We had a fantastic breakfast at the Smokehouse in Ouray! We meandered through town prior to and nothing was calling to us so we started down the road and happened upon this place and I'm so thrilled about it! It can be a little confusing because it's a part of a campground/ resort. But once you turn in, you can easily identify where to go! Service was great! [[HIGHLIGHT]]We sat outside with the nice, warm propane heaters![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I got the bronco buster and wife got the all American. The sausage gravy was !!

Wow. Such complex pairings in the brisket eggs Benedict. Loved the chunky potatoes to clean up the hollandaise sauce. Son had eggs, brisket and hash. This place left me overhearing multiple people say to waitress "wow this was good." It is a memorable experience. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Outside patio had six hummingbirds visiting plants.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Hours are odd. Dinner sometimes, sometimes not. Check the Ouray Riverside Resort for info or call so you don't waste a trip. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Epic views of mountain behind and joins Ouray River walk.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Well worth a bike ride from Ouray on river walk or drive.

We just got done with the downstream part of the Ouray Via Ferrata and stopped in here for some much needed fuel! The service was great and the food hit the spot! Great seasoning on our meals! When we are back in town we will be stopping here again! Dan & Lexi

After a very long drive from Phoenix to Ouray the night before, I decided to take my friends out for breakfast. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The location is perfect right by the river and the interior very cozy but we decided to sit on the patio.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Although it was chilly, the heaters did a great job of warning us up. The server couldn't be better at her job. Impeccable service! The eggs were perfectly cooked and my friends said the Huevos Rancheros weee the best that they ever had!

This is a convenient stop if you're staying at the attached RV park, and even if you're not, it's worth a visit for a fun, easygoing night out. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere was lively, with live music and a laid-back crowd that made the evening feel relaxed and enjoyable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I started with the cucumber martini, which was fresh, crisp, and perfectly balanced. For dinner, I ordered the sampler platter with brisket, ribs, and chicken. The barbecue was decent across the board. The brisket had good flavor, the ribs were tender, and the chicken was moist and well-cooked. The sides--baked beans and mac and cheese--were both satisfying and filling. Service was excellent. Everyone we interacted with was genuinely friendly and made us feel welcome. The highlight of the night was dessert. The s'mores martini tasted like melted ice cream in the best possible way. It was topped with a torched marshmallow, done tableside, which added a fun and memorable touch.

This little restaurant is a ways out of ouray and is kind of in the RV park which is why it got 4 stars. The food and service were great. I had the brisket BLT but the b was for brisket. The wife tried the pulled sandwich. I ordered the potato salad which I would totally recommend. The brisket was tender and flavorful. The wife said the pork was also great.

It was just ok. Not bad, but kind of limited menu. The food was nothing special! Probably won't go back.

Great outdoor parking and very fast service. We had the sampler and the brisket and ribs were amazing. The sides are ok.

The Western is such a vibe that my wife has asked me to bring her here again next year on our 20th…read moreanniversary. It's a 140-year place with history and charm and creaks in the floor and a dead bear on the wall and preserved painting of a woman on the bar floor... that kinda spot. And we wouldn't change a thing. The views are spectacular all around, the drive into Ouray is beautiful and The Western puts you in great position to walk Main Street or hike up to Cascade Falls. The bar and bartenders are cocktails are all super cool, including a single large branded ice cube in the glass. Let's talk about the restaurant, though. I didn't want to venture and we gave it a shot. Nothing on the menu really even looked appetizing to me or the kids but we put on a good face anyway for mom. We ate all the food and our words--it was all delicious! By the way: I've spoken to locals and frequenters of Ouray who say that The Western was once considered kinda dumpy before a renovation in the past few years. I can't speak for how it was then, but I can tell you how it is now is just where I want to be.

We went here on a Saturday evening, and the place was absolutely packed, always a good sign…read more Luckily, the chef's table was open, and I'm so glad we grabbed those seats. If you can, do it. It completely elevates the experience. The amuse-bouche was the perfect start to the meal, a bright, refreshing citrus bite with goat cheese, prosciutto, and a light acidic glaze. Thoughtful, balanced, and such a great opening note for the evening. Next was the butternut squash ravioli, and honestly, the sauce alone was memorable. Rich without being heavy, deeply flavorful, and one of those dishes you keep thinking about long after the meal ends. We followed that with the ribeye, cooked medium-well, paired with potato fingers. The steak came with a fantastic chimichurri, and the chef even stopped by to recommend a finishing salt specifically for the ribeye. That level of attention to detail, combined with thoughtful table side service, really stood out. I also have to give a huge shoutout to the bar staff. The creativity behind the drink menu is impressive, and the cocktails are genuinely fun, inventive, balanced, and clearly crafted with care. It's no surprise the drink menu has recently won awards, and you can absolutely taste why. What truly made the experience special was watching the kitchen in action. The female lead chef was calm, focused, and clearly guiding the team with confidence. It felt like watching a well-orchestrated dance, and the food absolutely reflected that leadership. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised at all if she ends up with a spot on one of the Top Chef shows. This place is a must stop. Grab the chef's table if you can, enjoy the cocktails, and trust the kitchen. The talent here is real, and it shows.
