A multitude of fun flavors are offered here - of which are loaded with stuff and not just a base flavor. I found that the ingredients were fresh. For example, the brownies in my ice cream were definitely real brownies and not just those frozen ones that you usually find. Plus, the price is right and it's open during the winter! read more

Prefect ice cream spot! They have a ton of soft serve favors - the day we went they had a cookie/oreo flavor in addition to the classic chocolate vanilla or twist (The menu is always changing) I got classic vanilla soft serve because I was in the mood for a classic and it really hit the spot. They have very big portions of high quality ice cream, froyo, and FoMu to very inexpensive prices. You usually only find 2 out of 3 of those things. To have all three gets them the crown. It's always a little tight because it's a small space, and they do great business. But it's worth it. Don't be upset if they run out of the flavors advertised by the end of the night. in the past 3-4 years this place has become more of a headache then it's worth. Off season hours there is usually 1 person working. Peak summer/spring season 2-3 employees. In my previous 4 visits my average wait time was almost 20 minutes each. I get it, it's the cheapest ice cream in town which is their niche but the aggravation of consistently standing in a 9x9 room with 5-10 people for 20 minutes is not worth the $2 savings per ice cream. Remarkable how the average wait time down the street at JP Licks is 5 minutes. Not to mention the last 2 times I was there they had an attitude. Kiddie - $3.50 and it goes up a dollar from there for each increasing size. If you're someone who doesn't like overly sweet things like me, I wouldn't get the mocha chip or anything with chips or chocolates in them. i absolutely looove truly's. whether it's ice cream, froyo, or soft serve, they've got a variety of flavors, and their food is delicious. i got the kiddie green monster (mint oreo) and it was fantastic. their portions are extremely generous. the kiddie is two scoops, and it was the perfect amount for my boyfriend and i to share. the prices are reasonable; kiddie was $4.50. service is excellent. we were greeted by smiles and people who were willing to help. there's three small tables for seating, but not that much space overall. i highly recommend truly's, and i definitely want to try out their ice cream cakes next time! overall rating: 10/10 read more

I went to Truly's to reward myself for helping a family member move. I usually find Yelp reviews accurate, but in this case, I am puzzled why people recommend this ice cream. The staff is very nice and patient, but my soft serve twist ice cream hardly had any flavor, neither chocolate, nor vanilla. The wall sign said FOMU, so I asked the young man serving me what that meant. He said the soft serve was dairy, but now I am wondering what it is. I had a funny aftertaste in my mouth on my way home and was wondering if I had lost my taste buds, so when I got home I tried some ice cream in my freezer to see if my taste buds were working, and I could taste the store bought ice cream perfectly. I looked at the pistachio ice cream in the freezer case of Truly's and it was a bright green, so it must have food coloring in it. I prefer Abbott's in Needham to Truly's soft serve. I have been going to Truly's for a long time and like their products. However I was absolutely thrilled when I found out they were expanding/adding Peets Coffee! It took a long time to open the new store but they finally did it and the space is nice! 2 months later.....I am super disappointed. One might think telling everyone you're going to be serving coffee that they would be open before 12PM? Why add a coffee shop and not open early? They also have great looking pastries but after getting a treat they tasted at least a few hours old. Such a shame...everyone was so excited. read more

Two of my boys went to Truly Yogurt on Tuesday with my friend. One of the boy (7 years old) bought an ice cream for 3 dollars. He paid with a 10 dollar bill and the cashier only returned him 3 dollars change incorrectly. I believe this is an accident and not intentional. If you are the new owner of Truly's and have implemented this policy, shame on you for not being inclusive to a customer base that has been frequenting Truly's well before you took ownership. Any gift card purchased before your ownership should be accepted, it's called doing the right thing and not being a stickler.
