Holy cow we loved this place!! This is some of the best Thai food I've had in Austin. We came and got a smorgasbord from the menu because everything looked so delicious. The food truck is settled in a neighborhood park in east Austin which is so cutie. There are lots of tables if you wanted to eat there, or you could even bring a picnic blanket weather permitting! We ordered our food (ordered to-go) and got it pretty quickly. Everything was wrapped so well so as to avoid any spilling in transit which I really appreciated. My one negative thing was that the mekin hot wings tasted like fish (and I really don't like fish), so I just wish the oil had been changed out more. Everything else was so fantastic we ate till we were bursting and there were still leftovers. We will be coming back and trying even more items! read more

So good!! I live 5 minutes away and have been wanting to checkout this food trailer park for a while. I finally had the chance today and I love it! I can't wait to try them all! I ordered chicken pad Thai from Mekin and it was delicious! It was hot and fresh and the flavors are great! This is the best thai food in south Austin - full stop. I consider myself rather lucky to have Mekin close to home. Having just opened last year, this family ran food truck will surprise you. The family who runs this truck is so sweet. They definitely appreciate their regulars and are part of the reason I return religiously. Their wait times may be 30+ minutes at time, but it's so worth it. I sometimes call ahead. The food truck park offers plenty of shaded seating and other options to explore while you wait. At this point, I've tried several of their curries, noodles and fried rice dishes. I also order their crab rangoons 100% of the time. Aside from the rangoons, my go to's are their massaman curry with beef, their train fried rice and their house fried rice. Tried Kin Thai Food for the first time at the Tree House Park food trucks and it did not disappoint! I ordered the Pad See Ew and Basil Fried Rice--both were delicious and full of flavor. Prices are very reasonable, and service was quick and easy. You can order right at the window or place your order in advance through their app. My food came out fast, and I loved that they have their own dining area in the park with plenty of seating. Look for the green truck tucked in the far corner--it's definitely worth a stop! read more

This family-owned and operated spot puts heart into every dish, and it shows! They focus on quality and only put on the menu what they've mastered. I've suggested Papaya Salad, and to my surprise, they informed me they tried, but couldn't find the right recipe to sell-- which I wholeheartedly respect. I'm obsessed with their Pad Thai & Pad See Eww. I always request an extra kick to make it spicy and typically order either Shrimp or Beef and always find their proteins cooked to perfection. We are badly in need of good Thai nearby Easton park. The basil fried rice was good, not overly fried, but seasoned well with veggies. The green curry was also good not super spicy but was not seasoned that much compared to other versions we've tried and was very watery. We also enjoyed the crab rangoons which were top notch. Overall, Mekhin is a decent spot but the serving sizes were small for the price point and they didn't blow us away. But still happy to have in the area! read more

Must try! So glad we've got a newcomer to the treehouse area. We got the crab rangoons, pad krapow, and pad see ew. Everything was super flavorful, and tasty. The noodles were well cooked and had good texture. The pad krapow was spicy enough to need a glass of water, but not too spicy you couldn't finish. The owner is from Thailand and she used to have a restaurant in Thailand too. I go almost weekly to the point that they know me already. The service is so amazing and friendly. Run don't walk to Easton Park's newest food truck. This place is amazing. Thai is my favorite food group and this place ranks among some of the best I've had.
