It seems the quality of the product s and service here is not the same as it was Pre covid. I purchased some lingerie online as a gift and it came in a clear plastic bag like it was directly shipped from China. The feathers were falling off before it was even out of the bag. Calling in for phone support due to an error was worthless and going into store to find someone to help was like finding a needle in a haystack. I finally got a veteran employee to assist after the newer rep had no idea how to correct error. It took me three attempts via their customer service before I could get the trousers returned to them at their cost with a full refund of my purchase and the cost I paid to ship the bogus pants to me. Literally don't understand how this Saks Fifth Avenue is still open. Every employee here looks miserable and acts like helping customers is a personal inconvenience. The energy is so off -- no greeting, no acknowledgment, no effort. I was just buying a gift card, which should've been a 2-minute transaction. The cashier didn't say a single word the entire time -- not a "hi," not a "thank you," nothing. When the screen prompted me to pay, she just stared at me like I was supposed to magically know what to do. I hesitated because I wasn't sure if she needed to scan the gift card first, and after I tapped my card, the screen said "scan card." Still, total silence. I even had to ask, "Do I scan the gift card?" before she finally moved. It's honestly wild how low the bar is here. For a store that markets itself as luxury, this place feels like everyone's just counting the minutes until they can clock out. I'll give the whole story down below, but if it's tldr, the gist is that the customer service is thuggish, surly, and abusive. There was a complete lack of respect for my time, dignity, and my role as a busy working mom. I know I am not alone, because there are hundreds of reviews just like mine. When you make the decision to invest your money in a higher end product, it's natural to want to feel a sense of security if something goes wrong.  Why on earth would someone buy high end merchandise at a place that does not stand behind the quality or satisfaction of the product? Or the understanding that sometimes Saks makes mistakes too? Or even that 30 days is not enough time for many people to visit the store in person when they live far away and have busy lives? There are plenty of businesses that work to provide a good customer experience and consumers will vote with their wallets. If they are surprised that their business is failing miserably, perhaps they can look at the hundreds of reviews that cite terrible customer service as the reason they will take their business elsewhere.  I work full time, have two kids with extra curricular activities, and am studying for a series of rigorous professional exams. I live 1 hour away from the nearest Saks. I had a 5 hour test on Friday that I had needed all my free time to prepare for. I wasn't going to spend a half day going to Saks with this looming deadline.I came in to Saks on the very next day after my exam, with a return that was 3 days past the return window. I walked in and could not find a sales associate anywhere. Frankly, there was nobody anywhere. This store is a customer ghost town in an otherwise bustling mall. Finally I see someone in cosmetics and asked if the employee could help me with a return. He pointed his finger towards the escalator and abruptly said 'go wait in the return line'. I go wait in the return line. It's the wrong return line. They tell me to go to another department, sunglasses / jewelry, which is also depressingly empty. Finally I see a sales associate off in the distance. I explained my situation to her. She tells me I must now drive to Beverly Hills for the return, which is almost two hours away. I tell her it's really hard for me to find time to get all the way over to Saks because I live far. She childishly says, "I live far too."  I say, "but you work here, you come here daily." She said "I don't come every day." Ok lady, way to miss the point. Thanks for your understanding and compassion. Then she calls the manager and puts me on the phone with Jessica, who promptly hangs up on me when I start talking to her. Finally, she comes down, condescension in her voice already. I explained my situation. I bought these sunglasses in Beverly Hills and I realized they gave me the mens version which are very similar to the women's version I wanted. The receipt even says 'mens eyewear' and I didn't notice right away. I said I got to Saks as soon as I could. She told me that she has made exceptions to the return policy in the past, but would not do so in this instance and told me she was writing the phone number down to the corporate office on my receipt if I wanted to take it up with them. After she walks away while I am still talking to her, I look at my receipt and she wrote a generic customer service email address, not a phone number to the corporate office. Even with the Amex platinum credit to Saks, I cannot justify ever shopping here again. I even bought my wedding dress at Saks, and they decimated any positive feelings I had towards this retailer. Thankfully this wasn't a super high priced item, but when I am ready to buy my next big ticket item, you'd better believe it won't be at Suks. read more

