Decided on TruTailor after reviewing a couple of custom suit places on yelp. Needed a custom tuxedo for my wedding and never had a need before for a custom/bespoke suit. Didn't really know what to expect or what to do, but after meeting Aaron for the first time, I was confident I had chosen the right place. Aaron guided me step by step on all the different options and styles, answered all of my questions about everything, and patiently provided suggestions for anything I had difficulty deciding. You get to choose materials and styles to your liking for literally almost every part of the suit. I went to the first meeting in Irvine 8 weeks before the wedding and they finished the tuxedo 3 weeks before for the first fitting. There were some very slight adjustments Aaron noticed to make it even more perfect which would take another week, but by the second fitting the following weekend, the tuxedo looked spectacular and I couldnt wait to wear it at my wedding. There was a super small issue of a button coming undone, which understandably happens, but Aaron was quick to respond and made things right promptly for me. The amount of work, detail, time, energy, ETC. that they put into the suit is something else. From the moment your consultation begins to the moment you get to take YOUR suit home. I needed a suit made in less than 7 weeks and TruTailor came through in a big way. Aaron was our consultant and helped us create an amazing, unique suit from the ground up (and we learned a ton in the process). We had a very specific vision in mind and they offered everything we needed (especially the color, which is a unique grey/blue). After the suit was constructed, it fit nearly perfect for the first round of adjustments. Aaron only had to make a couple minor tweaks to get it to 100% for the final fitting a week later. The only hiccup was the construction team forgetting to include the monogram inside the suit coat. This was a bummer because it was for my wedding, but Aaron did offer to construct a patch after-the-fact. My brother and I needed to get new suits for his wedding and I've always had trouble finding a good suit that fits me because of my very broad shoulders but relatively shorter than normal arms. Our initial consultation with Josh was both professional and personal at the same time. He asks you for a price range and gives you everything you asked for within that price range and doesn't try to force the more expensive material on you. He's also very knowledgeable with past trends and current trends and makes the whole process of choosing which types of patterns very smooth. A couple weeks went by and the suits were ready. Location-wise they are very flexible and he was able to do the fitting in our home. I had told him during the consultation that I was planning to lose roughly 10-15 pounds within the next 2 months and he was able to add that into his measurements which were nearly perfect. My shoulders fit perfectly in the suit along with the length of my arms and the coat. The pants were a bit loose but that's because of my weight loss and not any fault by them. That's what the fitting is for before they perform the final alterations to perfect the suit. I was already in love with the suit before the final product and I'm excited to see what's coming up next. Overall, TruTailor Co. was great and I'll be referring them to my friends who are looking for custom suits. He spent a ton of time with me in our first appointment getting me comfortable with their process, then showing all the different fabrics and options available to me. He then took measurements and loaded them into my profile (helps with future builds). For my wedding tux, I checked a lot of different bespoke stores in the greater Los Angeles Area. Normally, I get my suits tailored in India where you find the best Italian and British fabrics with the best tailors in the world. So bringing this experience to the table it is quite hard to compete. And I have to say I was pretty impressed finding this quality and that service here in the US while working with David & David. Especially for the wedding tux, I wanted to have something special and it all begins with the fabrics. After a short consultation what I have in mind and browsing through some pictures online, David exactly knew what I wanted and guided me to the perfect fabric & style. Anyhow, when you think about your wedding you want to think twice. So we picked the fabric and the style and I was able to rethink everything and came back a couple of days later to get the measures. ... in the meantime I checked some online stores and compared other fabrics ... which just ensured me that I had picked the finest Italian fabric and the best texture and color. The second visit was likewise impressing, where we discussed all details and David took a lot of time to consult me especially in all the details, must do's and don'ts when it comes to a luxury tuxedo. David made clear what would look best and what goes with the black tie etiquette. During the production process I had changed my mind for some details. Just a quick email and the problem was solved. I really enjoyed the communication over email or text message: quick and efficient. The first fitting was a blast... I know that sometimes the first fitting could go a bit sideways but no this time. The slacks and the jacket were almost a perfect fit and the shirt just needed a small adjustment to make it a bit more athletic.
