Licks. Living in Connecticut, I was unfamiliar with J.P. Licks. I found out it's a Massachusetts ice cream chain with locations in Boston, Brookline, Cambridge, Somerville, Newton, Wellesley, Andover, Lynnfield, and Dedham. When you walk into their colorful store, you'll see the big menu board highlighting their frozen treats - Ice Cream & Hard Yogurt Flavors, Soft & Tart Yogurt Flavors, Frappes, Smoothies, Dairy Free Drinks, Toppings, Sundaes, Splits, and more. We saw ice cream cakes and pies, ice cream sandwiches, cupcakes and so much more. They even have a coffee bar with hot breakfast & snacks like oatmeal, waffles, croissant and egg sandwiches, etc. I went into their Feature Flavors menu and was delighted to find a personal favorite - Orange Chocolate Chip "Creamy orange ice cream with soft, dark chocolate chips". It was outstanding. My wife went with a dish of Coconut Almond Chip - "Ultra coconut creamy ice cream with sweet, shredded coconut, roasted salted almonds, and semisweet chocolate chips in this chewy-crunchy textural delight". I sampled it and enjoyed it more than mine! Small cups ran over $5 apiece, so be forewarned. The young crew working at J.P. Licks was friendly and fun to chat with. We took one of their tables at the front of the store and the six of us enjoyed our excellent ice cream.

They have some tables inside, which are shaped like surfboards. Even a little snack bar to purchase to go with your froyos. I didn't catch the price per weight, but my cup came out to be around $7-8 after tax which seems to be about the standard nowadays for frozen yogurt and ice cream. They have a bunch of different flavors of frozen yogurt as well as both a fresh/fruit bar as well as a dry topping bar and fudge. Free wifi too! As for parking, they have some street parking as well as a few streets around the area that non-residents can park at if the spots right outside are filled. They also offer stamp cards that they stamp when u make a purchase. Some items are grown on the farm some sourced from other farms and some just regular grocery items that you would find at any generic supermarket. The vegetables that were grown on this farm were all marked and were fabulous but they were very far and few between. they were selling some local farms goods which increased the options of locally grown. I did like the bread section some locally made in some generic.. they also have foods that are prepackaged. I like the items that were made at the farm. The others were just overpriced generic items. all in all I'd say about 40 to 50% is grown and produced, the rest are just basic generic grocery items with a higher price on them. The space is fabulous very refreshing and comfortable to walk around. the staff always seems nice, polite, and willing to answer questions.
