The food is decent, the prices are fairly high but the service has become atrociously slow at this favorite historic landmark of a diner and restaurant ! Expect to wait at least 15-20 minutes for a single club sandwich.

It bears mentioning first that the place is unassuming and if you enter through one side you're in a gas station, but through the other you're met with a large patio/ atrium shared by other businesses. The patio is beautiful and relaxing with a calm fountain and long-tended plants. The food is good and consistent - typical American. People don't seem to mind kids and dogs being around - especially on the patio. The atmosphere is very casual, as it's often families or golfers fresh off the course. The service is hit or miss, but depends on who you get and how stressed they are because they do get extremely busy. Bonus if you go at the holiday season because the ambiance is 110% Christmas. You mostly see the decor when you go in to the Western and old-timey restaurant space inside which seems like it hasn't changed since the day they opened their doors in 1977. There're also a post office, gift shop, and convenience store all connected, and a decent amount of parking around the complex. PS: My pics are a couple years old at this point.

Great classic neighborhood spot! Despite being a little dark, it is very clean. You can tell that a lot of neighbors are regulars there, and that says a lot. The portions are large and the prices are extremely reasonable!! If you're looking for a "not fancy" casual place to drop by and eat, I totally recommend it. It does get busy so sometimes you might have to wait a few minutes.

The ambiance of the place is charming- it reminds me of a interesting little thrift shop. Lots of odds & ends making for an eclectic atmosphere. The staff was helpful and prompt. The food was good- but, breakfast food isn't reinventing the wheel....here they lacking any punch in flavor or presentation. The meal was not very hot either. I think it has lots of potential- perhaps we just were there on an off day. I'm loving the area outside with all the nice views, I imagine when they have shops for a market there it's really lovely.

Restaurant locked inside the general store; rustic look and homey. Food; Got the Hot Cake Special, and it was delicious! The eggs cooked to order, and bacon nice and crisp. Service; Very friendly, and coffee always refilled. Can't wait to go back!

Not only are their drinks consistently excellent, but they handle busy nights with an impressive level of calm and efficiency. Even when the bar is packed, they remember orders, keep a positive attitude, and make sure guests feel taken care of. That kind of service is rare. What really sets them apart is their personality and work ethic. They create an atmosphere that keeps people coming back. You can tell they care about both the customers and the success of the business. Every time I visit, I see them going above and beyond, helping coworkers, keeping things organized, and maintaining a great vibe for everyone around them. The bartenders are amazing however we are sad our normal peeps have left. Tonight Sean KILLED it with us and so glad he was still there since first meeting him on Halloween. Honestly the reason for 4 stars is the fact the drunken wifey is gone and the 3% credit card fee. We have been coming here for a little over 5 years and never had to pay that. Wild change and slightly bs. You already charge a lot for food and drinks (increases over the years are noticeable with management changes) but when you always have a rather large bill usually $700-sometimes over $1000 depending on the kind of evening we're having it is going to be very noticeable. A change like that needs to be more obvious, minus a little print at the bottom of the menu. No one even noticed (since we really didn't need the menu to order) nor did our server. It truly makes me want to give you a three star but I can't discredit the hard working staff and people in the kitchen, as it is clearly the change of new management and the "rebuild" from the beginning of the year. It speaks volumes to a group that has been dedicated to the Americano since March of 2020 and now makes us wonder if it's time to move onto a different restaurant.

Every single person who came to our table was outstanding. The young man who brought our drinks had the biggest, sweetest smile--it was impossible not to notice. Our server, Dan, was everything you could hope for: attentive, professional, and genuinely invested in making our experience memorable. His recommendations were spot-on, and he even surprised me by bringing a chilled martini glass so I could refresh my drink. I've never had a server do that before, and it was such a thoughtful touch. The combination of the fresh tuna and ginger slaw was absolutely incredible--an explosion of flavors that delighted every bite. It was, without question, exceptional. My only disappointment is that I'm moving away and won't have the opportunity to become a regular. Bravo to Dan and the entire team at White Chocolate Grill. The hostess greeted us right away, we were seated on the patio - gorgeous view. Our server was wonderful - attentive, courteous, provided suggestions without upselling. We ordered italicus spritz & margarita - light and pleasant summery drinks. For a meal, we shared deviled eggs, sonoran chicken lettuce wraps, sliders with fries and Thompson bolognese. Everything came out pretty fast - it was fresh and delicious, generous portions too. Of course we had to try dessert - we had spiced carrot cake with espresso. Cake was very good and espresso was great & strong! We'll definitely go back to try other items on the menu.

