Hello folks. It is time for another one of my reviews. I came here before the premier of spiderman with my hb and his familamily. I ordered the Ronald Reagan Roll for no particular reason. Trust me. It was very very good. Also somebody got these weird appetizer squid halls dish I don't know I can remember what was in it, but it was good. I can remember that! I also tried another sushi piece but I can't remember the name. it was also very good! The service was very good as well. It was busy but they still got everything out as fast as they could! Bravo! Cmon folks give em a round of applause! "" That's what I'm talking about! The inside of the place was also very cool. When we walked in they were singing happy birthday to someone. DO NOT EAT HERE On May 7th, 2026 I had a terrible and dangerous experience at I Love Sushi. I would not recommend anyone to eat here EVER again. I went on a girls night out to celebrate mother's day early. My friend and I ordered 1 appetizer, 2 rolls, and 2 soft drinks. Half way through our meal my friend bit down on a sharp piece of metal that was inside one of our sushi rolls. We were livid and refused to eat any more and asked for the bill to be comped. The waitress was so sweet and understanding, however the owner was not. Before this incident even occurred, it obvious upon entering the restaurant that he has an issue with removing items from the bill or offering refunds. This is posted everywhere from the specials board next to the host stand to a full page inside the menu. We were told the owner is likely to call the police if we do not pay. The staff was terrified of upsetting him and it was apparent. The young waitress said "he is going to yell at me and i'm scared. I hate when he yells at me." At this point we made him wait on the phone to finish conversation with staff. Further, staff asked us to talk to him on the phone instead of operating in good faith. In this phone call my friend and I were told we are "overreacting" and our anger is "entertaining". We tipped the staff that helped us the cost of the bill and left our phone number up front in case the cops wanted to chase us down. The cops never came but it would have been enjoyable to see the restaurant become aware of contamination and hazards in their food. We called the health department who came a week or so following the incident. Although the health report did not find any further contamination in their food I Love Sushi was also flagged for washing dishes in the sink where food is prepped and incorrect washing of hands with limited handwashing supplies. First time customers, walked in and 1/2 the chairs at the sushi bar are up on the counter. The seating at the sushi counter is pointless, they are regular chairs and the top of the counter is at least 5'4". Basically you can't see the items in the cooler nor the chef prepare the food. It seemed like they were cramming a lot of stuff in the entrance, ice cream freezer, a drink cooler, a huge wheel to spin on your birthday. They had no diet soda available either. My customary roll is the caterpillar roll, which is cooked eel, cucumber, avocado and some crab. So, I had to order the upgraded version to include all those pieces, where other sushi restaurants have them as standard. The reason it's called the caterpillar roll is because is is normally covered in avocado so it looks bright green like a caterpillar. I've had chefs use cucumber to make antennas too. Upon receiving my roll I could not figure out if it even had eel inside it. I had the server take it back and ask a chef. The chef even had to examine the roll to see if there was eel. You'll see in the picture it is mostly crab and there's a minuscule dark section which is the eel. There was a single piece of cucumber (string) in the whole roll, I would randomly find it in one bite of my pieces. You can't see in the picture I pulled it out of the end piece so you can't see the thickness. Lastly, as mentioned the caterpillar is usually bright green, this roll had slivers of avocado on top. I see a lot of reviews and I'm sorry for anyone who had a bad experience. But that didn't apply to me, me and my bestie went randomly because we were craving sushi. It wasn't busy when we went and the shop has a nice aesthetic. I do not eat any raw fish so I got a cooked roll (Rock n Roll) and their baked mussels, the server we had was sweet too. The baked mussels were GREAT and my roll was delicious, my bestie also enjoyed hers but I forgot what it was called. We would go back 100% just to eat those mussels again! read more

The host seated us almost immediately, only that we were in the family and kids section (loud at times with kids having fun).... Our server was friendly and efficient... drinks, taking our order, answering questions.... The host made his rounds and visited just about every table to check on overall performance, food, empty dishes, drinks, making sure everyone was content.... Our food was very good... We highly recommend and we will be back... maybe ask to sit around adults only next time, but not by the bathrooms.... read more

