I was super excited to see taiyaki (fish-shaped pastry) in KC, but it came out greasy inside and out, even though I didn't know taiyaki could even turn out greasy, and the whole experience ran up a much higher bill than most boba joints. All things considered, not worth it. Definitely go check out other local places like Gocha, Ding Tea, and Takao Tea! For Asian desserts, I love Hamu Bakery (formerly Beyond Bread) and Leafy Dessert Cafe.

They did switch to a kiosk ordering a few years back, so it feels slightly impersonal, but they are efficient with their process. I really like the almond milk tea with pearls when the weather is right for it, and am always open to exploring new options here. They seem very friendly, very efficient, and have brought a much needed concept to the Plaza (and KC in general, tbh). Not quite regulars here, but glad to visit a handful of times each year.

Then, you're welcome to find a seat at any of the open seating options which are always nice and clean. After that, they'll either call your number or they'll come find you in the dining area and bring you your order! It was a super nice and convenient process and I enjoyed sitting down in the open area and using their free wifi to browse on my laptop and work on some work related projects.
