1 Star Wish I could have left no stars. I've been to many Waffle House locations, but this one was by far the worst experience I've ever had. The service was painfully slow, and several staff members were extremely rude -- especially Arleshia, who had the worst attitude toward customers. While we were waiting, I actually witnessed a few employees trying to discreetly pour alcohol into cups behind the counter. I had my kids with me, and the amount of profanity coming from the staff was completely unacceptable. It was loud, unprofessional, and totally inappropriate for a family environment. Because of all this, we didn't even feel comfortable staying to eat and just took our food to go. Once again, the staff was extremely pleasant at this location. When calling in my phone order, the young lady that took my order was very sweet. She didn't rush me like some places will do. When I got in, she knew who I was and handed me my freshly prepared order. Her and the other staff this Sunday morning were great. wish i could give a 0 star review. I'm a regular at this location and that was my last visit. very upsetting. New employee chrissy or christy i don't remember exactly her name but had a very nasty attitude. she tried to charge me 75 cents for a syrup when i paid for a 20$ meal, which was fine but her respond was "do you want it or not" with a very nasty body language. This would be my last time coming to this location. This is something that needs to be changed. Like how are you working in a customer service industry with no customer service. She came out yelling at me while I was waiting on a parking spot. So after I parked to sum everything up. I went in and asked to speak to her by the register privately. The coffee was actually good, I think we had good timing and got there when a new pot was brewed. The food was simple but good. The service was friendly but when we got there only one table had a person at it and despite the 4 people behind the counter, all the tables were dirty except one. Last night, I went to 3 gas stations looking for a cold drink and none were open. We were still under curfew from the storm. I saw Waffle House in the distance and thought let me hear stop here it's the only thing open. As i pulled up people were telling me that they were closed. I went up anyway, got out of the car and mouthed to one of the workers to hear me out. The young man came to the door and opened to tell me they were closed. I told him I was super thirsty and just wanted a drink. He let me into the restaurant. There were 3 young men working on closing duties, and prepping for the next day, so i asked what time they closed, he said 9. I looked down at my watch and it was 11pm! They were well past closing hours and still took the time out to give me a drink. During a time like this it's always so refreshing to know there's hospitality in the world. Let's jump straight to why I keep coming back to my favorite anytime of day or night cheap meal spot... The People! Every Waffle House I have ever been to is staffed with cooks/servers who really seem to enjoy their job, and it shows when they cut up with diners. We have fun conversations, joke about getting off the clock, and on one occasion collectively razzed a cook who didn't know what "Super Sunday" was in New Orleans. I can't think of another restaurant where I feel so comfortable and able to chat with my server and cooks. Having them just across the counter is a feature almost every other non-Waffle House restaurant out there does not have. Veronica, the owner, happily greeted us as soon as we walked through the door. There was a 5 minute wait so she offered us coffee while we waited. The food came extremely fast and it was delicious! I went here with a friend the other night because two other places we tried to go were closed. I am from Georgia where WaHo is much more common, they are literally everywhere. This was my first WaHo experience in Louisiana and I must say I was pleased. There was no wait for a table, the restaurant was clean, the service was good, the order correct, and everyone was friendly. I ordered the bacon, egg, and cheese melt which came with hash browns. Everything was really tasty and the portion size was generous in my opinion. They also let you pick from regular or Texas toast for you melt which is a nice touch. I went for the Texas toast and it was great. This place, like all WaHo's, is always a great bet because it's dirt cheap, always open, and the staff are friendly. I know it is just cheap diner food but sometimes I just enjoy that kind of meal. If it's late and you are hungry give this place a try, it is cheaper and much more satisfying than fast food. read more

I have a call in to the Manager and will be contacting corporate offices tomorrow. This is the worst Waffle House ever! Ordering by phone was not exactly friendly but I thought they might've been busy. I was told food would be 5mins. Went quickly to find that their waffle machines weren't signing well so I waited. It was 8pm and the place was empty. The floors were filthy and at least four tables were a mess. The counters were not clean and there was food on the floor. After three waffle attempts and an incident where part of my order almost walked out the door in another take out customer's bag... my order was finished and half cold. I paid and went home to find that my eggs were not included and an order of bacon was missing. I called to ask for them to make the missing items and returned. Not only had they not cooked the missing items, I was told that I hadn't ordered them! The clerk Dajuana was rude and yelling! When I responded, the racist waitress says "You people all think you can come here and talk to me like this!" I reminded her that I was the customer and that I was only one person but that didn't stop her from screaming at me, refusing to tell me who the manager was, and practically refusing to order the remaining food items on my behalf. She cooked herself food, told me it was shift change time and yelled that she is a child and shouldn't be spoken to like this because she has a parent! I was shocked by such bad behavior and the cook and other waitress seemed amused. I will never go back to this Waffle House and I will not stop contacting the manager, district managers and corporate offices as long as this waitress works for them. read more

After my experience with the location in NOLA East, I was fully expecting this Waffle House to be a mess. Not so; they were busy, but the staff was working together to make sure all customers were taken care of. We were promptly greeted upon sitting down and they quickly got everything cleaned up for us. My pecan waffle with chocolate chips was delicious, as were my hashbrowns with chili on top. When the new, fancy Waffle House on Canal opens I'll go there, but this one is great, literally right off the GNO. read more

Best Waffle House EVER. After opening the door for you, the manager gives you a high 5. The place was packed and the wait was considerable, but the food, customer service and atmosphere was worth it. Loved the manager and our waiter, Derek. Both were very sweet, good people who clearly care about the quality of their service and customer satisfaction. Stopped in to grab a quick bite to eat on my way into work this morning. No time to make anything healthy and I didn't wanna eat food out of a bag this morning from a fast food joint. This location just opened a few months ago and its super clean and bright...right off the CCC on General DeGaulle. Service was awesome. My waitress Santanna was very helpful and awesome. All the employess greeted me as soon as I opened the front door and they were all engaging in morning convos with their customers. They seem to be like family in here....and know their customers very well. They would literally begin making orders for the person when they saw them pull in the driveway...THAT'S GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. This place is top notch- especially during peak hours- everyone is so nice and accommodating. I had biscuit with sausage gravy- the waitress warned me the gravy was not freshly made- but I didn't care- I was a little nervous- thinking it might be chunky with that film that tends to form on gravies that have been sitting, but it was delicious! Chunks of sausage- not gravy film. And perfect coffee. My son has eggs and hash browns and sweet tea- he is very picky- especially about his sweet tea- he said it was perfect. So we had a great late Saturday breakfast on the West Bank- just a few minutes across the river. And the customers are very stylin'. read more
