as these people on the phone could careless. Run away!!! Do not use Trugreen. We used them for 2-3 years off and on with the results not being what we desired. There were just as many if not more weeds that pooped up in our lawn as when we applied store bought weed killer ourselves. Also, they were always super pushy with trying to get you to add services such as lawn aeration (which can easily be done yourself) or "you have bugs eating your flowers, let us take care of that". We took care of the very few bugs ourselves. NOW, the main reason I don't like trugreen is that they harass you. We told them we no longer wanted to is their service; however, they tried to lure us back with a deal which we declined. I then proceeded to get called by TruGreen every weekday for 3 weeks straight. I blocked the number as spam and then a different number called me for 2 weeks straight. This cycle happened once again with me blocking the number, etc. I finally answered and stated again that we do not want their service, so then they called my husband's number. They sold me on a promotional offer for my first time using Trugreen. I have a security system around my house and noticed that they completely failed show up and complete any service. For this reason I canceled the service after they said it had been "completed" still paying the $8.75 promotional price just so I did not have to go through the hassle of getting the run around from Trugreen over $8.75. About 3 months later I got a letter in the mail from collections stating I owed them $43.72. I called Trugreen and spoke with the GM who dined any sort of promotion and offered no resolution to my service NOT even being completed! (Was willing to send all camera activity for the day the service was supposed to be done) Even though all this is documented in the trugreen app that I had paid for the promotional cost they refuse to admit that I received poor service and will not get rid of the balance due. It is now 5 months later and I am receiving my 2nd notice from collections about a balance still open of $43.72. It is truly disappointing a company can have such little respect for people. Take responsibility for your action and do not false advertise. Please save yourself the time and money just DO NOT use this company. Would of probably still been using them if they could of provided a quality service. Little alone a service at all! I understand why there reviews are so low now. If I could I would give-5 stars. A tech knocked on my door advertising service. I specifically said im looking for someone to weed my garden and to keep it maintained. The tech said yes we do that and we will also take care of your lawn. So I said yes. Sign me up. Turns out the tech lied just so he can get his commission. I had a Truegreen sales person stop by and try to sign me up for service. I told him I did not need the service but wanted a one time aeration. After he finally left he called me and said he had approval from his manager to do a one time aeration. That was done and all was well. The next year someone aerated again but only did the front yard. There were no signs on his truck I asked the guy if I was being charged an he said "No, its part of your service" I assumed it was part of my new lawn service with a landscape company and did not worry about it. This year I get a automated call from Truegreen telling me I am scheduled for aeration tomorrow. I called and told them there must be a mistake because I dont use them. She said "No, you are enrolled for yearly aerations." WTH??? I asked if they aerated last year and she said they did and they had charged my American Express $151.00. I asked for a refund and to be taken out of their system. I'll see if it happens... They are a slippery bunch of people. Heads up..We have been True Green customers since 1989. We have noticed over the past few years negligence and horrible customer service. We finally decided to terminate our association with True Green. We never have had them treat our back yard because we have always had dogs. One morning a week or so ago I got up..let my dog out and happened to see one of their signs in the back that they had treated the lawn. I called them up very concerned for my dog and was nonchalantly told to call back if I see any signs of illness. I asked what should I be looking for. The response was " I have no idea'. As it turns out, after talking to my vet, our Charlie was okay. The day after I saw wide deep streaks of totally dead grass in the back. We called the .a tech came over ..took pictures..told us that it was probably due to a stuck valve on the fertilizer..no big deal to them. He assured us a manager would contact us. I was a new customer. On my first visit they were suppose to treat my front and back yard. The front yard was done, but the backyard was not. I called in to schedule my next visit. A date was set. For the exception of 2 female (mother/daughter) mosquito defense techs employed by this company, we have been extremely dissatisfied with our TruGreen experience. I have personally witnessed several male techs sitting in their trucks outside our home for 15-20 min on their phones before getting out to spend all of 2-3 min doing a half a$$ job. Just this week I had to catch one of the young techs before he was about to drive off and asked why he didn't treat our back yard. He said the instructions on his phone were to only treat the front yard today and I could call customer service and take it up with them! I asked to see proof where it said that and he wouldn't show me. He did get out and sprayed the back per my request annoyed and in a big hurry leaving our gate wide open. Thankfully I discovered before my dogs got out. I immediately called customer service to ask about the "front yard only" instruction which of course was a complete lie. We have also suspected on several occasions they show up long enough to just put their paperwork in the front door and never