Well customer service has gone down significantly here. How sad. I'm focusing this review on the 3rd floor evening dress department. You have to beg for someone to help you and then get poor quality. For example, when getting a dress altered that I just bought, Jessica had to call and clarify what was written on the alterations ticket. She rang in 2 separate amounts of $26 and $40. When I asked what the amounts were representing she stated I don't know, whatever the codes mean. I'm shocked she couldn't even ask someone. I don't know is not a good answer. So you are not sure what I'm being charged for or why there are 2 charges??? Then I come to pick up the dress (stated to be ready by noon today. I came at 1:00 and waited yet again for help. 30 minutes later someone went to get the dress and then came back stating it wasn't ready and wanted me to wait an additional 20-30 minutes. I had the absolute pleasure of working with Sima Malek, the Manager of Alterations at Saks Fifth Avenue, South Coast Plaza, and I can't speak highly enough of her talent and dedication. I bought a gown at Saks that was two sizes too big (last one available), fully covered in sequins, and in need of serious alteration work. What Sima accomplished felt nothing short of magic. Not only did she tailor the gown to fit me perfectly, but she managed to preserve the delicate detailing and structure of the piece with incredible precision. As an artist myself, I could truly feel the joy, pride, and craftsmanship she brings to her work. She worked so hard on every detail, and it shows. The final result was not only visually stunning but felt amazing to wear. Sima is a rare talent, and I'm beyond grateful for the experience of working with her. If anyone is in need of a truly special garment for a truly important occasion,they need not look any further than Sherene, the personal shopper and stylist at Saks Fifth Avenue in South Coast Plaza! Her understanding of fashion meeting functionality is unparalleled! She interviewed me before I arrived so that she could get a sense of dresses to present. We reviewed those as soon as I arrived, and then she took me out on the store floor where we added a few more dresses to those I would try on! She turned what was becoming a chore for me (having tried to work with two other stylists in competitive stores) into a wonderful and fun event. She has now helped me land 3 beautiful dresses for 3 different occasions including my "Mother of the Groom" dress. 12/11/2024 Do not shop here. The sales associates here are aggressive and rude. I had a hostile experience today at the men's department 2nd floor. After making a simple request for a paper bag, since I already had luxury gift bags and just needed something larger, the sales associate--an Old Woman with short hair--yelled at me aggressively. She even went as far as to pick a fight, treating me like a thief. She looked at me condescendingly and said, "NO! No bags if you don't shop here." The sales associate only care about making sales and treat customers as though they're just a source of money. I was shopping in the store at the time, and my request was completely reasonable. This type of rude, hostile behavior is unacceptable. I am going to contact management and headquarters about this experience. I won't be returning to Saks Fifth Avenue ever again. read more

The experience shipping on this day was AMAZING!! It started off a little iffy, as we were initially overlooked, but when Ellie came around to help us/me, it started to turn around. Ellie ended up be AMAZING at finding dresses that were flattering for my figure. She brought dresses I wouldn't have looked at myself that turned out to fit PHENOMENALLY! Terrible service. There is no one at any of the registers. When you finally do find someone to help you they're very rude.

I frequent this location and today was the first time I was uncomfortable. I approached Dianne in the women's department and shared that I'd like to complete an exchange with two pants I was holding. We exchanged unpleasantries to where I even asked if someone else was available to help. No one was, so we were stuck with each other. I will continue going to Saks, as I love the store and have been given great service all the times before. I wish I could give 0 star! Very disappointed! I purchased a pair of heels for my wedding. I was kinda in a rush since the wedding is next month but I still cannot find one that I like. I love the Chanel and Dior counter because they're super friendly and helpful but the other associates here are fairly aggressive in their approach. I've been here on many occasions shopping with or for my fiancé and I always get followed around lol I just want to shop in peace sometimes. I have never used social media to complain, but my recent experience at Saks Fifth Avenue in Costa Mesa, CA, was astonishing. I purchased expensive shoes from Saks.com for my wife. Soon after, she was diagnosed with a thyroid tumor, and the shoes sat unused. When she finally wore them, the heel broke. Despite the shoes being barely used, customer service directed me to a store for a return, but the nearest one was 100 miles away. After driving from San Diego to Orange County, the returns department wouldn't help since the purchase was online. The store manager and customer service both cited a strict 30-day return policy, which was never mentioned earlier. Knowing my story, they were unwilling to assist, leaving me frustrated after wasting a day and driving 200+ miles. Here is where I put my CEO hat on. My company has been in the ultra competitive space of janitorial services for over 55 years. I understand the importance of customer satisfaction. A dissatisfied customer can tell 20 people or more about a negative experience, and it's crucial to handle such situations with empathy and problem-solving. I don't like to post reviews but this got me upset. I purchased the pants last week and I couldn't see the stains inside the store. I never used them. If I had a chance to, I would put zero. My sister had ordered nice top-bottom set along with nice shoes online. Unfortunately they didnt fit me. I went to the store to exchange it, they simply told me that "it is a store policy, anything ordered online, must be returned to original payment method.
