    The pub smash burger
    Raine P.

Happy Hour is available all day on Mondays! The fish tacos were delicious, and I appreciated that they had a generous amount of fish--not like some places where you barely get any. The Pub Smash Burger was also very good and flavorful. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, making it a great spot regardless of the weather. The servers were friendly, attentive, and provided excellent service!

Been here a few times and the food is decent. Specials are good but used to be better. Burger was good, fries ok. My girl got the fish tacos, also good. Smoked fish dip only ok. Overall though, can't complain.

The food was surprisingly very good. Pork chop was prepared as requested. And it was huge. Are 1/3 and took remainder home. Mashed potatoes side and string beans were served with pork chop and were tasty and cooked just right. The vibe was off. The music was blah. Could hardly hear it. It was early, maybe 5ish. So perhaps that is not a good time to judge as they had just opened. One waiter -built guy - was at a table closest to open kitchen - shoving food into his mouth while standing up at the table. For real. It was comical. Server seemed unaware of how many items were prepared. Didn't know the beers in bottles vs cans. She was sweet and can learn fast. Would I return? Yes for takeout. Not a sit down.

JOHNNY,MGR AND ROB made our experience at our new favorite hangout like a surprise party. The bar was packed with a crowd that was drinking and eating delicious snacks and happy hour specials. The game was on and everyone was having a great time. Every day is $1 and $2 OYSTER SPECIALS. SIRACHI baked wings were tasty with a zing. We had so much fun at a party we weren't even invited to. Ummmm listen, the vibes of this restaurant were good. The bartenders were doing their thing and the drinks were great! Recommend their lychee martini. HOWEVER! I wasn't a big fan of the food. I ordered the lobster ravioli as it was one of their specials of the day. The pasta was very undercook and raw. I'm sure it would've been delicious if I could've tasted anything else but the raw flour. Maybe this was an off night?

Went with a friend who tried it when they first opened and loved it so naturally wanted to introduce me to it... She ended up spitting out her food Everything was just simply not good We were looking forward to the apple cider donut sliders and when we asked why they were different than last time (bc she tried & loved on her first visit) and why they came out so... bad... our server said she noticed they didn't look right but "it's the same pillsbury dough as normal it was just fried longer than usual which was why it was hard"...PILLSBURY???? Our server was great, it was just the food that just wasn't it *smash burger not pictured, which was okay but if I was craving a burger this certainly wouldn't be my first choice

Hung out here with a group of friends and none of us have visited here before. Most of the inside was a bar but you were able to see through to the other side of the bar that was on the patio. Had a couple Tito's and soda water with my $1 oysters and fish dip. It was a very home style inviting feel to the decor. Will return for the fish dip and eat more $1 oysters next month.

This was my first visit to Tryst, and overall I'd say the experience was good, with a lot of promise. The biggest letdown was the menu situation. The smaller menu already felt limited, and on top of that, several items weren't available. That part was disappointing, not because things were missing, but because no one mentioned it upfront. If we had known right away, it honestly wouldn't have bothered me. Food-wise, it was a mixed bag. I ordered the shaved ribeye focaccia, but it came out on French bread instead. Not the end of the world, but it wasn't what was described, and that matters when you're ordering. That said, the vibe absolutely works. The decor is beautiful and gives off strong 1920s Art Deco energy. It feels stylish, intimate, and well thought out. You can tell they're aiming for something special here. And the drinks? Easily the highlight. 10/10. The bartender Maria seriously throws down. Cocktails were balanced, creative, and clearly made by someone who knows what they're doing. Bottom line: Tryst is a promising spot. With a little more transparency from staff and better menu consistency, this could be a standout. I'd definitely come back, especially for the drinks and atmosphere.

Fun late night spot in Mizner Park. Enjoyed a prickly pear mojito which wasn't sweet which I appreciate. Vibrant scene, loud live band playing in the breezeway. Tried the donut cheeseburger sliders which was a hybrid dessert burger- quite unique! Happy hour selections seem good - will have to try it out.

