    2. Teriyaki Chicken Lunch
    Mary F.

This is one of my favorites for lunch! Lunch special is enough for lunch and left overs for dinner! From the soup to the salad to the huge lunch plater it is just delicious freshness and amazing flavors! Just can't go wrong. Service is perfect, friendly, and helpful when you want to try something new. Your beverage is always kept full! I could come here everyday and be perfectly happy. Til til next time!

I normally love going to Sakura Chaya, which made this last visit especially disappointing. Unfortunately, the food this time was overwhelmingly saturated with butter...to the point where that was the only flavor coming through. I couldn't taste the usual garlic, ginger, soy, or teriyaki notes that typically make their dishes so good. Everything on the plate tasted the same, just heavy and greasy. When I took my leftovers home, there was literally a pool of hardened butter sitting at the bottom of the container the next day. It made the food really hard to enjoy and impossible to "fix" later. The ambience and atmosphere is always cozy and inviting service was OK. There were times I felt like we were waiting on our server instead of them waiting on us. I'm hoping this was just an off night because I've had much better experiences here before, but this visit definitely missed the mark.

First time going during lunch time, I usually go during dinner time. It was surprisingly not busy. Usually during dinner time you have to make reservations since it gets super packed. I got #17A Which is filet mignon with shrimp and an extra side of rice. Food was great. I add their spicy sauce to everything. A must try.

Came here for my aunt's birthday, it's her favorite spot, and I can see why. The food was good and the teppanyaki was entertaining. We had a large group and filled up two teppanyaki tables, and the staff was very accommodating and helpful throughout. Service was great as always, and everyone had a fun.

Celebrating my sister's birthday. Food was excellent, service attentive allowing us to take our time and enjoy our celebration. We had a lot of excitement as our chef slipped and fell on grill. Really hope he is ok! Several staff jumped in and finishing taking care of us.

Dinner and service were EXCELLENT! They never disappoint. Price was very competitive.

This place is awesome! The staff is amazing! They gave us so many recommendations! We didn't try the teppanyaki but we will next time for sure! Their fried rice is very good! Their rolls were great. Recommend going with a party of 3+! Spicy edamame and great presentation!

The food here is delicious! Hands down the best teppan in Fresno! But here is why I'm only giving 3 stars.. we got there and we walked up to the hostess and let her know we had put our name down over the phone, with the rudest attitude and stankiest stank face she told us they would call us shortly. She didn't say hello, she didn't say welcome in, she didn't even look up at us.. if you're gonna be a hostess basically the first person customers interact with when they arrive at a restaurant, you should at least smile. I hate to be this kind of customer cause like I said the food is delicious here but when you dine out you'd expect friendly service from the moment you walk in. The last time we were here the same thing happened with the same girl ( the girl with ribbons all in her hair and thin eyebrows) this time I had to review.

The service has always been above par when we dine here. Seem to always find a new favorited dish every visit, and my new fav is the yakisoba. Love the serene vibes and food selection.

Love Japanese food?? This is the place to go!! If the place is packed then you know the food is good. The bento box with teriyaki chicken and the very juicy tonkutsu was delicious! I can honestly say that the tonkutsu( breaded pork ) was really one of the best I've tasted. It was moist and the crisp with each bite was perfect!. The tempura was crunchy and had good flavor. And the sushi??? Not only eye catching but each bite exploded with flavor. To top it all, the service was excellent!

We ordered from the dinner menu. We got 3 bentos and it fed our whole family! The food was delicious! We even had leftovers! The sashimi was fresh! I really liked the tempura and how fresh and crispy it came out! The salad was yummy! Everything was great! We got to go in the little room and it was nice for the boys! Service was great! The boys enjoyed the ice cream and the end, too! If we are in the area we would definitely come back here!

This is probably one of my favorites because of the sushi chef and its pricing for their lunch and dinner specials. This place has been around for a long time and the food is usually consistent (sushi in particular). The price has gone up a little, but it is so worth it. It has its own parking lot and it is easy to find. Definitely, make reservations if you want to eat their teppanyaki.

There was no reservation made, our arrival was at 6:48pm. The staff said we can possibly seat you with people who reserved a table at 7pm.. so we were seated at 7:15pm.. one server was really good, and then there was another server who seemed to have an attitude (please if you don't like your job, quit, because other people can tell), her facial expressions spoke Our cook did not start cooking until 7:45pm.. the table got drinks in a timely manner, but soup was way salty and came when the cook came, salad was not fresh and was warm.. We were charged for extra items. When we did not ask for them. Overall the service was not great, with the exception of one orange-ish hair girl. Ima just say I know our cook was not a seasoned cook cause we asked for medium rare steak and got well done steak, my rice tasted burned, the quality of the food was just not made with love and experience.. The bathrooms were soooo nasty.. we will not be returning here. This place has not received an award since 2012 anyway.. it was too many times I was looking for a server, or reminding about a sauce or a refill.. just bad.. The restaurant was sooooo packed, so I do understand everyone needs service.. but it was no exception for bad service and poor food. There was nothing special about the restaurant, it was not exceptional in service or quality, I would not recommend it to anyone.. The place possibly needs a new manager.. cleanliness can be improved, as well as service and quality

The menu presented extensive and adventurous options that as first timers could have been intimidating but with the help of Donavin our delightful server, we selected the perfect seafood salad for the Mrs. and the curated selection of Maki (delicious sushi "tacos") that together made for the perfect share. Add to that a smooth Japanese beer and a surprisingly moderate overcast that made our dinner on the patio the perfect way to celebrate our first meeting 47 years ago. There were so many other tempting menu options that we'll look forward to sampling on our next for sure visit. Hopefully we will have the pleasure of having Donavin as our server even though our observation is that all the young people serving are helpful and gracious . We chose to commemorate it by having dinner at O-iza and what a wonderful choice it was! As soon as we entered the restaurant, we were immersed into the a serene and beautiful environment characteristic of the Japanese culture. The young ladies that greeted us and then ushered us to the patio were lovely and gracious. It was then that we met Donavin who became our adept curator for the evening. He effortlessly, patiently and with insight matched our curiosities and tastes to the perfect menu choices. We quickly realized that we were barely scratching the surface of the delightful selections that the menu has to offer. That means we need to return and continue our exploration. Hopefully, we again will have Donavin to guide us. We would like to thank the entire staff for a most pleasurable evening. Nancy M. Ramentas

So when my son asked us to meet him, his lovely wife and our 3 granddaughters for dinner on a recent visit I didn't have my hopes up. Namikaze is a nice quiet restaurant that from its decor could easily be an Italian, French or American restaurant. Just change the paintings on the wall. The Menu is pretty expansive. A full menu of Sushi, noodles, gyoza and rolls made it difficult to choose but eventually we narrowed it down. I always try the Unagi (eel) at any sushi restaurant. It is my barometer for how good everything else will probably be. It was good. I also ordered the Kimono Roll while my wife had Shogun roll. We also tried the Chicken Gyoza. Everything was terrific. Excellent taste and fresh. Next time someone asks me about Fresno I'll say "Fresno! They have good sushi there". Definitely Recommended.
