Since moving to austin this is my new favorite Thai food. I decided to go to the location today and eat there. Only to find out it's actually a food truck. I've ordered delivery both time before this and had no idea. With that being said keep in mind it may take a little longer for your food. Overall: 4.4/5 Dang do they make their food spicy! This is probably the spiciest Thai food we have had. We are pork fiends and ordered all of our dishes with pork which they cook so well. We have done both takeout and delivery and both times the food was great. E3. Pad Prik Pao with Pork ($16): Stir fried pork with white onions, green onions, and red bell pepper in a spicy and sweet brown sauce. This was good for the first half but I got tired of the flavor toward the end and saved the rest for the next day. E1. Pad Ka Prao Thai Style with Ground Pork ($17): Stir fried ground pork with Thai chili and basil. One of the better pad ka prao we have had in Austin, if not the best. E13. Pad Ka Prao Moo Krob ($21): Fried pork belly stir fried with Thai chili and basil. This was our favorite dish of the meal. E6. Pad Prik Khing with Pork Belly ($25): We got spice level 2 and it was hot. Lots of green beans and it had a bit of a red curry taste to it. The pork belly was good but E13 was better. D1. Sweet Sticky Rice ($8): Came with egg custard on top instead of mango which was interesting. We were so sad when our favorite food truck at the picnic left, but we're even happier to see this one take its spot! This Thai spot is very traditional and absolutely delicious. We got the pad Thai and the pad see ew with a Thai iced tea. My husband said the pad Thai was the best in Austin and I loved the pad see ew, it didn't feel overly heavy like they sometimes can which I really enjoyed. The Thai tea was a little sweet for my liking, but still a tasty treat. We ordered over the phone for pickup, and the service was fast and the team was so kind! They do have plenty of parking and some covered and uncovered seating if you choose to eat there. Overall really enjoyed this place & over the moon we have a new Thai truck back! read more

5/5 for the pork belly dish, but 3/5 for pad see ew. We thought the pork belly krapow stole the show! It was full of flavor. Perfect blend of sweet and savory. Pork belly was crispy and saucy enough without being too overwhelming. The basil was fragrant and the dish definitely wouldn't be complete without it. The pad see ew, however, was a bit of a let-down :( I was expecting it to be just as flavorful as the pork belly dish but it was quite bland and noodles were overcooked. I would come back to try their other dishes but probably not the pad see ew again. It took a bit long to make our food but that didn't bother us. This food truck is one of my favorite Thai places in Austin. The lady that runs the food truck is always super sweet and nice. Not really a fan of this Thai food truck. Located in south austin, my husband and I checked this out after ACL. It's around bunch of other food trucks that are open during the day. There are many picnic benches to enjoy your food. Sukjai offers a variety of dishes from rices, to curries, to noodles. I tried the pad see ew and the green curry. The pad see ew was purely made with soy sauce but had great spice. The green curry lacked in flavor but had ton of veggies. Overall - not a fan of their Thai food but great service. read more

THE BIG: Located in South Austin, right off of Live Oak and 1st street inside the food truck campground. Plenty of benches to eat on premise and parking is relegated to the street. THE BLACK AND WHITE: The wife and I came here after ACL looking for something to snack on after jamming out to Blink 182 and Sukjai had some good reviews. They were opened at 10:30pm which was great and we ordered the pad see ew and the green curry. They made it quickly which was great, however the taste was off. The pad see ew didn't have the right saltiness, I assume because it was mainly soy sauce instead of fish sauce. It was the same with the green curry. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Overall, we spent around $35 for two dishes. Fast and late night service, however the food was a miss for me. read more

Friendly and very nice owners/service from this Thai food truck. Very helpful pictures all over the side of the truck to help you decipher the different dishes that you might want to order (this is a big plus for those who aren't familiar with Thai dishes). As they cook things to order there will be a slight wait when they're really busy (they do also have to go orders as well). We tried a few things: - Eggrolls - these were crisp and perfectly fried with a soft melty cabbage-y filling - Pad Thai - a staple dish. This one has thin rice noodles with the savory sweet flavors. It was ok but not my favorite Pad Thai dish in town. - Green curry. This one had a little heat but not as much as I would have expected. I thought the flavors were good with the sweetness of the coconut milk balancing the savory/spiciness. This was great with the rice and my favorite of the dishes. Great little spot. Highlight- the pad thai. Went with chicken as the protein and it was a little light on meat, and the noodles were not the traditional flat rice noodle I would have expected, more of spaghetti noddle, BUT, and it's a big ole but, the flavor was OFF THE CHARTS. I've been eating thai since I was a child, all over the world, and I'm telling you, this was the best pad thai flavor-wise I've ever had. Very good and will get again. Another superlative was the pork larb. Packs a punch! Well executed and maybe lacking just a little of the sweetness you'd expect to balance the sour. But very good. The curry, thinner than normal, was also very flavorful and on target from a taste expectation. The beef in our pad prik was tough TBH, but again, the sauce was on point. The cold rolls were average. Finding this spot and accounting for the variability of thai cuisine by chef, timing and style, plus delivery, I will definitely be ordering again to see if some of the little things are tightened up. I usually don't walk up without checking Yelp first but I had a good feeling about Sukjai. Typical Thai restaurant fare, with lots of options. I ordered the Pad Phak. The lady was super nice, and it's quite delicious! Heavy on the peppers but it's got a nice garlic sauce and the chicken is tender. What a find! We had our typical places in Bouldin for thai food and they were all decent, but Sukjai will now become our goto place to order thai from as there is one dish you have to do well if you are a thai restaurant and they hit it out of the park...pad thai. We also got the pad se ew which was equally amazing. Taste was a 10, and portion size was enough for two of us for 2-3 nights of dinner.
