It was good, not great. The brisket sandwich was okay. The meat was cut too thick and had some tough spots. The meat itself wasn't very flavorful. Good brisket needs no sauce. This needed sauce. The ribs were good, tender but still on the bone. The potato salad and the coleslaw slaw were both very good, great flavor, but the potatoes were a little under cooked. Was looking at the hot air balloons doing their glow in downtown Durango. Stumbled across this restaurant and he wanted to get a drink so we headed in. He'd also not had a lot to eat so we looked at the menu and decided to share a po'boy. However, when we got up to the order counter (we were third in line), we were told that the kitchen wasn't making food for 15 minutes. So we ordered our drinks and then started to place a good order. They weren't even taking food orders. You had to come back in 15 minutes to do that. This I thought was ridiculous as we had waited in line and the line behind us was now all the way to the door. I wasn't going to stand in line again. The server wasn't that friendly either. Well we took our drinks and went out to sit at the stools on the small verandah. Restroom was clean and neat. Really awesome food in the downtown Durango area! The alligator po'boy is so good! The only downfall is the absurd prices for what you get.

Since we were in Durango for a couple days and at a hotel practically next door, we stopped in for a late lunch. When we realized they feature Cajun food, we had to create a sampler of amazing Cajun dishes: pulled pork sandwich, bowl of Gumbo, shrimp bisque, and red beans & rice. It was so delicious! Wow!! Sadly, we were only in town a short time, but if you are near downtown Durango we definitely recommend T's! We hope to be back soon. read more

All sorts of terrible! First, we walked in during their advertised Happy Hour to find that not a single other person was there. Then, the girl at the register was extremely off putting. When I asked her about the specials and other questions about the menu she was completely unhelpful. She spoke so low that I couldn't even tell she was responding under the loud music! We the placed an order for the pulled pork nachos and small rib plate. Being the only people in the restaurant we thought the service would be pretty quick. Nope! It took 20 minutes for our food. Apparently our nachos had been done but the ribs took longer. By the time she brought out all of our food, the nachos had become dry and hard. The cheese solidified into a material that resembles silicone. I thought the ribs I ate were dry and chewy but my husband thought they were alright... edible but nothing to write home about. We stopped in Christmas Eve 2022. This place has amazing food! My wife and I had the alligator Po Boy's with Red beans and rice and also the deep fried corn on the cob. OMG it was amazing. Crawfish Boil!!! Ok so I've never had crawfish before so this was a whole new experience for me. First of all they flew them in from Louisiana and they arrived ALIVE! I literally got to watch them give the little guys a bath before they were boiled alive. Sorta made me a little sad but I know the flavor of fresh food is always best so.... After the deed is done, they come out hot, red, and spicey. Served in a huge pile with sweet corn on the cob, red potatoes, and sausage chunks. I have to admit looking at a whole animal, head and all was a little intimidating, not to mention I had no clue how to eat them. Luckily they were happy to teach me the proper technique and I got the hang of it quickly. The spice blend was awsome and covered the whole boil, the crawfish were good, think mini lobster but not as sweet, very tasty though. It was a fun experience, and only happens once a year at T's, unless you special order it for a catering event. I know we are a long way from New Orleans, but T's truly brings it NOLA to you. They ship in authentic, crusty, French bread for their po'boys. They have a light hand when frying up perfect shrimp and fish, make a heck of a gumbo from scratch, the smoked chicken is my (Texan) husband's favorite, and the iced tea is really good... which is super hard to find west of the Pecos. We've really enjoyed every meal we've had at T's from the sides to the mains and apps (shout out chicken on a stick). The owners are always friendly to boot. I'd recommend no reservations! read more

Where do I start? I mean, if you want a true example of a bad BBQ place, I think TJ's is it. I've never had worse BBQ. The BBQ beef is actually small squares of like pot roast beef, which I thought was strange. The BBQ sauce is literally watered down. The corn bread is dry and non flavorful. I actually spit it out and I never spit out food. The fires are average. The breaded sweet potato fries are tasty though. I'd order those again. I passed the Texas BBQ place on the North side of town and thought, "anyone who puts Texas in their BBQ name has always been good. I've never been disappointed with Texas BBQ". Heck, I'm rarely unimpressed with BBQ in general, but TJ's is just not good. They also charge 50 cents for each cup of tap water. read more

I'm glad to have found another BBQ choice in town, and one with a Cajun-theme to boot! While it's not the best BBQ I've had, it is a pretty solid choice. The BBQ pork was nice and tender, and their red beans and rice could stand up to its true Southern brethren. The shrimp poboy didn't skimp on ingredients, and the bread was nice and crusty as a good poboy bread should be. If I had to give one critique, it would be on the Hurricane I had. It actually tasted nothing like one. Plus the fact that it was frozen. It was more strawberry daiquiri (which they also have on the menu) and less rum and fruit punch. Also, they were out of Abita Amber. However, I appreciate that they serve Abita and don't necessarily fault them for being out of something at the time. The location is kind of off the beaten path off of Main Street, almost hidden in the depths of its parking lot. They have a nice outdoor area that could benefit from a few more picnic tables, as it's quite a large space. The service was friendly and quick. I had another amazing lunch at T's Smokehouse today. Went with a burger and some fries. Sherrie had read my reviews and suggested I try a different version of the fries. They were made like how they make the potato logs, which is a beer batter then fried. I loved them and was told this was how they used to make the fries. I am a huge fan of them. I think the next time I go I will be trying the sweet potato logs to see how those are. I am not typically a fan of sweet potatoes but I was told they are amazing so I am going to try them. Our family was a little disappointed in the food here. We ordered 2 Sampler plates ($20 each), which included 2 portions of cornbread. We also ordered sides of "sweet potato logs" (deep fried, fairly tasteless), french fries, and cole slaw. When the food was delivered, there was only a single portion of cole slaw, instead of the pint which we ordered. After asking about this, the lady working here went back to check the order. She returned and said we had only been charged for the single portion. There was no problem, she would just add the price of another single portion of cole slaw and bring it out to us. We had no print-out of the receipt to see what we were charged for, which should be a courtesy after we order from a desk at the front entrance. When we got ready to leave, we asked for some BBQ sauce "to go," so we could enjoy the leftovers a bit later. No problem--a side of BBQ sauce (the size of a small catsup container) was provided for 75 cents. It just seems when you spend a considerable amount here on food, a small container of BBQ sauce should be complimentary, as well as the error about the cole slaw without bringing another bill for that. We also ordered a bowl of soup (good but rather pricey at $9). The ribs were rather tough, not fall-off-the-bone good. I think we'll try another establishment in the area next time. read more

Louisiana meets Durango here at T's. Found it through my GPS and felt like BBQ. The menu is Cajun centric and they even serve po' boys and Abita beer. The 2 dueling iron alligators sold me as I lived in NOLA for 2 years and love the food. I'm guessing the owners are from Louisiana. Had the pulled pork platter with corn bread, coke slaw and fried corn. The pork was excellent but the best part was the battered and deep fried corn on the cob - never had it before with the batter. Very delicious though I only ate half since I'm trying to delay my heart attack for a few years. I knocked off a star because they close early in the evening and the location is a little hidden.