One of our occasional date spots. I'm not gonna lie, the first time I tried this place years ago-- I did not like it. But, since being with my bf... he said he liked it, so I gave it another chance and it hasn't disappointed since... other than raising their prices (ugh, inflation). The restaurant is nice... but not super fancy nice. I don't feel pressure to dress a certain way coming here so I like that. They keep it clean, plenty of available seating on both sides of the restaurant, as well as the sushi bar, and the outside patio. Host/Hostesses are always quick to greet you and get you seated as soon as possible. I've never waited too long, but I don't usually stick around if they (any restaurant) tell me it's an hour or more wait (if I'm starving). The longest I've waited here was probably 40mins... but we kept ourselves entertained. As for service at the table? I've never had an issue with any of our waiters/waitresses. Good job. When it's the two of us, we usually stick to the same type of rolls. He always goes for anything with Tuna, I go for Salmon (raw). I've switched between the K-Roll (name has changed from Kaylee or something) and the Psycho roll. They are basically the same thing honestly... just one has crab, one doesn't. He did Mura Mura this time, usually he does Marilyn Monroe. Again, there's no difference. All of their rolls are pretty similar with the slightest difference between each. I've tried a few others when I dined with my siblings but I can't remember what they were... all similar I'm sure, but all good. Oh, anything with thin lemon slices are good too. For appetizers, my favorite is the Stuffy Mushrooms. I prefer it without the fish flakes though. & I wish there was actually more of the pepper in there... it's just one tiny little piece. Edamame is always a good snack and they have different flavor options. The Mussels are okay here... not the best so it's not a must for me. Can't recall anything else at the moment. We came at 6pm on a Saturday. It was bustling but we didn't have to wait for a table which was great. There are rules posted all over the walls around the waiting area which is a little off-putting but I get it, people can be wild. The dining room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. Our servers were friendly and prompt. We ordered the super sunomono for starters. Very yummy! For rolls we got the wrecked, sushi mafia, and the nutty. All of them were great. I like that you can eat each slice in one bite and all were very flavorful. Can't wait to come back. read more

I love I love sushi!! The super jack black roll is my FAVORITE. So yummm. But besides that, every time I've went, we have been seated fairly quick! The workers are nice and welcoming as well. When ordering, you scan the QR code for the menu and the server takes your order! Don't really like the set up of the menu but it is what it is, could be neater and easier to navigate. Love coming here, their sushi is always good. Service is quick and friendly. One of the reasons why I love coming here is because of their sauce! I love spicy and they come through with the spicy sauce, I believe it's called 911 sauce and the 1822 sauce. It's a blended mixture of green chilis and the spiciest one is topped off with a capsicum hot sauce. So bomb, need to have it at every sushi spot. read more

This is one of our go to sushi spots. They have a variety of sushi rolls and I like that they separate them by groups. For example, raw, cooked, salmon, tuna, torched etc.. easier to find what you want. Can b a lil overwhelming when u cant decide tho but for sure you'll find something. Love their 911 spicy sauce! I always get a spicy sushi roll. Usually with a side of spicy tuna/seaweed salad. This time we ordered the fried shrimp stuffed crab bomb things and total rip off. It's like two shrimp cut n spread apart stuff with imitation crab and got like mayo on it. Got the price it was not worth it! Never getting that again. Our waitress balanced attentiveness and space very well. She was friendly and efficient. Restaurant is nice, though the first bench I sat on sloped downwards, the second did not. We sat on the table side away from the counter and noise level was typical for any restaurant. If you like tempura they had a ton of options on the menu. I tried to order rolls that would hopefully be mostly gluten free. If you like spicy the cinco de mayo was good. Spicy scallops were excellent to me, husband said it was only okay. Tofu roll was my favorite of everything. Salmon skin was also really good. I would not order the Gaga roll again. I did not like the miso soup, but I did like the salad. read more

Yes its called I love sushi but this place makes me never want to eat sushi again. I ordered the cali fried roll with spicy mayo and they put teriyaki sauce on top and the spicy mayo on the side but it wasn't in the description that they add the teriyaki sauce. The "spicy mayo" did not look like it had any mayonnaise and it was not spicy at all. The fried part of the sushi was very flavorless and oily, I couldn't taste what was in the sushi because of the fried part being so bland. I asked the waiter if I can just order the regular California roll instead and they said there is nothing they can do and proceeded to charge me. Very disappointing that they could not fulfill my accommodations or requests or even suggest something to make me feel better about paying for something I didn't like. The environment itself was decent but was not authentic. As soon as I left I felt sick and got food poisoning. 1/10 would not recommend and will never go again. read more

Came here this week for lunch with a co worker and really enjoyed it! Service was outstanding and everyone here is super friendly and would have me coming back just for the service. Inside not your typical sushi ambiance but loved the great music and upbeat attitudes working here. Food was really good I had the spicy poke salad and thought this was a 5 out of 5. I really wanted to give this place five stars and I would give it 4 1/2 if I could, but a four star review will have to suffice for the moment. I love sushi has been a really neat place in the valley for sushi. I like the decor and the layout of the restaurant I find it to be a really neat little experience. I think the sushi is usually very very good, so there isn't much to complain about there. I will say I recently went and ordered a couple rolls, some nigiri, as well as a hand roll. The nigiri and sushi rolls were very tasty, but the hand roll was mediocre. I also find the appetizers to be quite delicious and would highly recommend the mixed tempura. My wife and I did order the spicy edamame, which had good flavoring, but the edamame was definitely undercooked. The staff is also pretty solid. I found the wait time for our sushi and food to be fast. I would definitely recommend I love sushi and I will continue to be a patron of this restaurant. I'd like to go a few more times in the next couple months and possibly update my yelp review, with the hopes of giving it that five stars. read more

