This was our first time going to tryst. We ordered the vegan nachos which were great! My Mom ordered the Hawaiian pork sandwich which she loved. Our daughter ordered the taco plate which she loved. But then we received our vegan burrito and what a joke. It was the most expense of the 4 entrees ordered and it was teeny tiny with little flavor. I wish we would have taken a picture of it, the nachos were 3 or 4 times bigger and less expensive. We love going to locally owned places and supporting businesses but they really need to re-evaluate their burrito vegan wrap because it was so very disappointing. Service was great, atmosphere was nice but it just shows how one thing can really wreck the mood. The last thing we wanted to do was complain when we were there with family to enjoy our time and the first time 4 generations of family were together. May go back but will stay away from the burrito!!! read more

After two failed attempts at trying to love this so called "Hip, Organic Cafe" I'm going to have to give it a generous 3 Stars. So sad. I really wanted to like it but it's lacking in several key "hip and awe inspiring" factors. A. To be "Hip" means to be considered aware of or attuned to what is expected, especially with a casual or knowing air; cool. - Webster NOBODY in this place was in tuned to ANYTHING that we needed nor gave a shit about what was expected. Waitress/bartender/hostess was very clearly perturbed by me changing my mind about sitting on the stuffy patio and made a snotty comment as she walked back inside. She didn't get any more pleasant when she graced us w her presence 15 minutes later. We had to get up & find someone for water and again for our check. So not Hip... The food was pretty good, I'll give them that. Expensive but good. Nothing to write home about but we weren't disappointed. I got the Ahi Tuna Salad with Aioli. The tuna was seared perfectly and the dressing was good. The Aioli was good but there was barely any drizzled on the top of the tuna. Not very big portions for the price. My sister got a Brie Tuna Melt which she said was pretty good. The dining area is very cramped as is the patio, too many tables shoved in a small, unimpressive area. The canvas curtains on the patio were closed shut to the beautiful morning outside and the space heaters were on full blast. People were stuffed in like sardines. Not impressed. Monday night in @ 5:30, quiet, sat outside area with heat lamps, very accommodating, our waitress was Rachael and she knew her stuff. Very hospitable and was able to answer all questions thoroughly. The food was superb including appetizers and main entree's. We chose cauliflower taco's, fish taco's and tamale's, wine pours were very generous and a happy hour till 6:00 allows for price reductions for appetizers, wine and beer. The service was prompt, laid back (chill) and timing was perfect. This could be our "go to" for future occasions including breakfast and lunch as well. I think these waitresses/waiters may have been overwhelmed when we got there. While our server was kind..she never checked in on us, my order was incorrect (no sauce, which I hear makes the entire meal), no re-fills, I mean.. nothing. I'm a service girl, I'm in the industry as well... absolutely ridiculous. I waited for so long and no one could come by. By the time she came back, she was in no way sorry and nothing was really solved. I packed up my food and gave it to my friend. Lol we had to remind her to bring out that sauce. My friends were happy with their meal, but all pretty disappointed in the service. One of my girls wanted to order a drink, but by the time I server bothered to ask we were done with our meals. Finally made it to Tryst, I have been meaning to try this place for at least 8-10 months. We came here for a late breakfast before a doctor's appointment. Hubby had diet coke and I had decaf coffee. Hubby ordered the breakfast burrito and I ended up going for our server's recommendation (Raechel) for Eggs Benedict, mostly because she mentioned the sauce had green hatch chile (I think she said hatch, but it is the green New Mexico chile). Hubby liked his burrito very much, I tough the Eggs Benedict were OK, but I don't think I would have them again.. I could see the green chile in the creamy sauce, but I could not taste it : ( Sweet potato tots were super sweet (duh! hehe) and seemed a little too greasy... but were still good. I was pleased with the glass cup for the coffee, it looked very fancy and nice. Service was nice and friendly, and some other girl offered to refill our drinks even after we paid (that is a huge plus in my book) and she even got us a to go cup for the coke. I would like to come back but probably not very soon. So we came here on a whim after staying at a friends and were really happy with the experience. Parking was a bit tight to park right nearby and there is a Starbucks near be main entrance with a drive through line that backs up - sometimes blocking the entrance. The inside is a bit small but has a nice feel and setting. There is a pretty nice patio outside, which is covered and has heaters and good seating. We sat inside for our visit. I started with an iced coffee which was pretty good with a good taste and was just strong enough. It comes with a little container of fresh cream to add. I got a breakfast quesadilla which was excellent and my girlfriend got the breakfast sandwich. Both were great with excellent taste and presentation. I bet there many other gems on the menu too! Overall this place was great. Glad we found it and made the last minute stop to grab some food. We would definitely come back again and enjoy another selection off the menu! read more

Was invited to a breakfast birthday bash with 15 of my friends. The place was smaller than I thought because they accepted our reservation for 16. We were lined up against the window wall and pretty tight squeeze sitting inside. The service was pretty good for 2 waiters vs. 16 of us and their other tables. We did have to ask for refills. I ordered the meat lover omelet (Three eggs, pecan smoked bacon, sausage, ham and white cheddar), roasted potatoes, & sourdough toast. I think they found to add the white cheddar cheese to my omelet or it was a super small amount. Basically a fluffy eggs folded in the meats with no cheese. It was ok. The potatoes were good! This would literally deserve a zero star if it was possible. I placed a pickup order with this place and drove 15 minutes to get the food. Upon walking in the door the hostess greeted me and let me know their credit card machines were down and they could only take cash. This clearly would have been great info to share with someone BEFORE they place their pick up order. She was trying to figure out what to do and another worker comes over (I'm assuming her boss, not sure), and let me know that I can either go to the ATM across the street, or leave my card info with them. She asks me if I bank there, to which I tell her no. So she clearly knows I would have to pay an ATM fee. While standing there, I could hear the hostess say "Shouldn't we just comp this?" To which the other lady disagrees and tells me again to use the ATM. How excellent customer service is it as a business to make a customer go spend extra money on an ATM fee when the situation is zero fault of their own and completely yours. Also, not even telling them the situation ahead of time. VERY POOR! I can guarantee other restaurants would not handle the situation the same. It would have. Even compete or at minimum discounted to make up for the ATM fee. Oh, and leave my credit card info with you?!?!? Yeah okay that's a good solution As for the food. It was cold. They gave me a wrap when I asked for the sandwich and the wrap was 95% wrap and 5% chicken. This place was disappointing all around. Except the hostess, she was the only thing that kept me from losing my cool while there. She did what she could and was very nice. I've only ordered to-go from this place. The food is full of flavor, my compliments to the chef!! There are a lot of different options from bison burgers to salads or kabobs. They are also vegan/vegetarian and gluten free friendly which is nice. There's seating inside as well as outside on the patio. The set up is cute and cozy. Feels like it's family owned and operated. My only complaint as to why I am only leaving 3 stars is because of the service. I would say it took 15-20 mins to pay for my bill from the time I stepped through the door. It shouldn't take that long, especially when I called in advance and got an estimated time of when my food will be ready and I'm the only customer waiting. It has been like this every time I come. Also, one of the employees had a snippy attitude to my friend which was a turn off. I really like the food, but not eager to come back because of the wait time and customer service. read more
