Born and raised in OC, I would say I'm super picky about boba when it comes to consistency, texture, and size. I've passed by this place often when driving, so decided to give it a taste. I think that if a milk tea can be perfect then the rest of the drinks would be on par. I had decided to get the signature milk tea with boba to see if it would be good enough. There was a nice, Vietnamese lady that took our order. She was quick to charge us and then bring it out. The store itself smelled of incense; reminds me of my parents' house. We got our milk tea and left. Upon trying it, it reminded me of a simple milk tea from Its Boba Time or from Banh Mi Che Cali. The boba itself is extra chewy and the size of each one is inconsistent. Although it's okay, I can't possibly rate it as a five star. I'd say it passed the milk tea test, and I need to come back to see how the other drinks are. read more

First time visitors, very small shop and very quaint. They have a very extensive menu of slushes, smoothies, coffees and teas so I suggest you study up before arriving. They also have bubble waffles and shaved ice desserts. My husband and kids all got blended drinks with boba while I got a mango passion shave ice which was yummy and refreshing; just the ice was too hard and crunchy. I prefer Taiwanese soft shaved snow. There are also board games piled on a table in the corner so our kiddos played a couple games while we sat inside and enjoyed our treats. First of all, we are a regular customers of this cute milk tea place because of their super friendly staff esp the owners specifically Yvonne ( the lady owner ) who always make us feel at home and welcomed. The best tiger milk tea, Thai tea, taro milk tea, cookies and cream slushy, oolong tea, kumquat milk tea, coconut slushy, etc etc etc that we've ever tried. The place is always clean and cozy. There are different board games on the table that you can choose to play while waiting and enjoy sharing it with friends or family. Boba is good. Normally don't buy boba but this is one of the places we go the most. It's small, no tables, with benches, and TV's. Menu is easy to read with pictures of toppings. Long overdue review -- we went to Tra Boba Tea a few months ago and will never get drinks here again. Giving 2 stars because the manager was friendly and refunded us. I did find it awkward that he wanted to speak with me on the phone -- like why couldn't he just refund me and I can provide the feedback to his employees? The service was quick but I hate to say that all 3 drinks that we ordered were awful (taro slush, honeydew, and one of their specialty drinks). It tasted like watered down spoiled milk mixed with spoiled fruit. They kindly re-made the taro to see if the change would make a difference before attempting to fix the other drinks, but it just tasted like they added more sugar to hide the foul taste. I got their matcha latte with foam and it was amazing! Matcha is difficult to master; it can easily be distasteful but this place does it right. I was speaking to one of the employees and he was also really knowledgeable about boba. Boba is a science and not many people see that! It takes a lot of work to create a great drink. We also tried their egg waffle and it was delicious (we didn't try it with the frozen yogurt though but it was still good) The sauces weren't too overwhelmingly sweet and the waffle itself was soft and tasty. This place and the owners are exceptional! They truly love bringing joy to people and they do it so well through their drinks, food and service. We went on Friday night and got the all you can eat hot pots. Great quality ingredients and super fresh flavors. We also got a Vietnamese iced coffee, Thai tea, and a peach tea (25% sweetened) and they were each outstanding. So I ordered a Thai Tea with egg pudding and the Thai tea was a brown color I expected it do be a like a bright orange or regular orange color like how Thai tea is normally .
