Had dinner at the Royal Thai restaurant in the Pilgrim House. Awesome!!! The Massaman curry was quite possibly the best Thai food I've ever had.

One of the few places that is open off season just three steps from Commercial St. We followed the Reindeer path. The restaurant is modern and cozy with a bar to sit on. They don't have draft beer or a drink menu but the bartender was really nice and willing to make us any drink desired. They cook Mexican food and breakfast here. Also, Friday is Bingo and Saturday is Karaoke Very pleasant experience, would come again...

My husband and I had a fantastic time seeing Madame! Go see this show!!! Afterwards, we had reservations in the restaurant at Pilgrim House. Very good. Being from the Florida gulf coast I'm picky about my seafood. Well, the Pilgrim House came through. Excellent. When visiting P Town be sure to book dinner and one of their shows.

We came to providence on a Sunday afternoon, and after a long day of walking you knew that there were many restaurants, it appeared as if though there was one restaurant on every block. The person in the front greeted us and was advertising by the menu in the front. I normally stay away such restaurants because it meant either business was slow, food was bad, simply desperate for business or all of the above. In addition, they were running a promotion where it was buy one entree and get second entree half price. That was another red flag for me. My group of 6 decided to come here for dinner and we were pleasantly surprised on the amazing food and service. The person in the front, which appeared to be the owner if the restaurant, was really nice from beginning to end. He did a lot of work, from advertising in the front to cleaning and clearing tables. I was very impressed with his attitude and energy. He realized my wife was pregnant and went next door to a candy store and got her a M&M chocolate pretzel stick. He really didn't have to, but he did and said this is for her because she was pregnant. He was so nice! Tony, our waiter was very helpful in confirming and recommending great tasting dishes. And everything that we ordered from brussel sprouts, fried eggplant fries, lobster mac and cheese, a beef short rib dish, and mixed seafood dish. The taste of each dish was so flavorful and each bite allowed my tastebuds to dance with celebration. When I come back to Provincetown, I will definitely be returning to this restaurant.

    The bathroom

Two stars for the great location and the kind, responsive worker Bruce. Minus 3 stars for cleanliness and noise. Cleanliness - the bathroom looked like something out of a 2 star motel, mildewed grout, stained bath tub. The biggest problem was the shower curtain, had mold, what looked like blood! and hairs on it. Bruce changed it for me immediately. Noise- the walls are thin and if there are neighbors you will hear everything, next to you AND above you. We were woken up with stomping above us early and late. Smoke detector- the damn thing was tweeting randomly the entire time we were there. Bruce changed the battery for us but it still chirped and woke us up regularly throughout the night. So I write this review frustrated and sleep deprived, not how you want to leave your vacation. One other thing to add- the place has zero amenities- no electric kettle, coffee maker, ice machine etc. They also charge $50 per night to park. Of note we stayed in the standard queen in off season- end of September.

The space was bright and clean. The manager, Patricia was fantastic! She made us feel very welcomed and made sure we had everything we needed to be comfortable throughout our stay. Breakfast was also very yummy. It was made to order and plentiful. During our stay breakfast consisted of pancakes, eggs, potatoes, sausage/bacon, English muffin, parfait, juice/water/tea/coffee. When I got to my room, it reminded me of an older style roadside motel motor lodge where you park and then walk to your room. But the parking lot is down a level so you have to walk up several steps to reach the rooms. The motor lodge building is one of several though. There are other buildings behind and to the side that surround a quad that has trees, gardens and chairs. My room was large and a little spare, but there was a curtain hanging off its rod so it looked a little sad. But the next morning I woke up and opened the blinds and saw how gorgeous the grounds were and suddenly looked much better (but I hope they fixed the curtain hanging off its rod.) There was complimentary breakfast in the lobby. As I walked down, I admired the landscaping, lots of flowering bushes and shrubs. The Inn is set high on a hill and so it is quite private. I also took a walk and the Inn is very close to the ocean. You can walk one way and walk into town, or go the other way and you are walking along sand dunes and the ocean. The location is excellent... close to town/restaurants/shows and the beaches. Everyone was very accommodating... they literally would 'always' ask if we needed anything or if our room needed 'freshening'... and when we asked if they had beach chairs/umbrella's/towels, they brought them out 'tout de suite'. (and pretty new equipment too!) We were lucky to have the P1 penthouse/suite on top of the Benchmark side of the hotel. It's a nice size suite, very neat and clean and afforded us a great view overlooking P-Town and the bay. I liked the bed, although my wife thought it was a little too soft. There are no elevators, but the 'climb' did help out 'step' count for the day. Breakfast was included, which was very very good. A nice variety (sausage/bacon/eggs or granola/pastries, even bread/cheese European style) to accommodate most any appetite. There is limited parking between the two buildings, enough for about 8-10 cars. Again, Gregg/Steve/Shane and co. really treated us very well. December '21 was another no-go for us as CA implemented additional curfews, no dining-in with restaurants shutting at 10pm offering take-out or delivery to stop the spread of the Omicron variant. We picked 8 for their modern style, crisp white bed linens (love a well-done hotel bed w/ white linens). But we deliberately picked 8 for their more private setting away from the famous, business-filled Commercial Street strip a block over. So incredibly happy we did! Steve offered the warmest welcome and smile when we got in on a cold Christmas evening. He gave us a detailed rundown of complimentary breakfast service every morning (fill out form night before), tea+coffee service 24/7(I think?), etc. FYI- 8 Dyer adheres to COVID hygiene guidelines, is smoke-free, has WiFi and all 8 rooms have their own private bathroom. We stayed in one of the PH suites with its own whirlpool tub in the loft, Queen-size bed, gas fireplace, dorm-size fridge, small wet bar, small balcony and flat screen TV+DVD player. There's also housekeeping if you're interested when you indicate it using your door handle sign. 8 gave hubs and I a no-hassle, comfortable, attentive and ultra quiet stay here.
