We've been staying at Rebekah Cottage, 539 Shore Road N. Truro, for 3 years now. Rick, the owner, is a wonderful combination of respectful and responsive. I don't usually (ever) leave reviews, but I'm surprised at the mix of 1 and 5 stars. He's very clear about times and conditions. Getting out by 10:00am is a challenge, but we learned to start packing up the night before. We will absolutely come back again next year. I rented 535 Shore Road in Truro, MA for the fourth consecutive year in July 2018. The property is in pristine condition and very comfortable for my family of five. The owner, Rick, has his office next door to the property which makes it convenient as he is a wealth of information on all things Truro and Cape Cod. He's a terrific guy who does everything in his power to make sure that you have an enjoyable vacation. In the four years we've rented from Rick, we've never had a problem receiving a 100% refund of our security deposit. I wouldn't hesitate for a second in renting from Truro Properties. read more

We have for at least the past 20 years vacationed for 1 week in the Truro area. NEVER have we had a complaint from the owner or have we not gotten all of the security deposit back. This year we stayed at 535 Shore Rd . which was a lovely rental. The problem was the owner would scurry around the backyard checking on the grill, the furniture, the way you parked your cars. We also had money taken from our security deposit for 1) the propane TANK being left diry ( not the grill, the TANK), 2) Ant infestation which by the way were there on our arrival and 3) 2 white chair pads were dirty.........so, in summary if you want to have your every move monitored while on vacation this is the place for you! Leaving the place spotless was not good enough for this owner. read more

The cottage was beautifully appointed and absolutely immaculate for a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. It's very close to P'town and some incredible beaches. Just be aware this property is situated between two roads, and traffic noise can be heard in the property. To get to the beach you have to cross the road and take a little path. Each time I have described what I'm looking for and what my price point is and each time he has found me a place that I'm really happy about. He knows his properties well. He is very pleasant to work with. We had a great experience with Truro Properties - the rental process and the property. The cottage is the cutest little spot right on the beach with great neighbors and the best setting. Becoming totally appalled in dealing with one of the owners of this agency, I sought out others reviews. Clearly it's not just me having concerns. IMO this agency is very unprofessional, snobbery at it's worst. Being told they are not desperate for renters and making their own renting rules, not caring what the owner thinks or is okay with. Asking about a rental and being told with attitude to try back next year etc. I would NEVER use this agency again. Owners should be sure to be clear on how these agents talk to potential and current renters. Truro is special, there are very special homes here, but these folks don't own Truro. Beware. It was so easy and pleasant working with Truro Properties to find the perfect rental for us in Truro. The Rebekah Cottage was delightful and our experience with the rental agency was great. Plus it was a short ride into Provincetown where we enjoyed to dining and sight seeing. We'll be back again to continue to enjoy all the Cape has to offer. read more

The cottage is clean, comfortable, and nicely appointed, and we love the proximity to the beach and Provincetown. The owner, whose office is next door, is accessible and helpful without being intrusive. We have always received our security deposit back in full without any problems. The property at 535 Shore rd in Truro is beautiful but don't let this fool you or convince you to rent from this agency. We were so highly insulted to learn that $150 was retained from our security deposit upon our departure. The reasons for keeping the money were hardly justifiable. The day of departure, we cleaned the entire house, and we were running a few minutes behind. I went into the office, where the owner was next door to the property, to let him know we would be a few minutes behind and he said that was fine but to hurry up. We vacated 20 minutes past the requested time (10am). I also told him we had a load of dishes in the washer and would be happy to unload but the cycle wasn't quite finished, he assured me that was fine. Later that day we received an email of a list of "violations", two of which were the occurrences stated above. The other listed violations were about a missing crumb tray from a toaster oven, which we never used, stains on the mattress covers which he assumed my children slept on and did not and I had gone over everything with a fine tooth comb, there were no stains when we left. He also claims there to be stains on other things that needed to be laundered. We are reasonable people and if that were the case, we would have no problem agreeing to pay to fix it. However, I asked for receipts and pictures, none of which were provided. His claim for keeping a security deposit for vacating late and dishes is beyond absurd and completely unreasonable. If you are planning to rent and have a relaxing vacation, refrain from this property and/or management agency. He walks through the yard daily, there is a huge fox problem, and after you leave, this agency will find anything and everything just to retain any little bit of money they can without reasonable justification. As a note, our family also owns a cleaning company as well as beach home property. We are very familiar with the expectations when renting a vacation home from the home owners perspective and this was just plainly insulting. Never ever again. read more

My family rented a house from Truro Properties, North Truro, MA. We specifically rented 838 Commercial Street, Provincetown, MA. We did this rental very much last minute, so we took what was available. We only rented for (5) days. We had an awesome time but it was the worst place we've ever stayed. Let me expand. First of all, the pictures online are extremely deceiving. They take pictures to make you believe you're a short walk to the ocean. The house sits on a hill, you have to walk down the stairs (not a problem) but you have to cross the road, then walk down to the ocean. This beach was unkept, dirty and full of seaweed. The only good thing about this beach was walking or flying a kite...which we did. The information online doesn't tell you the house is, basically, in the woods, down a dirt road and right next to the Owner. The Owner watches your every move and takes pictures of what you're doing so she can keep your security deposit. I just don't want other people to be taken like we were. If you want to rent from Truro Properties, just make sure you do your homework on the house you're renting. We paid $2500 for five (5) days plus a $600 security deposit which we lost. This was a total rip off. read more