even actually do the service based on the video and notifications we receive on the Ring doorbell. We have had to call them to return on several occasions to retreat for weeds, most likely because they were never treated properly or even at all the first time. For such a large, well known lawn service company, TueGreen seem to be losing in their customer service/reviews game. I have never read so many terrible reviews! Do not use Trugreen, especially the Suwanee, GA branch! They are dishonest, unprofessional, and unreliable. I have used Trugreen lawn service for the past 5 years. I prepay each year for the coming 12 months of service. This year the "technicians" have repeatedly said they serviced the yard when they did not even visit my house. We were home all day, we have ring motion detection and a blink motion detector camera and no motion was detected. Also no yard sign or paper receipt left as had been done in the past. Each time we reported the issue and Trugreen offered to send someone else out to provide the service treatment. After the 3 times this occurred I called and cancelled the rest of the years service and was told I would get a check for the unused portion of the year. Almost 4 months have passed with me calling every 4 - 5 weeks and each time told a check had been sent. No checks received yet. Each time I speak with customer service folks I get a different answer. I have asked to speak with a Supervisor and have been told they can't connect me but that a supervisor will call me back either that day or the next. No calls from supervisor yet. Don't use this company! I've been a customer since April of 2019 for their mosquito plus service and I am not a happy customer. Reasons why NOT to go with them: 1. I've received notifications on several occasions of services rendered with a NO show/NO service, particularly by their specialist Travon Williams. (I have my security camera to back me up). 2. Billed for services I NEVER received. 3. Too many phone calls to customer service inquiring about a NO service and billing for a service NEVER rendered. 4. Several requests for a call back from a service manager to try and fix the issue with NO response. Not a call back, not an email, nothing. I even got a door hanger from one of their own guys that said "hey your yard could use treating for all those weeds". I had three treatments in a 1.5 month period all of which never killed a single weed through winter. After many, many irate calls to Trugreen national number as the Suwanee branch does not take direct calls, I finally got a call from the service manager who i insisted come to see my yard.. James Yelverton (Service manager) had this to say about my yard after 1 year of treatment. "This is failure of epic proportions". "I am embarassed at what I have witnessed." James saw my home on a Monday after missing his Friday appointment and not rescheduling until I called him, He stated he understood that i wanted to cancel and would get me a refund and would have a pro treat my yard. Guess what....nobody came and by the following monday. I then drove to the branch to talk about a refund and talked to the branch manager. Gary Moore (Branch manager) said "What can we do to make this right. We can only refund one treatment and not any more". But they deserve it, I used this branch for 2 years and my weed problem never improved, in fact it may have gotten worse. Anyways my original gripe besides them doing a pathetic job at treating my lawn was that I saw them leave a note at my neighbors door one day (like they always do), except the forgot to spray the lawn. I think the problem is they hire low wage laborers who could care less about your lawn so stuff like this probably happens all the time. Had the service for about five or six years and fired them when there was a dispute over aeration and missing half the yard or more _ twice_ . I rehired them a year ago when a neighbor gave an outbreak of dandelions. They got the dandelions but now more than half my lawn is Dallis grass.. I had a competing company stop by and cold call me to tell me that I needed a lawn service. I decided to try them.They assured me that could do better. Worst. "Service". Ever. This go-round, we have had enough. Technician, (to use the word loosely), came two weeks ago when my husband just happened to be home. My husband went over what he was suppose to do. It was obvious to my husband the guy did not want to go to the trouble of actually "doing" his job; it seemed such a burden for him to have to pull out all those hoses, go around the yard and apply the chemicals where needed. HUGE places were missed, as 3 days later it became evident when patches of tall, healthy weeds came up nice and thick; there was also weed killer applied between 2 crepe myrtle trees, and where the week before the ground cover was doing nicely, it is now DEAD! We called and were told we would have someone come out and take a look at the damage, (a free service call) and we advised we did not want the same technician back. They called two times last week to let us know someone was coming, and they were a no-show. Then we got a call on Friday to state we were scheduled for an aeration service. I called Saturday to cancel the aeration, because we want to seed after the aeration takes place. No sense seeding while we still have these nice tall weeds, is there?! SOOOOO, the service rep assures me that a MANAGER would call, set up an appointment to come meet with my husband and show him the trouble spots. Would call either Monday (today), or no later than Tuesday. I assured her that if this did not happen, we were through. Well, today, hubs gets an automated call stating they would be here tomorrow for our monthly service call....are you seeing a pattern here? Seems they only want to schedule appointments, get that money they work soooooo hard for...(pfffttt), and make no real, concerted effort to SOLVE THE PROBLEM and provide real CUSTOMER SERVICE.