I made a reservation at this long-ago bookmarked restaurant to celebrate our twins 21st birthdays…read more I am so pleased they are finally old enough we can dine at restaurants I want to try (instead of only those serving kid food). Our Open Table reservation was for inside seating, but the restaurant was packed and we were seated on the misted patio at a high top for four. A spinning device was placed on our table lamp to deter flying pests. It was warm on the patio but fully shaded, with an occasional drifting cool breeze from the open doors of the dining room. The view of the McDowell Mountains is gorgeous from the patio. Our server was a quiet young man who was training another new server. Drink orders were placed, waters delivered all around. Appetizers ordered and meal orders placed at the same time were timed appropriately for our entree to arrive after a pause. We ordered from the happy hour menu a Dos XX draft lager and a house red sangria to go with the spinach artichoke dip and tortilla chips. The sangria was lovely, a tart red on top then sweeter, with brandy perhaps ,when mixed from the bottom. Several slices of citrus filled the glass. Beer was cold and a full pint. For $16 the spinach artichoke dip is a pricey appetizer at happy hour. It comes in a little cast iron skillet with oil all around the edge of the bubbling cheesy dip. Is truly thought they had overheated it, but the center was still creamy, the cheese unbroken. The tortilla chips were so light and crispy I had to inquire with the server if they were truly all corn or a blend. All corn! This was the most flavorful and delicious version of this dip I have experienced in any restaurant, and I do order it frequently. My only complaint was the spinach is too stringy and should be lightly chopped before adding to the dip. For my entree, I ordered the happy hour chicken lettuce wraps $10. They were pre-assembled portions of spicy dark chicken with corn and hot sauce. The lettuce cups were small but held up to the fillings. The chicken was one dimentional in flavor, just hot sauce and nothing else. I won't order this again, what a shame and a missed opportunity for a spectacular dish. One son had the 105 burger , a house double smash burger with waffle fries. He enjoyed the burger a lot, planning to save half then eating it all anyway. The garlic aoli was his favorite thing. He pronounced the waffle fries too crunchy. Almost like kettle chips, they lacked the tender insides he prefers in a waffle cut potato. Husband agreed. He had the same fries with his absolutely amazing French dip sandwich with prime rib. Especially awesome was the horseradish sauce and the dip which clearly had meat broth not just bouillon. Nice job! I got to eat about a quarter of it when he couldn't finish and yummers! I should add, our server made husband's beer $3 because they have a $19 burger and beer special (and son had a burger with no beer). This was very kind and honest! Other son ordered the short rib rustica pasta. This was a very filling dish. He enjoyed the meat sauce, it was very rich and tender. The house made rigatoni was broken, flattened and cooked too soft for his liking. Nonetheless it was all gone in a flash. When I suggested dessert, neither boy was really interested but I insisted because of the celebratory nature of our meal together. The wait staff brought our two desserts with four spoons and two candles in honor of the boys birthdays. The neighboring tables joined us in singing to our kids when the servers left. It was sweet. And so we're the desserts! A brownie sundae with dulce de leche ice cream vanished quickly. The boys were amused by the potato chip garnish. The seasonal ricotta cheesecake was also a dulce de leche flavor and it was fabulous. Dense, rich and smooth, I ate more than my share of this decadent wedge of heaven. Accompanying strawberries and blueberries were appreciated as a nod to healthier choices. The birthday desserts were both comped, very generous and thank you to the manager! When the bill arrived, we tried to pay using the QR code but the receipt is only for joining their e club. Server brought a kiosk and we paid on the spot. All very efficient.

Entered the premises and were greeted by a very gregarious staff that made our stay here extra pleasant. The place is huge, with a large outside covered area. Booths are on the inside. The menu is gigantic with every conceivable breakfast selection. Having grown up in the NY Metro area, I went straight to the bagel cream cheese and lox which came open faced with the works and in a must appetizing presentation. Must be said that the Bialys in their name is from the historic recipe that the Ashkenazi people works cook their bagels in the city of Byalistock, Poland, before the Holocaust. The bagel isn't boiled and therefore has a much chewy consistency and is also delicious. One of the best breakfasts ever.

We're visiting from Tucson so we don't get to this area that much.First of all, Tiffany delivered awesome service! She was extremely welcoming and accommodating, got our coffees and menus quickly, checked on us periodically, gave great menu guidance, and had a really friendly personality. She should be a bartender if she hasn't been one before. She's easy to talk to and made the dining experience that much better. I had the open faced lox on sesame bagel and it was excellent - and QUARTERED! They're not messing around with open faced here, not two halves but four easy to maneuver quarters! The lox itself was perfect - not too salty, no black spots, fresh and smooth. Freshly sliced cucumber, red onion, capers, and the bagel itself was excellent! Usually it's all about the top and the toppings but the bottom was better than most bagels I've had outside New York. Nice and crispy bottom but the inside was soft and JUST a little chewy (as I believe it should be). I liked the breakfast potatoes, they were nicely seasoned and crispy but again soft on the inside. The potato salad was pretty good too - nice consistency and good flavor, maybe could be a little more heavily seasoned but that's really nit picky because it's hard enough to get the texture right. Coffee was very good, even the decaf. But the to-go cups? I'm in love with the lid. It fit securely but the little flap is the best flap I've ever seen on a coffee cup, easy to open and close, and when opened, clicks nicely into the top of the lid - no hanging over interrupting the flow of coffee like some lesser lids.We got the cream cheese to go because it was very good! Also got whitefish salad to go and we just had it for breakfast the next day and it was EXCELLENT! I'm very particular about whitefish salad - which is not easy to come by in AZ, let alone Tucson (yes we have a bagel place that offers it but it's not nearly as good as NYB&B's version), so knowing we can pick it up fresh in Scottsdale is really comforting. Not too fishy, finely diced (I am not a fan of large chunky style whitefish salad), easily spread, just great! AND to top off the to-go portion, rugelach to go!!! They were really good as well (I got apricot, raspberry and chocolate). Even the location is great. It was an easy 5 minute drive from our hotel, I'm not sure of the name of the plaza (Greyhawk?) but parking was easy and it was a nice little strip, across from Starbucks and other businesses. Looking forward to the next visit!

There's plenty of flowers, birds, and outdoor tables to sit and enjoy the nice weather. I still haven't had a chance to try any of the cocktails, but the drink menu looks fantastic. I've had the Troubadour Egg Sandwich several times (it's so good that it's hard to order anything else) along with the side Cucumbers and Feta "snack." Other important baby/toddler facts: there's a nice changing table setup in the bathroom, high-chair availability, as well as an extensive secret kids menu (we chose the "burrito" which ended up being egg, cheese and potato in what looked like a whole wheat wrap with a ton of strawberries and sliced potatoes on the side).
