It was my first time at this salon after my boyfriend recommended it. He comes here every 8 weeks or so to get a haircut and occasionally a perm from Wendy. I have not had a haircut in almost 2 years and have been putting it off because I couldn't find a salon I really liked with reasonable prices, and I just couldn't decide on a style I liked. I finally decided to bite the bullet and go with him when he was getting his haircut. I definitely don't regret it! Wendy was able to take the photo I showed her and recreate it easily. She is meticulous and detailed and clearly very experienced. She is also very gentle and I didn't feel any pain or discomfort when she was working on me. When we were done, she offered to style my hair and teach me how to use the flat iron to create body and movement. My boyfriend and I were both done in in about 1.5 hours including some wait time which I thought was very reasonable. The salon is very busy and bustling so I would recommend calling to make an appointment. Women's haircuts start at $50 and men's at $30. Will be back soon! read more

Dishonest Pricing - Will Not Return I'm very disappointed with the lack of honesty at this salon. I called in advance to ask for the price of a children's haircut. The woman on the phone clearly told me that children under 10 years old would be $25. I even asked whether a hair wash was included, and she said that most kids aren't tall enough for the sink, so they just spray water instead. Based on that, I made an appointment for two girls, both under 10. I expected to pay $50 total. But when I went to pay, the staff told me one haircut was $25 and the other was $35. When I questioned it, she claimed she had mentioned that boys and girls have different prices -- something that was never discussed during our call. Both of my children are girls, so that reasoning made no sense. I had no choice but to pay $60, and I feel taken advantage of. To make things worse, their printed pricing menu (next to the cashier) clearly said "Children under 10 - $25", with no mention of gender-based pricing. I won't be returning, and I don't recommend this place to others. Even if you ask ahead about pricing, they may change it at the register. Very disappointing experience. read more

I have walked past TS Designs many times while shopping at Lakeshore Plaza and often saw many great cuts and color work coming out. Finally, I walked in to make an appointment. I really enjoyed my experience at TS Hair! The response time on yelp was quick and I was able to book an appointment with Bernice for an overdue haircut + balayage within a day. I had inspo pics coming in and Bernice was very knowledgeable, gave suggestions and expectations considering the appt was at 3pm and they close at 6pm (Sunday). I appreciated her transparency and tips! She informed me of each step down to the cut length, layering, toning color of the balayage, and when to touch up etc. She is super friendly and easy to talk to so it made the appointment go by way quicker. My hair doesn't lift easily but she managed to bleach it and reapply it to reach my desired color without damaging it. She also stayed until after closing to help me style it! I am so happy I found this salon and Tony for my Brazilian blowout! We moved in December and needed to find a new hairdresser, as our previous one did mine and my husband's hair. Toni was so nice and so accommodating. I was freezing because in my haste to get to my appt I failed to bring a jacket. He gave me hand warmers and a cover because I was still cold. After I got home and washed my hair I noticed that my hair was not even and my hair was so choppy and one side was longer than the other. I called to go back and get it fixed, which they gladly did, but I feel like I shouldn't have had to go back in the first place. Take 2: I walked into this salon today with a bad brassy hair color from another salon. Tony is a miracle worker! He toned it down and recorrected the highlights and gave it more depth. His assistant Jimmy gave the best cleanest washout too - one of my pet peeves is when a salon doesn't wash off all the dye but Jimmy was very thorough. Afterwards Tony suggested a Brazilian blowout which smoothed and softened my hair! 5 hours later, but so worth it! Came in with an open mind. I originally had light blue hair with lots of roots grown. I needed a fix asap as I was tired of having mismatch, grown out hair. I sent a message via Yelp and they got back to me pretty quick. I worked with Bernice who was kind and knowledgeable with my hair. She didn't try to force anything on me, instead she told me about my hairs health and I had to make the decision myself. Originally I wanted to go back to blonde and have babylights but she said my hair wouldn't have been able to take it and everything would have broken off so I went to black and got the oil treatment.
