Not really a fan of this Thai food truck. Located in south austin, my husband and I checked this out after ACL. It's around bunch of other food trucks that are open during the day. There are many picnic benches to enjoy your food. Sukjai offers a variety of dishes from rices, to curries, to noodles. I tried the pad see ew and the green curry. The pad see ew was purely made with soy sauce but had great spice. The green curry lacked in flavor but had ton of veggies. Overall - not a fan of their Thai food but great service.

PAD THAI good food, good people, their Thai tea and coffee were a bit toooooo sweet so maybe I'd opt out of that, but the noodles are splendid! Not captured but I've also ordered their fish, was delicious.

I usually don't walk up without checking Yelp first but I had a good feeling about Sukjai. Typical Thai restaurant fare, with lots of options. I ordered the Pad Phak. The lady was super nice, and it's quite delicious! Heavy on the peppers but it's got a nice garlic sauce and the chicken is tender. Just a heads up though I asked for 2 stars and we've got some heat!! So maybe go one less than usual. Attaching my progress shot (sorry too hungry!)

The menu is pretty extensive too, so it was easy for everyone to find something they were excited about. I had the Tum Tad salad, which was super fresh and flavorful with a nice balance of tangy and savory. For dessert, the mango sticky rice was a standout. It was made with a black rice that actually looked kind of blue, which made it really visually fun. Not totally sure if there was some ube mixed in or just the natural color, but either way it was delicious and a little different from the usual version.

The restaurant itself has a lot of indoor and outdoor seating, as well as a bar. It seems like a nice place to have a meal. As for the food, we ordered: Pad thai with chicken, mild spice - unfortunately this was a bit dry for me, though the taste was good. Pad see ew with chicken - I liked their version and would probably get it again. Pad woon sen with pork - typically my favorite noodle dish and I think they did a good job. Garden roll - good but not as packed as others I've had, and at a higher price point. Pineapple fried rice with pork - I liked this but was a bit on the oily side. Tom kha soup - I thought this was very good and had a decent amount of chicken and mushrooms Overall I liked everything but some items I felt I had better versions of elsewhere. It's also on the pricier side. Still, if in central Austin I think it's a solid choice for Thai food.

I've noticed while being in Texas, places that cater to the ethnicity that the food is for are given a lover rating then if the food was white washed. Ex: I've gone to a few Mexican restaurants and the food wasn't spicy and was missing a lot of flavor. All the ratings were great for the restaurants even though clearly it was missing a lot of key ingredients. But this restaurant was AMAZING the service was also amazing and if you want good curry come here! The ambience was nice too. They were playing k pop music (I know that's not everyone's favorite music but u couldn't really here it that much anyway) also they were playing cute animal music in the back and I loved it! Anyway loved this place and the food was GREAT, it's hard to find a restaurant with great flavor that had great spice. If you don't like restaurants with spicy food you can adjust the spice. Also, it was a little dim but that doesn't affect the food at. LOVED this place!!!

Loved the food truck so really wanted to check out the Brick and Mortar! Came on a Sunday to try…read moreout some delicious thai food with my thai food bestie! Ambience: Dark and moody with plenty of seating and a partial viewing of the kitchen. Service: the waitress was super prompt and also gave a lot of explanation about items on the menu in case we weren't familiar with the dish. Food: The food is probably some of the best thai food in Austin. We ordered the papaya salad which came out more in like a "thin flat noodle fashion" than what we are normally used to, it's not super spicy like most thai restuarants like to serve it but still has some robust flavors and some spice it also comes with cracklings which are super crunchy. The chinese broccolli is always a favorite of mine for the texture and the Pork Ribs dish was super creamy with a hint of spice that left you craving more. The menu is so large that we will definetly be back, i'd recommend going close to open as it's not as crowded!

My friend and I decided to check this place out since we've heard many good things about Kiin Di…read moreeven from days it was a food truck. We got the: * Roti Dip * Soft shell crab in curry * Papaya salad I loved the roti, it was crispy and the curry was flavorful, a bit salty but they paired well. The biggest miss for me was the soft shell crab in curry, the plate came out room temp which was a bit disappointing since curry is best served warm/hot. The batter on the crab was super thick it felt like we were just eating deep fried crab that got soggy quickly as it's served in the curry. The curry had some separation almost as if the coconut milk in it had been reheated or curdled during the cooking process. I'm not an expert chef but I've worked with coconut milk enough to notice these things. The papaya salad was decent, I loved the tangy and fresh flavors (we opted for 3 spice but definitely could've amped it up). I prefer my papaya salad with more "funk" but understand that's a different style. I am sad I had to give this place only 3 stars because my expectations were high considering this is their brick & mortar. I will have to give it a try again and taste other dishes. Overall the service was friendly, got sat immediately and didn't have to wait too long for the food to come out. More parking in the back of the restaurant, be weary of the signs from other businesses.