Tryst in Boca Raton's Mizner Park has quickly become my new favorite spot, and not just because my friend opened it. The food is amazing. I had a sandwich that honestly changed my life, and I even ordered a second one. Our server Elizabeth was fantastic, friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. The outdoor seating is perfect for having a cocktail, catching up with friends, and enjoying the atmosphere at Mizner Park. The happy hour is another big plus, super affordable with lots of great options for everyone, even if you have dietary restrictions. You have to check it out. You can thank me later!

Maybe it's quieter outside but those tables are right next to the street. We had to yell to hear each other. Our server Sebastian was so pushy and constantly upselling us. As soon as we sat down, he asked whether we wanted still or sparkling water, but that question should always have 3 options: still, sparkling, or tap? He then recommended the signature omakase, the most expensive thing on the menu. When he came back to take our order, he made a big pitch of today's rib special. When my husband ordered the 8-piece nigiri, he pushed us to upgrade to the 12-piece option. As we were eating, he asked us what else we wanted to order. We ordered $130 of food for 2 people...seriously? We hadn't even finished yet to gauge if we were still hungry. I know that tips are a percentage of the bill, but you would've thought this kid was getting a commission on top of his tip or something. It rubbed us the wrong way. The tuna crispy rice was $5 per piece and the rice was weirdly chewy. Wouldn't order it again. The nigiri were the highlight of the meal. Each piece felt balanced and the sushi rice was good. We ordered 3 rolls: toro toro, scallop, and yellowtail. All were forgettable and expensive for what they were. The yellowtail roll was bland, which is probably why there's a chili ponzu sauce to go with it because otherwise all you can taste is pear, which isn't a flavor I'm looking for in sushi. We ended our meal with scallop tacos, which were good but microscopic and pricey ($17 for 2 tacos). Each one is a bite and a half. It took a while to flag down Sebastian for the bill, so we were stuck in the din of the restaurant for longer than we liked. If the restaurant's filling up, wouldn't you want to turn our table and seat new guests? My husband made a note on the res that it was my birthday, but it was ignored. Maybe we would've had a better experience with a different waiter, but this was a disappointing meal and service.

In a word: Inconsistent…read more Both the food and the service had their highs and lows when a grjoup of us recently visited for dinner. One example: we sat outside and were promptly provided with pitchers of cold water without ice. The water quickly became warm and when we asked for ice, the server gave us a few glasses of ice with some spoons. Eventually the server realized this wasn't very effective, so she finally gave us a bucket filled with ice. Kapow is a great place to try a variety of items and share the tapas and sushi. With that in mind, we ordered several items from the small plates menu: charred edamame, ribs, General Tso's cauliflower, brussels sprouts and bang bang shrimp. These items were generally tasty. The spice level varied and was not always as spicy as we expected. For example, the cauliflower did not have much heat despite the description. The shrimp packed a punch though. From the large sushi menu, we had a shrimp tempura roll, which was a nice size and delicious. We also had a few drinks, including a refreshing blueberry lavender mojito, from the extensive cocktail/wine/sake drink menu. Drink options are a high point. One of the lows was my wagyu burger. It was not tender despite supposedly being made with quality beef and cooked to medium temperature. The house pickles were missing from the plate altogether and the house-made kettle chips were actually bland fries that did not appear to be house-made. They came with a spicy ketchup, which I found to be unnecessarily overly spicy. My wife had the Chinatown Caesar salad with grilled chicken. It was an enjoyable twist on Caesar salad with the inclusion of pear slices, wonton noodles and a flavorful Asian Caesar dressing. A high point! Our group ordered a couple of Peking Duck dinners, which is a Kapow specialty and is meant to be shared. The crispy duck comes with cucumbers, scallions, hoisin sauce and vegetable fried rice as well as thin "pancakes" in which to wrap all the ingredients. The fried rice wasn't particularly flavorful but combined with the duck, cucumbers and sauce, the overall combination of items was delicious. Unfortunately, the server misunderstood our order and delivered only one Peking duck dinner rather than the two which we had requested. We had to wait 20 minutes for the second dinner to be prepared. Definitely a low point. As compensation for the miscue, the manager gave us a $25 gift card, which was a nice gesture even though it didn't come close to covering the $85 price of the dish. Would I return to Kapow? Possibly, especially with a group that is interested in sharing several small plates and sushi items. We'd also ask the server to repeat the order back to us to ensure everything is correct!