The pineapple sake was cold and refreshing. I was expecting the alcohol flavor to be strong but it was sweet and easy to drink. Both sushi rolls were so good and had alot of toppings. We also ordered the chicken teriyaki supreme. This was our least favorite. It did not have enough sauce and was dry. I'd stick to their sushi rolls. The service was good, waitress was friendly. It's an excellent sushi place. We stayed at a Marriott across the road during the trip to California. And we saw this place and by reading the review on Yelp, we decided to try this place. And sure enough, the reviews were correct. This place was good. We bought a combo, so we got the salad and miso soup. They were good. I had a combination of nigiri and sashimi. Fishes were fresh and tasted nice in thickness. If I were in this area, I would come back here. It was decorated with a modern touch. We came for lunch on Sat. 11/15/25 and had the best experience, and our server Evie was so accommodating and kind. Everything was perfect. She apologized that the chef put tempura crumbs on our sushi by mistake, we looked at each other and thought, "That's not a mistake, that's an upgrade!" and our request for extra ginger was fulfilled quickly and with a smile. This place offers a variety of standard favorites if you want consistency. The nice thing is that wait staff asks if you want t all the ingredients included in the special which is nice in case you want to customize your order. They are pretty accommodating with special requests. They also have a nice beer and sake menu which makes the whole sushi experience even better. One thing we like to do when we are here with the whole family is order form the preset platters and see what we get. There's something for everyone. read more

I Love Sushi is one of my favorite sushi places in Fresno/Clovis. The food is good, the service is prompt, and there is a wide variety of sushi rolls to choose from. Honestly it's almost too much selection. Although I eat here with some regularity it was my first time bringing my family. I typically get the Sushiology 1A and the Drunken Fish. The drunken fish was delicious. The Kani was just okay this time around but I definitely finished it. My wife got the caterpillar and the Yummy Gaga and was quite satisfied. Kids ate the chicken katsu and the chicken teriyaki and both cleaned their plates. The last time I came here I wasn't a fan. We didn't receive the best service. We decided to give them another chance. It was my cousin's Birthday and he wanted sushi. Since we were close by we dined here. The front hosts were welcoming and was able to seat us almost immediately. Our server was great as well. She was quick and made sure we had all that we needed. She was attentive and made sure to check on us. Food was brought out quickly. The taste was fresh but a bit too salty on 2 of the 3 rolls we ordered. The rice on the sushi was a bit too wet for me. So it tasted a bit soggy. Other than that everything else was fine. I told the server it was my cousin's birthday, he had to show his id so that he can spin the prize wheel. He ended up winning a shirt so yay for him! I do have a favorite sushi spot so I'd probably just stick with my normal place. *your birthday has to be on the exactly date to spin the wheel. I Love Sushi never disappoints. To start off, the inside of the restaurant is very clean and it's a very traditional sushi setup. I love that there is music playing. Makes it a good vibe. Our server was knowledgeable and helpful. One of the sushi rolls we ordered (james dean) contains fish eggs, and our server told us if fish eggs were okay. We totally forgot that it contained fish eggs, and appreciated that she told us before she put the order in. As for beverages and food, everything was good! My boyfriend and I each ordered an onibi craft beer. They had a flyer of the flavors on their bulletin board in the front. For appetizer, we ordered the crazy edamames (garlic and Japanese chile). The chile is in clumped not really all over the edamames. For sushi rolls, we ordered the James dean, 911 angry roll, og fried tempura, and fried crispy cream rolls. The 911 angry roll is my favorite. I order the 911 sauce on the side because it's SPICY, but I like to dab my sushi in it. The fried rolls are so good too. If you haven't tried sushi ever, you should come here first. They have a lot of variety of sushi rolls (even vegan) and other food options too. read more

I swear I always crave this place on Tuesday's when they are closed. This is my favorite sushi place in Fresno/Clovis. I think they have a huge selection of sushi that's it's hard not to find one that suits you. Now let me start off with, I'm no sushi expert and barely started eating sushi a couple of years back. I definitely don't like the raw fish kind of sushi but I do eat the cooked kind. I order their #90 roll which has spicy crab and double shrimp tempura. It's like a California room just with a kick. Before I was into sushi I would always order their udon which is great in flavor and full of veggies. They also offer bento boxes and lunch/dinner specials. This time around my BF ordered their dinner specials which come with two rolls, miso soup and salad. All for under $20. It's a great place and every time I come there's never an empty table! read more

We tried the James Dean roll, Psycho roll, Hyper Fish Gone Wild roll, and Clovis Mafia roll--all tasted fresh and packed with flavor. The restaurant was spotless, and it was nice to see menus that were clean and freshly wiped down, which added to the welcoming atmosphere.
